    Hot dog

Depressing space with substandard fare. I was going to write a review as soon as we left but my husband said, "why don't you wait to see if we get food poisoning first". We didn't. But seriously, I had low expectations going in and it was still a big let down. To begin with, we ordered some kids' meal which we assumed were pretty straightforward- a hot dog with fries, and spaghetti with meatballs. Both were pretty bad. The hot dog came sliced up on a hoagie (what?) and the spaghetti was topped with tomato sauce and a solitary meatball. The other meals were mediocre as well. The lighting inside was dim, a television flickered in the corner, and the men's room had water damage, mildew, and rotting wood in parts. I could go on, but you get the point.

RJ and I stopped here for breakfast. We had omelets which were good, but we wanted a side of fruit. We were charged extra for fruit out of a can. They should have paid us to eat that.

$6.99 for their hot cakes special; what a deal!

Great diner, friendly staff, quick service. Ambiance and decor can use a little work but strictly the food and service are good.

Hubby and I road trip pretty frequently, and oddly enough we've never stopped here. Well, we stopped here for breakfast a week later on our way back north! It was a regular slow weeknight vibe, but the waitress had good energy. She was patient and allowed us time to make a decision. Even the next day, we enjoyed the food we took to go. I absolutely love small chicken wings, and these wings gave!!! Will always make this spot a stop on our road trips

No, this is not gourmet dining but it is top quality diner food and my goodness is it plentiful!! What makes Deepwater deserve five stars however is the welcoming service you will receive once you walk through the doors. We've been cared for by wait staff both young and old and no matter who it is you want to leave significant tips when you leave. Today's meal was great as always and I have tomorrow's lunch in the fridge. Fresh and tasty!! Really great soups!! Yes, I know the view out the windows is not great but they can't help their location. One complaint... I am tired of having TV's in restaurants because I go to escape the world unless I am going to a sports bar to watch a game. And, if you have to have TVs distracting meal conversations at least don't make us watch political TV networks because some of us are offended by them.

What an adorable and tasty little diner!…read more When we arrived the place was packed and we followed the signage instructions to "seat ourselves". Very shortly we were greeted, handed menus and our coffee order was taken, impressive efficiency with a full house! I've have a recent hankering for scrapple and I'm glad this is where I got it- super crispy exterior with a meaty punch of flavor inside, probably the best scrapple I've ever had. I chose the eggs Chesapeake, which is eggs Benedict on a bed of lump crab- you can't go wrong, it's delicious! Husband got the Jo Jo's breakfast burger (without the bun) and the patty was HUGE - a very filling and flavorful choice. Pro Tip: the menu says home fries but it's like a cross between mashed potatoes and diced potatoes - order them extra crispy and you'll be happy you did.
