Ice cream puff was the best!
    Silvia L.

My friend introduced me this place, which she thinks great place for puff. I guess her review will be 5 stars, so the review here will only represent myself: disappointed. I think I won't pay such money for air anymore.... Seriously, the cream was so little, thus it was hard to tell if Matcha was good. Well, I have to say their Matcha ice cream is good, but not great enough to bring me back unless I am closed by.

I have been a big fan of Beard Papa's, and this is always the primary location that comes to mind when I think of the chain. Always has seasonal flavours when I've checked(even if they do sell out rather quick some days) and their delivery boxes are REALLY cute. I know I might be in the minority, but I like the simplicity of these cream puffs more than some other fancier chains in Vancouver. The mango and matcha flavours have never been disappointing, and are not too overpowering when in combination with the crispy shell. I've also never had a case where they have been under filled. I do admit the shell can be more buttery though and less dry.

The Beard Papa's No.3 Road restaurant location is quite spacious and provides a comprehensive menu that's suitable for all types of palates. However, we were quite disappointed that they did not have the majority of their filling flavours the day that we dined there. The quality of the food here is the same as their Aberdeen food court location, with a few more options including their famous "mochi" waffles. These waffles are nice, light, and chewy, which make a perfect snack or dessert for sharing. You can order it with a wide array of toppings and fruits such as ice cream and strawberries. They also have other desserts like shaved ice, cakes, puddings and creme brulee. This part of Richmond doesn't have too many late-night dessert places so Beard Papa's is definitely a great addition to Richmond's ever growing restaurant scene.

I remember driving by and thinking this was a really cute cafe, and it turned out to be Beard papa's. The only beard papa's I've been to are like stores you get your cream puffs at the counter and get it to go. This beard papa's location is a waiter/cafe style, so you get seated by a waiter and get your order taken. The staff are really friendly, and the cafe is very clean and super cute! They have a large selection of desserts, as well as some snacks like fries and popcorn chicken. My friends and I got their signature cream puffs and shared a creme brûlée. The cream puffs were delicious: crispy outside, super creamy custard inside, and subtly sweet. The creme brûlée was like a standard custard, so it wasn't that special to be honest (still good though). Other than the unique cafe set up, the cream puffs taste the same here as they do at other locations. But it's really delicious and a fun experience, so I recommend coming here!

This is definitely the biggest location of the three. The first location I went to was a small little hidden nook on Robson. So, walking into the No. 3 location I was genuinely surprised by how much bigger it was. You have the option to sit down and receive waiter service or order from the counter for take-out. My family was craving dessert after dinner, so we stopped in quickly. Beard Papa's is known for their tasty treats, specifically their cream puffs (they're huge!). We decided to grab a box of cheesecake to go. The only thing I have to complain about is that the service was lacking. The girls at the front were very rude to my family and I and seemed grumpy to be taking our order. I'm not sure if it was because we came in close to closing, but even then it was 45 minutes before closing and we were ordering to-go. Other than that, the baked goods are great.

Great dessert pastries here, staff are nice. But come earlier if you want more selection as they do sell out of a few items. The original is always great though.

This place does not appeal to be the usual beard papa in malls at all! Amazing amazing amazing mochi waffles!!! Plus they have a huge selection of drinks and other desserts if you don't want cream puffs. I was really surprised, because the waffle actually has the perfect fluffiness and sweetness !! Plus the presentation is quite lovely as well! The daily cheesecake is creamy and yummy, My new fav dessert place in richmond now!!

I accidentally came in here when I was looking for Waves Coffee. I felt too awkward to exit since the employees saw me, so I proceeded to go to the counter to order a drink. Turns out this place operates with waiter service or you can just order from the counter if you want to take your items to go. They have a great selection of desserts and drinks that I wanted to try, but alas, my diet forbids me from enjoying those at this time. I got their white champagne tea, which came out with the pot, and the waitress was conscious to ask me whenever I was getting low if she could refill it for me. Overall good service, good tea. The only reason I'm knocking a point off is because of their weird setup that I couldn't figure out. Although they have waiter service, I still had to go up to the front to pay. Seeing that this place looked pretty casual and there were only two employees working, I think it would function better without the waiter service and more like a regular cafe. That way, when the place gets a little busier and the employees can't keep an eye out on the customers that are dining in, there won't be a problem for them to just head out instead of waiting forever to ask for the check.

