It's just upstairs from the Subway sandwich shop. Inside, there's all kinds of toys and things for kids to play with. From dress up and a stage, to a loft area with books and a small space-age room with black lights that makes everyone giggle when you smile. I spent probably a 1/2 hour just playing with a moveable marble track that attaches to a magnetic wall. Most of what's available in here is what you'd expect to see at a nice day care facility. This is not a kid's museum with telescopes and giant replicas of your body or animals. It's a great place for kids to meet other kids and have an impromptu playdate. There's an arts and crafts room where kids can color, cut, paint and glue. All supplies are provided. The staff is friendly and helpful but basically let you do your own thing. Expect a warm, cozy atmosphere with the smell of fresh baked bread because of the Subway downstairs.

Because it is less busy in late September, we got a private ride without paying extra...lucky us! Verna was very knowledgeable and patient with all of our questions about the horses, landscape, and wildlife in the area. She picked Gator for my 7 year old because he's slow and gentle, which was perfect for her first solo ride. It was such a peaceful time riding and we had such gorgeous weather, we will remember this forever. I highly recommend 4 Eagle Stables!

I especially loved her Power Yoga class; it pushed me in all the right ways. Natasha is not only a fantastic instructor but also a genuinely kind and grounded person. I'm already looking forward to seeing her again next summer! While in Vail for a quick getaway for a short weekend, I found this on a whim. As lucky as I felt I also got to learn about their history that is ending soon come end of September 2026 due to the owners' difficulties in renewing their lease with Denver Water. This ranch is an event place, paddle boarding place, hiking paradise, wild animal watching, etc. all in one. Per the information I read, the current owners have operated it for the last 15 years. This is one of the iconic places when it comes the outdoorsy stuff you can do in Vail. I wanted to do the hike to the waterfall and yet as sooo. As I learned from one of the workers that it takes about 6 hours to complete the whole round trip journey, I regrettably forego the opportunity. "I guess I will come back to do it before the official closure of the business" was what I thought and yet that's roughly two months away. Will I make it then? I shall see.. As the drought continues to threaten the entire region, I felt that this area could also utilize some moisture. Fortunately however, some wild flowers as well as the whole lushness of the greenery were still intact (as of early July in 2026.) So if you want to enjoy this beautiful property before it's completely shut down for good, go here before September 27, 2026. There is still time.

While the ride is extremely bumpy to get there, it is well worth it. The views along the way are wonderful, but once you enter the grounds you see a wonderful little camp with amazing views with many activities available. You can just sit and enjoy the scenery while enjoying a nice beverage and good food, or you can explore the area with a wonderful, well manicured and marked trail, lake for fishing and boating and breathtaking scenery for photography. If you have a long lens you may capture some great wildlife.. maybe even a moose on the far side of the lake. Piney Ranch hosts many weddings and some of the staff are residents at this great community. It took approximately an hour from Vail and I would not attempt to drive the bumpy road in the dark or rain. An SUV would be best, but we saw sedans making the trip. No camping available.
