Granted, We were at the end of the season, but they should have stopped weeks before - I would not recommend. I felt so guilty even riding the sleigh with how miserable the horses were, but another person in our group had purchased all the tickets in advance as a treat for everyone The "trail" was complete mud and rocks and the horses were working so hard they had to stop and rest every few minutes - Thankfully, they allowed them to rest, but they should not have even been operating in those conditions! The ride was painfully rough. Absolutely not worth the $50 per person! Everything was dirty slush by mid-March, but the trail is more of a track, no wooded area, not really any views. The horses were absolutely miserable - dragging a loaded sleigh thru icey, muddy riches. They have a small paddock - I wouldn't even call it a pasture. And no shelter - Yes, these horses are content to stay outdoors 99.9% of the time, but they should have an optional covered area available at least. read more

We felt like something out of a Hallmark movie or princesses in a Disney movie. This was so cute to start our bachelorette weekend in Vail - a sleigh ride through the mountains with some of the biggest horses we've ever seen. Thank you to the staff that works there and the delicious spiked apple cider that kept us warm the whole way, and not to mention the s'mores at the fire pit afterwards that was such a special touch on the afternoon. These stables are great for a group of friends or family with young kids and older kids. Just an all-around lovely experience. Thank you so much for the memories.. We did the sleigh ride and dinner experience and had such a great time. Highly recommend this to anyone.

We had such a great time as a family! We were celebrating our daughters 12th birthday and could not have asked for a better experience. The views were stunning and our guide Taylor was excellent! She was great with our kids and a wealth of information. Horses were awesome and we highly recommend the whole outfit! We are locals and yet it's easy to forget just how rad our area is and the activities it has to offer. read more

The sleigh ride was a joke it was about a 15 minute ride with 3 stops in between in the dark. We did the 7pm sleigh ride (which the owner never should of booked) Came back for an absolutely horrible dinner catered in, there was zero ambiance in the cabin where dinner was served. The server was great but that was it. My kids declared the experience the worst of the ski trip. read more

Overpriced Was a sleigh ride around a track for 20 minutes. Dinner was a subpar buffet. All in all we were out $150 pp. Felt duped.

We had an absolute blast! Our guide Charlotte was amazing. All the horses are well taken care of. This will be a regular activity on our annual trips. read more

This place is definitely not worth it. Went with my family and the ride is 20 minutes there is absolutely no scenery and it was a very boring ride. Money is definitely not worth it. read more

Bearcat Stables was recommended to us by the hotel we were staying at, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Our two hour ride with Charlotte as our guide had incredible views. Charlotte was so personable and easy to talk to, as well as very knowledgeable about the area, history, and the horses. Our horses were experts at the process, too. :) All of the other staff we came in contact with were lovely as well. Don't hesitate to book with them! read more

Such an awesome experience! Britney was our horse riding guide and was sooo sweet. She gave us a lot of information on horses and the surrounding area. We did the two hour ride and is was just the right amount of time for riding. Definitely recomend this company. We will be taking our family and friends to go riding here :) After our ride we got some good strong drinks at their bar. Was so cool looking around such an old property and cabin. read more

If you want to spend $1000 for 5 people & 1/2 ass food this is your place! The prime rib was horrible and who knew you could mess up kids Mac n cheese and chicken fingers! We were so rushed from the moment we pulled into the driveway. The staff was incredibly rude and completely ruined any chance of a special Christmas dinner. Such a cool place and it is a-shame they have created such a crappy experience! read more

We went on the sleigh ride dinner, the ride was nice, the dinner was awful, the prime rib was raw the other food very sub standard, for $110/person, better to go to Macdonald's for dinner read more

Wanted to go on a trail ride with my wife while visiting Colorado. We chose Bearcat stables on the recommendation of a friend who went there last year. At 68 and not having ridden a horse in decades we were a little nervous. Needn't have been. Good instructions, easy but scenic terrain and horses that were very gentle. Great time. read more

We travel to Colorado almost every summer. We own horses and so we always make it a point to ride when we are on vacation to experience something different. We absolutely loved everything about this place. Very friendly staff and a stunningly beautiful ride. We did the two hour and it was perfect for us. We lucked out to get a great local couple who are regulars there that made the ride even more enjoyable. Nickie was our guide and was a true delight. She is the real deal! We will be back! read more

Bearcat Stables was an amazing experience from start to finish. A group of 8 of us went for my friends birthday while staying in town nearby in Edwards, CO. We had Charlotte as our horseback riding guide and she was so fun to spend the day with! After the hour long ride, we had drinks at the adorable stable bar and learned about the history of the stable. Such a special memory for me and my friends. If you want something awesome to do, look no further. From the horses to the views to the tour guides, this was an amazing experience! Would recommend to anyone. I had the pleasure of riding Myles and my guy rode Tony. Beautiful creatures! The ride and tour were very informational and the view was uncanning. Along with everything, we got to even see a cow and calf elk and a huge buck. I would say I would be back but that is just an understatement. It's more of "I cannot wait and look forward to my next visit!" read more

My fiancé and I had the most incredible 2 hour ride at Bearcat Stables. Molly helped us check in and was so sweet and helpful. The ride was fantastic... scenic, fun, relaxing. Everything I hoped it would be. They stopped for a photo op at the top and I thought that was a nice touch. On our way out we mentioned to Molly that we would be taking our wedding engagement photos that evening. She invited us to come back to the ranch all dressed up and she would let us borrow a horse for some shots. We were over the moon. We got to frolic with a gorgeous horse named Monty in the big open field and got the most to die for photos. Thanks so much guys!!! We can't wait to bring our wedding party out to ride during our wedding weekend. However, I think we'd opt for a shorter ride next time. I could hardly walk the next day! Yikes. read more

