I felt so guilty even riding the sleigh with how miserable the horses were, but another person in our group had purchased all the tickets in advance as a treat for everyone The "trail" was complete mud and rocks and the horses were working so hard they had to stop and rest every few minutes - Thankfully, they allowed them to rest, but they should not have even been operating in those conditions! The ride was painfully rough. Absolutely not worth the $50 per person! Everything was dirty slush by mid-March, but the trail is more of a track, no wooded area, not really any views. The horses were absolutely miserable - dragging a loaded sleigh thru icey, muddy riches. They have a small paddock - I wouldn't even call it a pasture. And no shelter - Yes, these horses are content to stay outdoors 99.9% of the time, but they should have an optional covered area available at least.

Thank you to the staff that works there and the delicious spiked apple cider that kept us warm the whole way, and not to mention the s'mores at the fire pit afterwards that was such a special touch on the afternoon. These stables are great for a group of friends or family with young kids and older kids. Just an all-around lovely experience. Thank you so much for the memories.. Henry the Horse is your VIP!!

I accidentally went to the wrong address because I used Apple Maps instead of Google Maps (which they clearly recommend), and I was so stressed thinking our entire trip was ruined. Instead of making it an issue, they showed us nothing but patience and kindness and made extreme accommodations to take care of our group. All week long, their team was incredibly helpful making sure I had the correct bus reservation for our one-day snow trip from SoCal. They were responsive, reassuring, and truly made the process stress-free. Anders was amazing to work with, and our guide Ben was fantastic, so welcoming, calm, and great to be around while traveling with a child. They made our family feel comfortable and cared for from the moment we arrived. What really stood out was how accommodating they were with our gear, they handled everything with zero judgment and even comped our gear, which meant so much to us. Traveling with a child can be unpredictable, and they were nothing but understanding and supportive. If you're looking for a company that truly cares about families and goes above and beyond, this is it. We wouldn't book with anyone else. Sage Outdoor Adventures sets the standard for customer service and family-friendly experiences.

Wes's made sure we had the right gar, and gave an in to the sled. I was especially nervous, but Wes kept an eye on me and my confidence soared. By the end I didn't want our time to be over. I would recommend Sage to anyone who wants to have a fun, safe, experience with the best guides around. We will be back!

But now, in reflection these questions were unfounded. BMR is a GREAT experience and fantastic way to get close to the majestic outdoors of Colorado. Most of all a week of understanding and playing the role of a cowboy...priceless. The crew of wranglers takes care to make sure you have a great time, the entire kitchen/dining staff provides all the awesome food for the week, housekeeping is on the spot and above all the service levels provided to guests is 100% focused and quality. The entire camp got to know each other and EVERYBODY HAD A UNBELIEVABLE TIME. Family-owned and operated, with wonderful horses and staff and a variety of activities, BMR goes above and beyond. My friend and I visited again this past week, for the 3rd time over the last several years. And we will certainly return! The scenery is gorgeous and the guest cabins are beautiful, clean, well kept and rustic. The food is delicious--3 excellent meals served each day. They can accomodate various levels of riders and safety is first. The attention to detail and the kindness of the May family as well as their staff, clearly makes this a wonderful experience. We feel very fortunate to have found BMR! Robin L.
