We took the family for our first river trip with this company. They were the closest to Steamboat but I was mainly impressed with the competitive cost and the longest float time! From my first call to our float everything went smoothly. They were patient with all my questions on the phone and they offered plenty of trip times/days. As soon as we arrived the paperwork was quick and easy then we loaded up and headed to the put in point. No waiting!! We opted for the half day upper Colorado trip and it was perfect for my two kids age 8. Life jackets were provided. Dan was our guide and he was knowledgeable and accommodating to our questions and was also entertaining! Dan has years of experience as a river guide and does his job well. His safety briefing was not overwhelming and the details were clear cut. We really enjoyed our trip and would recommend this crew hands down. I felt like we were in such great hands.

Great time today rafting down the Colorado. Travis was our guide and he was great. Fun, knowledgable of the area, history, wildlife... Our family of 4 had a great morning. Would highly recommend. Chelsey, who we booked with was also very friendly and patient with all my questions! :-)

My kids were incredibly disappointed that the drought had closed off the Yampa River to tubing! In an attempt to find something similar I booked a rafting trip with Colorado River Guides. We were so surprised at haw much we loved this trip! Booking was simple and quite affordable for the length of the trip. The drive down to the starting point from Steamboat Springs was beautiful and wasn't too far. Our guides, Bill and Paul, were wonderful. They were great with the kids, 10 and 13, and did an amazing job at keeping the group together. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a fun day on the water!

CRG was able to accommodate some of us in Kayaks and others in separate boats so everyone had a good time.

We came to CO for the TCS world series in steamboat. With so many activities to choose from it is hard to decide. One call with Chelsea and I booked our adventure with her. She answers all your questions, offered us a great trip package to accommodate our tournament schedule, the pricing was very fair. We had non swimmers, children 8yrs and up, even us old parents (some high energy and others timid) this trip was an exact fit for everyone. The guides were each very special and not one acted like this was just a job to them. They each made their group's ride super enjoyable with local facts, history, and science info. Can you tell we loved our trip?

Our boys took turns rafting in a small raft with Paul and loved it more than riding in the duckies with us.

And highly recommend. guides "Forest" and "Matt" Your point of entry is their website and soon you'll be talking to the lead manager, Kyle who makes the whole process very easy and is happy to tailor design to specific needs of the individual or group. Whether you are an absolute beginner or an advanced kayaker who has not paddle the Colorado company this company has something for everybody For the beginner, they have amazing lessons and safety training and for more advanced paddlers, they have can take you down challenging river runs It's also the "complete package" --they have all the equipment all the logistics worked out . you just show up at their place in Edwards and they take care of everything and then bring you back to the point of origin. The drive to most places where you put in boats on the river are 30 to 40 minute drive so very close to the Vail area and convenient. A recent trip with " Matt " was one of the best I've had in which we had both experienced and beginners in our crew and Matt catered to every level as we went down the river and provided great river training skills and even acted as "photographer" for the trip . If you are looking to get out on the water as one of your activities in the Vail area, check out Alpine Kayak!

I had a blast white water rafting down the Colorado River with Mad Adventures. When you arrive to…read moretheir store location it's about 30 minutes of admin stuff before you load the buses to head for the launch point. You fill out the wavier paperwork, get a speech from one of the workers, and go through the line to your life jacket and paddle. They also have shoes for rent if you need them. The bus ride to the launch point is about 30 minutes. The staff do their best to keep everyone entertained while your on the bus; telling jokes, telling you facts about landmarks, and the local area. When you get to the launch point it's about another 15 minutes before you get on your raft. They go through another 5-7 minute speech about the water, how to maneuver, and all the safety stuff (just in case crap goes wrong). Then they split you up into groups and you load the raft. We truly had a blast on the raft and I never felt like I was at risk of injury, or unsafe through the entire ride. From start to finish it was about a 2 hour trip; but it went by really fast. I could have rode the river for at least another 1-2 hours. It was super chill and some of the rough waters (class II and III) didn't last long but made the ride very exciting. We did stop for about 30 minutes at a point where you can jump off a cliff. There is a 25 foot cliff as well as a small jump spot for kids (my 4 year old jumped from the small spot). I did go up to the 25 foot jump (along with about 30 other people). Jumping was not a problem at all because you walk up to the edge and simply walk off for the jump. They don't give you anytime to look around, think, or get scared. 30 people jumped off in less than 7-8 minutes. It felt great!! The ride back to the main store was much shorter; about 15 minutes. Overall we had a great time and it was well worth it.
