So me and my wife went this place last night for dinner. I wanted some good stick to your ribs kinda food. We both got the fried chicken platter with Mac and cheese I got mashed potatoes Krista got green beans and let me tell ya this food was on point. The fried chicken is done fresh at time of order and it was perfect fried and the meat was so juicy. The meal was outstanding. This is our new go to place. Went and checked them out for a late breakfast. Pancakes were ok, scrapple was cooked perfectly. Hot chocolate tastes like water, so don't get that. I'll try the sweet tea next time. On the way back from a family reunion, my dad and I stopped here to gas up and get a bite to eat. My dad has eaten here before and said it was a good place to stop before heading home. We got the gas, then pulled into the parking lot to go inside. We sat at the counter and the waitress immediately served us. As I'd had a big breakfast, I wasn't that hungry, so I had a dish of ice cream (I know, not a healthy lunch!), of strawberry and chocolate, and a glass of water, and dad had a piece of cherry pie and a cup of coffee. Dad liked the pie and since the ice cream was hand-dipped, it was awesome! There were honest-to-goodness real strawberries in the strawberry scoop and the chocolate scoop tasted like chocolate. :) Yum! There are stores connected to this gas station, but I didn't have a chance to go in and look at them, from what I could see at the counter though, it looks like they might cater to tourists, which, for a gas 'n go, I would expect. The waitresses were attentive to us and checked in on us frequently. The restaurant was clean, and very busy, so they do a good job considering how much turnover they had while we were there. This is a really good place to eat breakfast. Hubby and I came here quite a few times to eat breakfast as we brought some groupon coupons. The food was actually surprisingly great. While the place does not look so great on the outside as it is connected to a gas station, do NOT let this deter you! The restaurant has a bit of an issue of where a person should enter and they should seat their patrons. In other words, you have two entrances. I haven't yet figured which entrance will get us seated. Now, once you get past the issue of sitting down, and you are seated, the service is quite attentive. The food is very good. The breakfast are on the larger side and my side of pig..lol! Hunk of sliced ham was so big I needed to take half home (not recommended because the kids know you went out without them:). We stopped to have pancakes with our kids but after 3 they're not serve which we understand but what we don't understand is $9 for 2 sodas and 2 chocolate milk that had very little chocolate in them total cost of the chocolate milks was that of a gallon at a grocery store. The only complaint I have is there's to much food. This place is 5 minutes from my house. I've been there a few times and tbe food and service is always good. The restaurant is in a truck stop but it's nice and clean. However, I really think if they cut down on the portion size and made an early bird dinner for $9.99 or less they would get alot of business from the town. Had a 34 hour restart here and wished the whole time I was somewhere else.. The showers are not worth 5 dollars let alone 13 the ladies in the store are horrible people very rude, unhelpful, hateful old bags.. The young ma who cleans the showers is about the only normal person in the store who treats you like he wants to be treated.