We chose Bearcat originally for the horse-drawn sleigh ride but, upon hearing about the dinner option, we decided to do both. The menu online was limited but I did notice that the food was prepared by the Lodge and Spa at Cordillera which gets 5 stars by my fellow Yelper's. So, I was intrigued and looking forward to seeing what it was all about. Bearcat is a few miles up a secluded valley near Edwards, CO. 15 minutes from Beaver Creek. We arrived and went into the small, early 20th century cabin to check-in. They were offering all sorts of drinks for kids and adults...cider, hot chocolate, grown-up hot and cold drinks, etc. They had a full bar and even had drinks in to-go cups to take on the sleigh ride. Then, we loaded the family plus mother-in-law in to the sleighs and set out with about 30 other people in two sleighs. The ride was short at 25 minutes but really just right considering the low temps. But, it was snowing and beautiful outside so it was very pleasant. The folks managing the sleighs were friendly and very nice and gave some history about the area and the original settlers of the valley. Came back to the cabin for dinner. Wasn't sure what to expect. We found our table with salads already served. Spinach with cranberries, melon, pancetta with a really excellent creamy raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Tasty. Main course was a buffet with mushroom risotto, beef tenderloin with vegetables and hunter's gravy and roasted chicken with gravy. Smashed potatoes and sauteed beans for sides. Dessert was blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. I thought everything was really good and prepared simply, but nicely. We ate at Kelly Liken's the night before and the Bearcat meal may not have been as inventive but tasted as good or better. My wife did not like the risotto but all else was excellent. Vegetarians beware - you have limited options here. This is a great option for couples, families, groups and anyone just looking for a different dining experience. I was happy to see that they gave us a private table but I don't know if that is standard operating procedure or not. But, I was thankful cuz I can't stand being forced to be sociable :-) The Bearcat dining experience would benefit from a slightly broader menu but I'm sure it is a real trick to pull off this sort of "gourmet" meal out in the sticks so I'm gonna cut them some slack on that front. I don't know if the menu rotates or not but I would definitely go back again to try something else or just to take friends or guests. A nice change of pace. read more

Had such a great time on the sleigh ride with my husband. The horses were beautiful and the weather was perfect. A hot cup of hot cocoa, bonfire and a cute dog for company the whole way made for a great experience. Would definitely come back. :) read more

The location is gorgeous, the staff is friendly, and the horses are beautiful. Go for a fun sleigh ride, and then do yourself a big favor and have dinner elsewhere. The food is mediocre at best. Most of it was lukewarm (ugh--cold mashed potatoes), and the kids' menu is misleading (don't count on the items listed actually being available). Even McDonald's would have been a better choice for dinner and far cheaper. read more

A sleigh ride and dinner is the perfect way to escape the ordinary in Vail. It's a special evening that starts with a sleigh ride. Of course, you can grab a hot drink at the bar and get it to go. There's a fire outside the cabin and your horse drawn sleigh is loaded with extra blankets. It's a short ride but fun and informative. Once you head back to the cabin, it's dinner time. Soup and salad, and the chef's creations. We had shirt rubs, chicken or a vegetarian option. Plenty of sides too. All followed with a yummy dessert. The food is good. Maybe not a five star meal but the entire experience absolutely makes it worth the 5 star rating. Absolutely loved it!!! read more

Our party of 8 went to bearcat stables on Saturday, August 8th. I found them online and booked a 1.5 hour ride. I had called a few other stables nearby but they couldn't beat bearcat's prices: $65 for 1.5 hours. When we pulled up we were immediately impressed with the stable, setting and staff. The location is gorgeous. It's like stepping back in time to the 1800s. There was a neat barn and cabin where you can order drinks and relax inside or on the porch. The horses were well-behaved. I rode Uncle Paul. My daughter had Smith. My son rode Cindy; and my husband rode Oscar. Natalie was our guide and she did a terrific job. She was very knowledgeable and patient - since most of us were beginners. She took us on an amazing tour up into the mountains and took awesome pictures our our families at the top of the trail. Later when reminiscing the day we went on and on about what a wonderful experience it was. It was such a neat experience we will all cherish. Thank you Natalie and staff for an awesome time! read more

This place was bad ass. The staff was really nice and knowledgeable. It's an old school stable while really classy and has drinks for the end of the ride. Our tour guide Kaylee was amazing and gave us extra time on the ride while looking for the elk herd. A bull was killed by another bull moments before we embarked. So much fun, and the Irish coffee was a great way to finish. read more

This was fun! We had 36 family members reserve this place for a reunion dinner. It's very, very rustic; 3 dogs, a cat, horses (that smell), out houses (that smell), an outdoor fire pit for "smoring", bean bag toss game, trailers, and a main cabin that seat about 46. It's BBQ, mac & cheese, cooked corn, etc., for dinner and a small bar in the cabin. They're plowing new ground out back for a new pavilion too. But, it's really down home charm! We'd go back! read more

Friendly staff. Trail had a nice array of inclines and declines, open spaces and tight squeezes. It's a shame the drought has been so bad up there. It's selfish to complain that it made the trail very dusty. It's more important to point out that CO needs water. read more

I surprised my husband with a birthday sleigh ride and dinner here, and it was fantastic! Such a unique experience, we loved it. It was like going back in time-enjoying the peace of the mountains and snow, and then a warm dinner in a 1 bedroom log cabin.
