A bit pricey of a spot but the ambience is really nice. Great for a solo work day, coffee date, etc. Came in on a Wednesday mornin and it was very quiet. Staff was helpful in assisting me with choosing a "less sweet" latte. Ended up with the house special and it was delicious. Spacious with lots of seating, good natural lighting.
Placed an online order for the iced golden shaken espresso. Was a slow Friday morning. I noticed no background music was playing, it is very quiet inside. I walked in and was not greeted by staff or acknowledged ever during my visit. Restrooms are to the left of the register, they were clean. Inside has high ceilings and is brightly colored with greens and yellows. Lots of different seating areas - some seating outside, some tables, high top counter and booths. The booths have charging stations which is nice. You have to put your plates and mugs/cups in the black bin by the garbage by the door. There was a TV inside but nothing playing on it. Highchairs were available as well. My online order took about 10-15 minutes. The pickup order area is hard to see if my drink was ready. I finally went over to see and my drink was so far back that I could barely reach it. I had to lean over the high-top counter while on my tippy toes to reach it. No staff was around. Just a strange experience. My expresso was good, had a good flavor and not overpowering. Coffee was pretty good, inside was okay with the ambiance, and customer service wasn't good.
Got a house latte on the way to an event in Rochester hills. The lady serving me was nice and explain the menu to my preferences which is something not too sweet. I customized the house latte to not include caramel syrup and add honey in addition to their house spices which includes cinnamon and cardamom and nutmeg. It was delicious and I'm glad I got it as I don't think I would have liked the espresso by itself or Americano as it seemed too strong. Pastries looked great and House made. Ambience clean and fancy looking. Shiny. We'll come back if I was in the area. One latte was around $7 - that seems to be the norm for these Turkish coffee shops.
Love the modern interior decor. It's stylish, yet feels warm and inviting. The booths give it a cozy feel. This would be the perfect place to study/work with all the outlets available. They have a expansive drink selection. They also serve variety of baked goods and desserts (none of these are made in house). I tried the kunafa pistachio latte and dulce de leche latte. I preferred the dulce flavor - the kunafe one had a very mild flavor. Not my favorite coffee shop, but I'd come back if I was in the area.
If you are anywhere near this gem, make sure you stop in. You won't regret it. The cafe is modern, immaculate, warm and inviting. Lots of room for lounging with a layout that offers privacy. We appreciate the diverse clientele and the friendly interactions between staff and patrons. We are mocha snobs and are always happy to try an independent coffee shop to sample their decaf mochas. Our large mochas arrived piping hot with the prettiest foam set. They had a deep chocolatey taste that was not too sweet and a really base. About as close to perfect as it gets. We did not have a dessert but we were so tempted. Their selection is large and looks really delicious. We will be back. The outdoor seating also looks really inviting for warmer days. Update: Dropped by the day after I posted the above review, as we were so happy with this coffee shop. Yesterday's review was on a Friday around 2:00 pm when the shop was not too busy. Today, Saturday, we stopped in @ 1:00 pm. Very busy cafe, waits for drinks and most seating filled. No problem. Worth the wait, we thought. Unfortunately, our pearl mochas were only luke warm, the chocolate pearls did not melt; rather, they settled into a clump we found at the bottom of our mugs when our drinks were finished. No beautiful foam art (I get it, but no excuse to cut corners on quality.) These drinks are expensive so visiting the coffee shop is a treat. We were disappointed. Dropping from a 5-star to 4- star review as my rating of today's visit would be a 3 at best. We will likely try a third visit soon. The shop is lovely. The staff are kind. Service was slow on both days, yet if your goal is to longer and enjoy the experience, it's not a deal breaker. Hoping these reviews serve to inform constructive quality control as we would love to make Mezaj's a regular stop.
The drink menu is diverse and the interior is nice but the drinks leave a bit to be desired. The matcha specifically never tastes quite right, not bad, but missing something. I've tried the vanilla and strawberry matcha, I would try the vanilla again. The strawberry was overpowering and didn't taste like matcha at all. It would be helpful if the dairy alternatives were listed somewhere, ideally on a menu or near the ordering register. It would also be helpful to have more information about the traditional drinks for those who aren't familiar. The staff is friendly enough but service is typically slower. This isn't a morning stop for a latte on the way to work type of place. It's more of a slow weekend morning or afternoon study session place. I am not in a hurry to return but it's worth visiting if in the area.

