They can make a vegetarian bean and cheese taco fry bread. It's one of my favorite foods. It comes with sour cream and salsa. There's plenty of parking and seating. The price is good and this will fill you up after a big hike. The staff here is nice! One time there was a mistake and I had to wait longer and they offered to give me a dessert fry bread but I knew I'd be too full to eat it so I declined. I appreciate that kind of kindness! I hope visit again before the summer is over.

Fry bread! Hot and fresh too!…read more Navajo tacos AKA Indian fry bread is such a delicious treat especially when you're in the middle of nowhere and food options are extremely limited. On a recent trip to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon we stumbled upon a place called Jacob Lake Inn. This food stand is located right in front of the inn. Navajo tacos can be made savory or sweet depending on what you top them with and both versions are pretty amazing. The savory ones can be topped with your favorite meat like bison & chicken and fresh lettuce, tomato, green onions, sour cream, cheese, etc. The sweet ones can be topped with honey butter, cinnamon sugar, chocolate, etc. So what exactly is fry bread? Its a flat dough bread, fried or deep-fried. It has a crispy shell but is fluffy and airy inside. And the fun part is you can top it with a lot of delicious goodies. Truly the best thing we ate all week while in the area. Outdoor seating is available right next to the food stand as well.

I ate several dinners and a breakfast when I stayed and loved everything I had. I tried the River Raft'n Tacos with grilled fish one night - it comes with 3 tacos full of supple chunks of perfectly grilled fish and chips and salsa on the side. The tacos were just a tad bland but still delicious and the side of salsa added the extra flavor I needed. My other dinner was one of their specials - the Southwest burger with a side of onion rings and veggie soup. This was fantastic!! The burger was flawless and tasty (not too spicy) and the onion rings were positively massive and delicious as well. The veggie soup was a bit spicy but still flavorful and hit the spot. For my breakfast I had the Horseshoe Breakfast which comes with two eggs, toast, home fries or fruit, and I chose ham for my meat. It was a great start to the day and their in-house coffee is really nice. Their unique dessert offering - the Avocado Pie - is a must when you visit!! It's light, creamy, and not overly sweet with a hint of citrus. It's like a mild key lime pie sort of and I loved it - would definitely get again. They have some traditional indoor seating as well as a patio that has garage style doors that they can open for an al fresco dining option. Decor gives off 70s diner vibes and they have really cool Grand Canyon/Colorado River paintings on the walls. All the staff were attentive and helpful - even with our large rowdy group the night before our rafting trip!

Rainbow Room is located inside the Lake Powell Resort. It's right by the water. Parking is plentiful. We were greeted and seated right away by the window, which was perfect. We had a great view of the lake and red rock formations, but it seems like there's no bad view from any seat in the restaurant. Our server was friendly and quick to respond. We ordered the following items: Espresso martini $15 Lobster and Shrimp Ceviche $25 Shrimp Risotto $30 Porcini Mushroom Fettuccine $18 + chicken $7 10 oz NY Strip $45 Chocolate lava cheesecake Honestly, the food and drinks were 3/5. Nothing tasted bad, but nothing tasted amazing either. It was also a bit overpriced. However, the portions were generous which my teenager loved. We were able to watch the sunset and catch the start of the fireworks while at dinner. Highly recommend making a reservation around sunset if you're in the area!

Three star reviews: I understand the 3 star reviews some folks have provided. Compared to big city locations it might be below some expectations. But, the food was very good compared to other restaurants in the area we went to. My review: I give it a five star because the food was tasty, the view was great and it was laid back. I'm pretty critical and straight forward in my reviews and I gave "sunset 89" - 5 stars. Was it the best place I've eaten and experienced -no. But for the area and our vacation - it was the best place we ate at. Normally: If this was a place in my hometown I'd probably give it a 3 star. Cost: The cost was a little high. But everything was a bit high in this vacation spot. We split the short rib bowl between two. If you are real hungry then it should easily fill you up but you should not share then.

Our server was very friendly and helpful, but halfway through dinner all our drinks were dry. Food was delivered and then we were quietly left to enjoy with no check back. The end of dinner it took another 20 minutes to get the check and a box. We started with the Fried Brussel Sprouts, which were Incredible! I was going to get the Loaded Fries for my entree, but they were sold out of the short ribs. For my entree I got the fish and tots ( the entree is originally fries, but i switched ) My friend got the BBQ pork belly Bowl. The Yakisoba noodles were a bit chewy, the Steamed Rice was perfect. I was going to get the Churro Sundae, but the evening got too late.
