I would say it got down to 50 degrees at night, but they provide an extra comfy bed with tons of blankets! We were extremely comfortable! They had full bathrooms with the tent. So shower, working toilet, and sink with hot water! They had a cooler with ice ready for us upon arrival. The cooler had cold water bottles and coffee creamer. They also had lanterns fully charged for us. They had a coffee maker with sugars. The tent is situated on top of a deck off the ground. Can walk barefoot around the tent area. At night, you can see all thr stars and milkyway (as long as it is a clear night). They have a ton of activities to take advantage of! We went on the ATV tour in the morning, and it was absolutely worth it. Shout out to Above and Beyond Tour! Thank you to Greg for the fun tour and Craig! Highly recommend the ATV tour! Also, we did the horseback riding! Wonderful and friendly staff and horses! I had King Kong, he was quite the snacker! My bf had Mohab. BEAUTIFUL VIEWS at this ranch. Wide open skies and mountainous landscapes with a rich history! Don't skip on this place! Run, don't walk, to book a reservation. We stayed 2 nights, and wish our trip was longer so we could have stayed longer. We did go on a night hike with the lanters. They have chairs out on some trails to enjoy that big starry night sky. This is definitely a place we would love to return to!

I felt so guilty even riding the sleigh with how miserable the horses were, but another person in our group had purchased all the tickets in advance as a treat for everyone The "trail" was complete mud and rocks and the horses were working so hard they had to stop and rest every few minutes - Thankfully, they allowed them to rest, but they should not have even been operating in those conditions! The ride was painfully rough. Absolutely not worth the $50 per person! Everything was dirty slush by mid-March, but the trail is more of a track, no wooded area, not really any views. The horses were absolutely miserable - dragging a loaded sleigh thru icey, muddy riches. They have a small paddock - I wouldn't even call it a pasture. And no shelter - Yes, these horses are content to stay outdoors 99.9% of the time, but they should have an optional covered area available at least.

We would love to go here again because we had a great time, but I would need to have a manager or something sign off on the quote we receive to avoid the big balloon in price that we experienced, that was really hard pill to swallow. Regarding the drastic price change, we called in advance and received a quote for $700 for two 8-person rafts and a shuttle to get us there (screenshot provided). Unfortunately, we were told the morning we all arrived that the quote was incorrect and the shuttle cost was per person and not per shuttle. It also looks like the "Land & River Use Fee" nearly doubled as well, even though we did not change the amount of equipment we were renting. I told the staff that we would move forward with the cost because everyone was already there and they said they would charge us appropriately. They said our two dogs were not allowed in the shuttle, so we had to drive them up separately, but I was told later that dogs were allowed and could have gone in the shuttle. Once we got back down from the river float, we saw the charge was $1036, a 48% increase in cost compared to our quote, I was shocked, and after speaking to the staff there, it looks like we were over charged by the two shuttle costs of the folks who had to driven up, so we ended up in the high 900's, but still much higher than quoted. Overall, I'm happy we got to use the rafts, but I would warn others to speak to a manager when confirming costs and to be prepared for over charges or at least an increase in cost at the end of the trip.

But now, in reflection these questions were unfounded. BMR is a GREAT experience and fantastic way to get close to the majestic outdoors of Colorado. Most of all a week of understanding and playing the role of a cowboy...priceless. The crew of wranglers takes care to make sure you have a great time, the entire kitchen/dining staff provides all the awesome food for the week, housekeeping is on the spot and above all the service levels provided to guests is 100% focused and quality. The entire camp got to know each other and EVERYBODY HAD A UNBELIEVABLE TIME. E.g. one specifically liked playing in water, one really liked the cow's molasses in buckets nearby, some had a little bit more sass than the others, etc. The little tidbits that she gave for each horse was a clear indication that the staff & owners cared for and loved these horses - this is enough for any animal lover to want to support this business. It also made it easier to connect with and understand our horses to make the experience more enjoyable. HCT was otherwise fairly priced & reasonably understanding if customers are running late. The trails were beautiful and unique. The dogs running along with us were entertaining. I couldn't have asked for a better time! Note: They have a little outhouse on the side, but unless you're ok with those, be sure to use the bathroom before!