As a new location I'm hoping they take this feedback and realize that customers do recognize when flavors are noticeably missing from their drinks! My saffron and honey latte contained no taste of saffron (note the color of the latte!) and was mostly milk. Likewise the other latte that contained no flavor of Kunafe. For $19, It's really unfortunate to see what the drinks are supposed to look like on social media and reviews and then to receive such a subpar product after paying so much.
Back again on a Sunday morning for coffee! We went right an opening (9am) and they were already busy. As a place that serves coffee, I think they would benefit from opening earlier for sure! The kunafe pistachio latte was good! Not too sweet, unique flavor, strong. I do not understand the trend of not stirring the drink. Though it is esthetically pleasing, I took one sip and knew I need to get a straw just to stir my drink. Maybe I'm old- but if I'm paying $8 for a coffee I would like it to be mixed properly! With all of that being said, I do like Mezaj and I will definitely be back for another fun iced latte!

The interior decor is stunning with modern lighting, plenty seating like cushion chairs and high end sofas, and hints of gold and green throughout. The display of yummy pastries immediately caught my eye yet the lack of listed prices threw me off. I can attest the mango cheesecake was delicious. As for drinks, we tried the strawberry matcha and the new Dubai chocolate latte! Both drinks were sweet, rich, and delicious! Mezaj Coffee is a wonderful place to catch up with a friend, work, or just enjoy a beautiful drink in a relaxing environment. I'm already looking forward to going back to try more.
A fantastic spot! We got a few items for takeout- the hot Mezaj Adani Chai, red velvet cake, and the nutella pistachio baklava. Everything was delicious! The indoor was incredible, well-decorated with plenty of seating. Great spot to work or chat with friends. The service was quick. Would highly recommend!
They have a pretty wide selection of drinks and pastries and a really nice interior to work from. They're usually pretty busy, but I've never had trouble finding seating or a place with accessible outlets to work from. I do think their drinks are too sweet in general for my taste, and even when I asked for less pumps of syrup, I got way more than I would want, so I do think if you're more of a simple coffee enthusiast, this isn't the place. If you love fun flavors and more 'adult milkshake' type of coffee, definitely worth checking out.
So far have tried multiple items from here including the house latte, drip coffee, matcha and other lattes. We tried various pastries. Everything is fresh and tasty the staff is very friendly and nice. Beautiful decor and ambiance.
These Yemeni coffee houses are pretty amazing; it's huge, and there are tons of seating options inside. I looked up Mezaj, it means mood and the mood inside was busy but they had lots of help. The lines moved pretty quick. I got the interstellar latte which had some ube in there, it's a solid choice. The coffee did not have any bitterness to it. I would recommend it for sure. Also, sugar free baklava, excellent for those concerned about the diabeeeetus! Beautiful coffee shop, lots of fun items to try along with the coffee, I will be back!

