This was a few months back, but I still wanted to give them a shout out for everything about this coffee shop. Located right downtown, we went on a Saturday and it was pretty busy. Long line but didn't bother us as we expected it. Service great, lattes were hot and good, store was clean and so was the bathroom. We were able to snag a table which I'm sure doesn't always happen when they're that busy. Did notice some people on computers which I'm ok with, but if it was me I'd offer up the extra seats to people when it's that crowded. Just saying....I don't remember the prices at that time, but we choose here because their prices were better than ANY OTHER COFFEE SHOP in that area. It was budget friendly for sure. This was about 3 months ago, so just check online menu if you need to know ahead of time.

Coffee shop is very cute. Great place to study or WFH. The employee gave me a great suggestion for my order. Very nice staff. Latte tasted great. Reasonably priced (way cheaper than starbucks). 10/10.

What a fantastic little coffee spot. I asked if I could have my coffee in a mug instead of a to go cup and they happily obliged! There's just something about wrapping your hands around a ceramic mug. My sandwich was also delicious on an Asiago bagel!

Great study spot! It's so cute and cozy with lots of seating. Loved their handwritten menu and how much variety there was. Their jasmine ginger tea was DELICIOUS.

I tried Bean and Leaf's vegan breakfast sandwich and I am so glad I did! I was skeptical that it would taste good because I know it's not their specialty but I loved it! Service is was quick and the staff was friendly, which is always a plus. I am happy to find a local quick vegan breakfast option while out and about that I can grab on the go! It's served on a bagel with a vegan egg and I would come back just for this.

Searching for Vegan Pastries and Breakfast items, I found the vegan sticker on the window and decided to see what was available. A breakfast sandwich option with a vegan sausage, vegan cream cheese, and vegan everything bagel or vegan plain bagel. Other vegan items available were the vegan banana bread, vegan peanut butter chocolate chip cookie, and vegan muffins. Alternative milk options for lattes and teas as well makes this a solid vegan spot to check out! Only challenge is needing to find some street parking at $1.25/hr, or add a block walk from the parking garage on the street behind. Nice atmosphere for light socializing or relaxing by the small fireplace to catch a short break. If you have more vegan sweet craving, the Sanders Chocolates store across the street has a vegan dark chocolate salted carmel waiting for you, as well as a great variety of Kars Trail mixes.

I ate dinner downtown, enjoyed walking around to see the lights, and then stopped into Bean & Leaf for the first time to grab a warm drink with coworkers. It was busy, but not incredibly loud. Like I often do I asked the employee behind the counter how his night was going and he didn't seem incredibly unhappy but he wasn't thrilled to be there either. Whatever. I ordered 4 large drinks, and they were ready quickly. Tasted good. We were there for about 15-20 minutes, not paying attention to the time, and the same employee (older man) came out from behind the counter shouting "WE CLOSE AT 9 O'CLOCK, WHICH IS RIGHT NOW!" and shut off the lights to the "Open" sign. It was definitely an angry shout and not a good mannered "I'm trying to get everyone's attention" voice. It was incredibly awkward. I highly suggest they get a "countdown" clock that customers can see how many minutes until close, or make an announcement 5, 10, or 15 minutes before closing. It could have been easy to have let me know when I ordered that you were closing shortly. Yes, I could have looked at the door when I walked in and looked at my phone to check the time but I was enjoying the company I was with. I have no reason to ever go back.

I don't always drink tea, but when I do, you bet it's only loose leaf! I wish I'd known about this…read moreplace sooner because it's not only close to home, but absolutely fabulous. I found them a few weeks ago when I did a search of stores who actually sell loose leaf tea. The reason I like loose leaf tea versus the garbage sold in the stores is because it comes out way more flavorful, stronger and seems to taste a lot better than the stuff they sell at the grocery. I am also shocked that nobody else has been here before, as I know a few tea drinker who also happen to be active yelpers. Interesting. Anyway, the place is easy to find and right off fourth street and visible from the road. There is street parking, but a parking garage is literally right there on the other side of the street if you need it. As you know, downtown Rochester can get busy at times, so easy places to park is important. Walking in, not only is this place a tea store, but it also sells spices. They also have a ton of cool accessories to choose from throughout, which was really super cool to look at. I've also been on the hunt for the individual honey sticks that seem to be hard to find. Not only do they have the honey sticks, but they came in a variety of flavors? Like flavored honey? Exciting! I just grabbed a packet of regular honey sticks which are sitting in my kitchen now. The spice area has a much larger selection of items, from different varieties of salt, but other seasonings as well. I didn't really study the selection as the place was busy but let me tell you, there's a lot! I went to the tea section and they have all sorts of teas to choose from. I wanted something more citrus/lemon/herbal since I have a sinus infection, but I also wanted to see what else they have. Great selection, pre bagged but make sure you have the steeper's at home. If not, they sell them here too. Service was great, and the staff was knowledgeable. Nobody asked me if I needed help or followed me around the store, but when I did talk to them at check out, these people really seem to be tea oriented and educated on the product. While they aren't cheap by any stretch of the imagination (more along the lines of Starbucks pricing) they are worth every penny. I will be back in the future and I wish they did a better job of advertising!

The people working here seemed nice, but I do not love paying 3% to use my card for tiny donuts. That really puts the price a bit above what I want to pay. The place is super cute with a couple tables to sit. I like that they have fun coffee drinks and dirty sodas. We had a honey cold brew, it was far, probably a 2. I would consider trying a dirty soda next time. The donuts were a 5. We eat had two. The donuts tasted like cider mill donuts, a bit dense, but freshly made, sweet with a slight crunch. I loved the toppings. I got M&M and lucky charms marshmallows. So good. We also got peanut butter, peanut butter and jelly, and butterfinger. I recommend all of the them. I will probably return and bring my other child next time. When you walk in, you are greeted with bright, lively colors, sweet smells, and a hum of noise coming from Papa Joe's. We were there after the morning rush so it wasn't busy. We were greeted by a young woman behind the counter that displayed a multitude of small donuts decorated in over a dozen ways. We chose to get a box of 6 to share along with S'mores Cold Brew iced coffees. Our 6 "funkadelic" choices were named: Magically Delicious, Raspberry Lemonade, Raspberry Truffle, Robert Brule, Heath, Wind, and Fire, and Salted caramel Macchiato. I was most excited for the Magically Delicious because it was topped with what looked like Lucky Charms marshmallows but they were not the same kind and the mushy consistency fell flat. Both raspberry donuts were flavored as described in their names and tasted really good. The Robert Bruce is a play on a crème brûlée dessert and they complete the donut when ordered so it has a wonderfully crunchy top. The last 2 were good but I couldn't really taste the salted caramel of the Macchiato one. I love the concept here because you can try a couple different flavors without wasting food or having dried up hockey pucks the next day. I'd like to try more flavors so we'll be back. Warning to those cashless crusaders - they do tack on a 3% fee for using credit so tapper beware.
