Very good communication and guidance during the sign up process and good information provided prior to arrival. The river experience was excellent. Our guides (Anna and Kaitlyn) were informative and entertaining during our 45 minute ride to the drop in near Glenwood Canyon. Our family felt very safe in their hands and we had a lot of fun on this trip. Anna was a fantastic guide and boat captain. After the excitement of the rapids we spent about another 1.5 hours floating and sometimes swimming. Highly recommend for people who haven't done it before.

I was part of a small group that did a full day trip with Glenwood Canyon Rafting last Saturday…read more Although I'd been canoeing in whitewater rivers many times I hadn't ever been rafting, not sure why it just hadn't worked out. After arriving in the morning we were outfitted with PFD's and helmets, then given a good talk about safety. Next we jumped on a bus headed up Glenwood Canyon to the Shoshone exit, about 10 miles up river from where we started. By far, the best part of the day was the first half hour or so. Lots of action right from the jump, and lots of me wandering why in the hell I hadn't done this before! There was a good deal of paddling to do in that first part, but it was way more fun than effort. Since we only had 5 in our group we were able to go out on the 14 footer instead of one of the bigger 16 foot rafts like the others on our bus. This let us go through a couple things they couldn't, and overall offered a little more exciting ride. After the first bit it was mostly a float trip with only a few spots for paddling. This allowed our great guide Otto to regale us with tales about the river, the area around it, and the people that work on it. Along with a few other choice stories that you'll have to get from him sometime, if you're lucky enough to get him as your guide too. After 10 miles on the river we arrived back to the boathouse and had lunch, which comes with the full day trip. It was WAY better than anyone in our group thought it would be. Burgers, hot dogs, chicken, and pulled pork with all the fixin's. Water and lemonade were included but if you wanted a pop or a beer they had them available for purchase inside. After lunch it was back on the river for a very chill 7 miles of mostly floating. The only wrinkle we hit was some fairly hard rainfall, which did soak us pretty good but didn't dampen our experience one bit.

This company works out of a spa. The receptionist was nice, but no help. She called the owner multiple times and he never answered. She said "if it was me I would have left hours ago and I'd be way more pissed and mean than y'all even are." Shes right. She wasn't even able to grant a refund or do anything for us. No one reached out, no one even reached out to say they were running late. No apology, no explanation. We're driving back having wasted an entire day plus says of driving on this. Beyond a scam.

Whether you are an absolute beginner or an advanced kayaker who has not paddle the Colorado company this company has something for everybody For the beginner, they have amazing lessons and safety training and for more advanced paddlers, they have can take you down challenging river runs It's also the "complete package" --they have all the equipment all the logistics worked out . you just show up at their place in Edwards and they take care of everything and then bring you back to the point of origin. The drive to most places where you put in boats on the river are 30 to 40 minute drive so very close to the Vail area and convenient. A recent trip with " Matt " was one of the best I've had in which we had both experienced and beginners in our crew and Matt catered to every level as we went down the river and provided great river training skills and even acted as "photographer" for the trip . I would say it got down to 50 degrees at night, but they provide an extra comfy bed with tons of blankets! We were extremely comfortable! They had full bathrooms with the tent. So shower, working toilet, and sink with hot water! They had a cooler with ice ready for us upon arrival. The cooler had cold water bottles and coffee creamer. They also had lanterns fully charged for us. They had a coffee maker with sugars. The tent is situated on top of a deck off the ground. Can walk barefoot around the tent area. At night, you can see all thr stars and milkyway (as long as it is a clear night). They have a ton of activities to take advantage of! We went on the ATV tour in the morning, and it was absolutely worth it. Shout out to Above and Beyond Tour! Thank you to Greg for the fun tour and Craig! Highly recommend the ATV tour! Also, we did the horseback riding! Wonderful and friendly staff and horses! I had King Kong, he was quite the snacker! My bf had Mohab. BEAUTIFUL VIEWS at this ranch. Wide open skies and mountainous landscapes with a rich history! Don't skip on this place! Run, don't walk, to book a reservation. We stayed 2 nights, and wish our trip was longer so we could have stayed longer. We did go on a night hike with the lanters. They have chairs out on some trails to enjoy that big starry night sky. The price we were quoted was extremely high but it was our anniversary and we assumed the price would reflect the value of services rendered. In hindsight, bottom line: All things considered, in my opinion, you pay for a Ferrari and get a BMW. The price for what you get is egregiously overpriced even when accounting for how expensive the Vail Valley is these days. I recommend this experience if you are ultra wealthy to the point where cost/value ratio means nothing to you. I don't recommend this trip of you appreciate the concept of value in any way. There is a way to get the same experience with better accommodations for MUCH less: 1. For almost 50% less, stay at the 4 Eagle Ranch down the road for meals and lodging: VERY unique remote glamping experience with classy yet low key tent bar/restaurant on the hillside. Objectively better/more unique food/lodging experience and it's actually massively cheaper! 2. Turn to Co. Angling Company only for guided fishing - their price rocket ships if you tack on anything else.

We came up from Cedar Park, TX (outside Austin) and had a place in Vail. We were looking to get…read moreout on the river, and found Colorado River Center at Rancho Del Rio. This place is absolutely amazing. It's really cool the somewhat new owners Jim and Lauren....about as cool and easy going as it gets. I brought my family of 5, my wife, my 15 year old daughter and my sons 18 and 20....before my new grad heads off to West Point. We looked at some of the cabins, and you can see all the work the new owners have put into them, they look amazing, and a lot have been re-decorated. It's a very cool rustic. My wife and daughter loved the gift shop and the cool shirts. The guide Jeremy took us out, and my wife does not like the water, and he kept her pretty happy in the middle with the gear. We got out and saw some historical 1840's old cabin and other stuff, was completely awesome! We will be getting back there as soon as we can, the views driving in and out of there are almost worth the drive. They had a great little adult beverage store, pretty awesome to have out in the middle of nowhere...with no cell coverage which I loved....no work calls ,ha. Pretty family friendly, and the little wedding event setup looked cool.

Stopped into this fly shop this afternoon as I was driving by. I I was seeing boats float the…read moreColorado river and was curious on where they're putting it in and taking out. The gentleman working behind the counter offhandedly told me some spots where people were getting in and out and then commence to tell me that we should not be fishing it as it's too hot to only fish it in the morning. As I was only stopping to find out where they're putting in and taking out, I did not need an education on when to fishing and how hot the water is as I practice safe practices when I'm Fishing anyways I would have purchased some flies and was actually looking at a new net. I do try and spend money at local businesses, but I will be spending my money elsewhere moving forward. Do not stop at this fly shop.
