It was a lot of fun! Learned a number of things, and really enjoyed it. Wide range of talent in the room, which made it interesting.

Stopped in during our visit as my littlest child LOVES doing any kind of art. We were able to get our questions answered and able to do some pottery painting right away!!! The kiddos enjoyed it & the workers were friendly & helpful. They do offer adult beverages if you are planning an adults trip. They do have some take home projects as well! Our clay class was so fun!! And a good amount of difficulty. Our instructor, Russel was great as well. Just the right amount of help vs letting us figure it out and make mistakes. Also very fun to be able to have a beer or wine while making our project! 10/10 will do another class! read more

We were exploring the area on foot and came across this business. My family and I enjoy doing "paint and sips" and stopped in to check it out. The signage on the outside indicated "walk-ins welcome". We walked around inside the store for about 10 minutes. It was pretty empty. None of the employees greeted us. At one point, I walked right up to the front counter and stood there. The guy behind the counter didn't say anything to me nor make eye contact. After standing there for a few minutes, the four of us just walked out. Either they don't want business...or maybe they didn't want MY business. This place doesn't represent Colorado/ Edwards very well. read more

Lauren Merrill is the owner/ manager of this beautiful art center that's set in a commercial park. It's a beautiful loft space with floor to ceiling windows looking out onto the mountains. On a cold winter day, too cold for skiing, I took my 4 year old here for a drop-in arts class. For $25 the little one got to make a something out of clay and we came back a week later to glaze it for an additional $12. A few days later we went to pick up her piece all fired and shiny. Most days of the week you can drop in and pick a piece of ceramic that needs to be glazed. Paint it come back for it later in the week after they've fired it in the kiln. It's a relaxing alternative to being on the mountain. You paint, listen to music, and just enjoy the low-key atmosphere. I have been coming here since I moved to Colorado, a mere 9 months, and this arts center offers all to be desired. Lauren, the owner, does art openings, adult classes, paint your own pottery, kid's classes, birthday parties featuring almost any project to be desired and of course special events! One of the best parts is drop ins. If you want to drop in for a special project, paint your pottery or anything at all there is availability. Give Lauren a call and she can set you up with the best time if needed. The studio is well spaced out with three main "project areas": kids area, pottery studio and the painting/open space area. This allows for a lot of available work space. This is a great place to spend an afternoon, create a special event or just do a paint your own pottery piece (and yes she will mail them to you if you are here visiting). read more

Although a bit pricey, the Mommy & Me get Messy class was great for a 4 and almost-2 year old to burn off some physical and creative energy. It was a great way for the kids to enjoy our trip to Vail and mix it up with skiing and snow play. As a mom, I enjoyed the class and was impressed with the upstairs area devoted to little ones. My nearly two year old was able to touch and play with nearly everything just like her sister. I only wish I had time to take a class there sans children! read more

What a great find! We couldn't have had a better experience. My 13 year old son couldn't ski because of an injury, so we needed something to keep us busy. We came in for a lesson with Lauren and learned to throw pottery on the wheel. Lauren is an outstanding teacher. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful every step of the way. You can tell that sharing the arts is her passion. It's contagious! We had a great time and ended up with three pots that she will fire and ship to us. The rest of the family was so jealous I think we will be taking a day off skiing next year so we can all go to the Alpine Arts Center. Highly recommended for all ages. read more

We are from Denver - were up in Vail for a week over 4th of July and put two kids (ages 6 & 4) into half-day arts camp for the week. Kids LOVED it! Staff was friendly and welcoming and very easy to work with. The projects they developed were creative, fun. At first, I felt like it was a little pricey, but they used very high quality materials and my kids had a blast - worth every penny. Would highly recommend their camp programs and look forward to signing our kids up for another Alpine Arts program. read more