I've been wanting to try this place since they opened, as I drive past it a few times a week. This is a new cafe on the corner of Auburn and Livernois roads in Rochester Hills, MI. This is part of a multi-use group of buildings and they seem to have the prime spot right at the corner. When I walked in, I was welcomed by a clean and pleasant space with high ceilings and green and gold decor. It's all new and there is a variety of seating types. I chose to sit at a small table near the side entrance. They have so many great food and beverage options, it was hard to choose. The nice young lady who took my order was very patient with me - I had lots of questions being my first time here. I ended up with a Mocha Pearls drink, Nutella Dubai Baklava, and an Almond Croissant. The drink was supposed to have chocolate pearls in it but I suppose since I ordered it hot, they melted. It basically tasted like a chocolate mocha so I would like to come back and try something different next time. The baklava sent me to the moon and back - I love chocolate baklava and it's hard to come by. Add the "Dubai" crunch kataifi with pistachio and I'm done! It was amazing! The Croissant was served warm and it had an almond paste inside. Soooo fresh and good! I love the attention to details and the care they took to serve everything so visually appealing. I appreciate that added touch. I will be back - and likely often! read more
I want to love this coffee shop so much since I live nearby, I've been twice and will probably try it a third time to attempt to find something I like. In all fairness, I'm probably not the target market here - they have a huge drink menu with lots of different syrups and flavorings but I'm more of a no frills coffee person. The first time I got a plain latte and it was just ok, so this time I tried one of their specialties - the Mont Cloud. I assumed it would be mostly coffee and some cream but I guess it was a cloudy day because it was mostly cream (and ice) for $7. I also decided to try the basbusa because I've never had it before, but again ended not being up my alley since it's syrup-soaked. Oh well. The inside is decorated really cute and there's lots of different kinds of seating. They also have an outdoor patio area. Free parking since this coffee shop is located in a little strip mall. 3.5 stars overall. read more

I enjoyed my breakfast sandwich and iced coffee, although my husband felt his hot latte tasted burnt. Unfortunately, the service left a much worse impression. Since it was our first visit, we weren't sure where to return our plates and cups, so we politely asked at the counter. Instead of simply pointing us in the right direction, the response felt unnecessarily scolding, telling us there were black bins by the door. The bins weren't obvious, especially with customers in line blocking them from view. We were genuinely trying to clean up after ourselves, so the attitude was completely unnecessary. The setup could be more intuitive, but more importantly, a little kindness toward first-time customers goes a long way. Unfortunately, the interaction was enough that I wouldn't return. read more

I came back with my husband for him to try it and it was just as great! We tried the espresso cheesecake and it was so yummy! I had an iced latte and tried a sip pf bis Kunafe Pistachio Latte since it was so beautiful ! It was really good and my husband loved it! I love they are open until 10 on a Friday night and service is excellent. They are well staffed. I love the vibe and decor and variety of seating including outdoors. read more

Lots of sweet treats to choose from and lots of coffee drinks as well. Tried the Dubai baklava, was very good also tried the ube hot coffee drink very good and pretty looking too . We sat outside there is lots of space inside to sit as well and very pretty and well decorated . read more

The coffee is delicious here and they're pretty quick with the orders!! I get the golden shaken espresso. It's also so cutie inside. If I lived in the apartments nearby I'd be going every day. read more

Mezaj's lattes are unique and yummy! I have tried almost their whole menu and I have not been disappointed yet! The Nutella Hazlenut latte(hot) and Red Velvet latte(iced) are my favorites! The cafe itself has an opening and welcoming environment. I have met up with friends to chat and have even worked from one of the booths. The baristas are all friendly and helpful. They have gotten to know me the more I come in and they offer great suggestions for something new to try! read more

Such a cute new spot! Everyone was so friendly. The decor is beautiful. Tons of comfy seating. I sat by the window and soaked up the sun. My pistachio latte was delicious as was my blueberry scone. read more

The coffee shop itself is decorated so cute! The employees were friendly and polite. I ordered the Interstellar latte that comes with ube and it was delicious! The ube flavor was perfect. I also tried the vanilla matcha latte and it was so good too! The matcha flavor is really tasty and not sweetened - thank goodness. 10/10 - I'll be back again and again! read more

The food was great - I recommend the espresso cheesecake. The coffee was lovely, but I'd recommend getting something less sweet than the salted caramel latte if you're also getting cheesecake lol. The service was fantastic! We were seated outside and they actually came out and got our plates and glasses, even brought us water! The interior design is lovely. Really cool place. 5 read more
