We initially thought we did not want a wedding planner. But our wedding venue, Piney River Ranch,…read morerequired a "day of" wedding planner. After interviewing several on their list of preferred vendors, we were relieved to find Marguerite and we feel fortunate we were able to work with her. She takes time to get to know the people she is working with and has a wonderful and thoughtful way of figuring out what is wanted and needed. Further, she makes things come together without fuss or fanfare. She is attentive to details but keeps sight of the "forest" in addition to the "trees". We had some unusual requests and she handled them beautifully. Our officiant had had bad experiences with Wedding Planners and he was less than keen to have to someone else "running the show". Marguerite was not offended by his request that she be to the side and take instructions from the officiant during the wedding. We wanted a low key wedding with the focus being the beautiful views and the wildflower meadows present at the venue. We did not want traditional wedding flower arrangements. We wanted to use river rocks and greenery on the tables along with the battery operated candles required by the venue. Marguerite kindly stored the battery operated candles I found so we had ones we liked. She helped us work with a florist to come up with greenery that was just right. Once Marguerite understood the look we were trying to achieve, she worked with us and the tables looked lovely. She even helped collect natural river stones which she then put back in the river. She has a deep rolodex of people with whom she works and we have no doubt what ever kind of wedding you dream of Marguerite can help you make it happen.

We booked Artisan Events for day-of coordination services. Carolyn (owner) is very kind and well…read moreintended, but as far as wedding coordination, we were disappointed. From our initial meeting, we felt judged for choosing vendors she was not personally familiar with. She was only familiar with vendors outside of our budget so we were left to find vendors on our own. When the month of our wedding came around, she emailed our vendors without introducing herself, her role or her company, so our vendors didn't understand who she was or why she was reaching out to them. The timelines she created for our vendors were poorly formatted, difficult to follow, and not customized to the specific vendor they were intended for. For example, our florist was sent details on our dog sitter's arrival time. The weekend of the wedding, Carolyn stepped up and helped put out some fires that came up, which we appreciated, but we were left to put out many fires on our own too. Carolyn's assistant, Kay, who we met for the first time on our wedding day, was extremely rude and never smiles. I arrived to the venue in my wedding gown and overheard her discussing details with our shuttle driver. I kindly jumped in to clarify a detail and she literally put her hand up in my face and rudely asked me to "wait a minute" before allowing me to speak. She didn't even introduce herself to me. About an hour later as the wedding party was gathering, she rudely remarked that our groomsmen didn't have boutonnières. That was the extent of my interaction with Kay. Overall, I couldn't believe that we paid $3000 for Carolyn and Kay's coordination services when I felt they did next to nothing for our wedding.

I deal with a lot of vendors and I knew my same-day request (on a Saturday no less) would probably be met with cranky "not possible in the timeline" responses. Instead, I met Jolene on the other end of the phone. What a warm and positive person! She immediately took on my problems with grace and alacrity. She not only solved the heaters and blanket asks but also added so many details that I would never have thought of. Baskets to hold the blankets. Blankets tied with twine. Additional black napkins in case someone was wearing a dark outfit. Found local wines and beers. Just extremely thoughtful in everything she did. My event was not big or expensive. I'm from out of town so I'm probably not a repeat client (wish I could be!). And I had a very last minute weekend request. And Jolene pulled through 110%. I would trust her to plan just about anything. You'll be in the best hands.
