They have delicious sandwiches, donuts (pastries), ice cream, etc. I especially was appreciative that they were willing to substitute the salmon in the salmon avocado wrap for turkey as I'm not a big fish eater and the wrap was divine! I saw an interstate exit information sign and decided to give this place a try on my travels up to the north. Honestly I was hoping for a cinnamon roll or a sticky bun but they did not have either. Although slightly disappointed I decided to try 2 donuts; first maple glazed bacon and then I asked for a chocolate frosted, woman said chocolate glazed I said yes. Did not know there was a difference but I guess there must be. Regardless both of the donuts were quite tasty. The instant you walk in the door they ask what you would like. For being an out of towner it took me a second. I will stop by again as they appear to offer full breakfast as well as the pastries. Overall good experience would just like to see a cinnamon roll or sticky bun with pecans or nut of some sort. Nice size seating area. Outside pet friendly deck. One of my favorite businesses in the world in Kentucky. Found this place by random one day going up to Cincinnati from Lexington. A buddy and I were taking the back roads as I was doing some photography on our way up to Cincinnati and kind a got a little hungry and stopped in on this place. I've been here multiple times now and each time I'm never disappointed on how amazing the service, the food and the atmosphere is. This time I land of getting something from the breakfast menu which was delicious and simple. I just went with a biscuit egg, cheese and sausage. I also got a fruity pebble's doughnut which was kind of cool to get. As always I enjoyed each bite and the food is always nice and warm when it comes out. This is definitely a staple for me when I'm in Kentucky on my way to Cincinnati. I would highly recommend coming here for breakfast or lunch and even grabbing a few of their bakery items since they sell bakery items also. read more

This was a great alternative to the boring chain restaurants that are rampant on 75 south between Cincinnati and Lexington. We stopped by rather late (after 8pm), so there wasn't much left in the donut cabinet, but I can say that the sandwiches we all ordered were delicious (and I love that they came with a pickle and 3 donut holes!) Want one extra bag of chips? End of the line. Want extra mustard? Face the woman at the Pick Up. You should be able to get a refill or drink to go at pick up, especially since the drink fountain was there. It seemed like they had enough workers, just not enough up front. For a small town, I was pretty impressed as to what Beans had to offer! I got a half salad (pecan chicken) and a half an avocado salmon wrap. The salad was delicious, with a large portion of chicken and a great balsamic dressing. The wrap was good, but very runny and messy. You've got to me kidding me....first off there were literally 6 workers the day I stopped in around 3. There were 4 people in line, with 6 workers! Finally my turn to order and I asked if they had iced coffee. The cashier looked at me like I had 5 heads, and replied saying she could put ice in my coffee. I explained to her that iced coffee is brewed and then iced, served cold. She didn't have anything like that. I took a regular cup of coffee and she pointed me to the self serve station,only to find decaf. Too late , I had already paid. Omgoodness! Best wraps I've had around here. Hubby got an off the menu BLT, I got the chicken caesar wrap and my son got the smoked Turkey sandwich. Everything was fresh, crisp, the right temp. AND they have doughnuts and ice cream! Your sandwiches come with a pickle, coleslaw and 3 plain doughnut "beans" and you can make it a "meal" with chips and a drink. But I found chips was a bit much for me. The sandwiches are thick and the wraps big. I forgot to take pictures as we were in the moment! They serve breakfast sandwiches all day,but their full breakfast menu is limited to morning hours. It was busy when we were there so a little bit of a wait but not bad. You order at the counter, the five you a number tag and then bring it to you when its ready. We were there 30 min start to finish. And the restaurant itself is like eating in grandma's farm kitchen . Looked to Yelp for help finding a local restaurant close to the Ark Encounter. Beans was the PERFECT place. They have everything from specialty coffees, smoothies, daily homemade melt-in-your-mouth donuts, pastries and breads, lunch menu (better than Panera), and hand-dipped ice cream. Combine it with soft donut (of many variations) and a coffee, you have yourself breakfast of champions. Lunch time is no different. Sandwiches & paninis are made with FRESH ingredients and all are delicious. Portions are filling with the combos bunched together with chips, drink, & donut holes to satisfy the afternoon sweet tooth.