Look at that mochi inside of the waffle! Yum!

Not all Beard Papa's are created equal. To the best of my knowledge, this is the only Beard Papa's cafe with an extensive menu. Aside from their cream puffs, they also offer other baked goods such as cheesecakes, molten chocolate cakes, and my all time favorite, mochi waffles! Yes, who ever thought of putting mochi inside waflles deserve recognition. What an ingenius idea! Crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Heck, each bite gives you both textures! It's pretty amazing! The place is young, trendy, clean, and modern. My one gripe is: why won't they open more of these cafes??? Especially in Seattle? Don't deprive us!!

Beard Papa's Coffee shop. I like it. So does the Japanese Food Critique. Pricey in a ways, but it's all good. Franchise business seems to do well. They're new on the block and I hope they do well. My niece loves this place. So does my son. He loves Beard Papa's. So we come here often, or whenever I have a meal down the block at Pepper Lunch and have our desserts here. The cakes aren't half bad either. So happy it's not another cash only place and that staff speak English.

    Kenneth N.

If there is a new dessert place, I am totally down!!! Where the old gelato place used to be, a tough go with this being the 3rd business in as many years. Maybe parking issues but I digress. Just opened a few weeks ago, according to Maggie, gorgeous service. What makes this one different from the kiosk in Richmond Centre is this is a total sit down restaurant, fancy decor as per pics. And a heckuva lot more variety: cupcakes, macarons, cheesecake, creme brulee, green tea and chocolate fondant and chocolate cake. Shaw wiFi here.

Chocolate eclair and cream puffs were very light and tasty! Only complain was customer service wasnt that great but other than that, food was good!

We tried the combo pack with Durian, Purple Yam, Chestnut, and Mango, and every bite was delightful. The mochi wrapping is impressively thin, with a pillowy texture that makes each piece melt in your mouth. While I usually gravitate toward durian, the Chestnut and Purple Yam stole the show. You can really taste the effort and pride in the chestnut puree--it's smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. The staff are warm, friendly, and clearly proud of their craft, which adds to the charm of the experience. This is absolutely one of those places worth lining up for. The dining space is small but the decoration inside makes you feel like you transported to a different country. Marshmallow Thick Toast 4/5 The toast was about an inch thick, well toasted outside with a pillowy soft center. There's some melted chocolate on the bottom that added to the smores vibe. The marshmallows on top weren't very thick, so it melted to an even layer with perfect browning. The toast was cut into 9 pieces so it can be shared but given the portion I think 1-2 people would be fitting for this dessert. We weren't too hungry, so we shared amongst 4. Jasmine Tea Jelly 4/5 I really liked how fragrant the jelly was and that the jelly was a softer jelly that reminds you of Aiyu jelly. The after taste was a bit bitter but I feel like that tells me it was brewed and made and not just bought to serve. It's served with a splash of half and half I believe. To-Go I wanted to try and compare all the tea flavored jellies they had, Jasmine, Oolong and Earl Grey Tea Jelly. Packaged with small packets of the half and half to add later. The best was OOLONG 5/5- it had a slight roasted tea flavor that was refreshing and comforting at the same time. What you would want from a milk tea. Second best was Jasmine - fragrant and less bitter than the one I had in restaurant, typical jasmine flavor that's lightly floral and not too heavy Earl Grey 3/5 - it was good if you like earl grey like me, but it has an intensely strong fragrance and flavor that might be off-putting if you're not used to the taste. It was by far the strongest floral taste and smell of the three. I'd definitely be back to get these to go, they carry well and you can cross borders with them :)
