One of my favorite cafes out here in the valley! Nice spot for a quick Sunday Lunch. The brick walls, framed mini art gallery with signs, and plants make the place feel pretty cozy. They support local artists and have their artwork displayed on the wall for sale! It's always changing every time I come back, so it's nice to see that they support that. Their menu is written on chalkboards on display with a huge variety of drinks and food! Pastries that are baked fresh are also available -- such as banana bread, lemon bars, chocolate chip scones. There's also decent amount of seating inside and a couple of tables outside. Always clean! I particularly like coming here for their lattes and sandwiches. We love a classic iced vanilla latte that isn't just milk and you can taste the espresso. They use Equator Coffee and make their own bread (sort of a Dutch crunch rendition), so can't go wrong with that! Sandwiches come with kettle chips, but you have the option to add $2 to upgrade it to a salad. I've only tried their Turkey Club and Turkey Pesto, which both are equally delicious. Their bread really completes it in my opinion and adds a nice crunch. Everything is priced decently. Depending on the size, the lattes have never been more than $6 (rare I KNOW) and sandwiches remain at $12 - $13. I've called in my order a couple of times, which saves me from waiting 20 minutes for a sandwich on the weekends when they are busier. I like that that's an option they promote. I've only had one instance where they messed up my choice of milk for a latte and one of the baristas was kind enough to make me a new one entirely, so great service!

Local and hidden gem in Manteca! I stopped by for a late breakfast with my bf before we went on our road trip and we were really impressed by the food and drink we got. I'm not too familiar with Manteca but the cafe seemed to be located in an older part of the town in a plaza with many other stores so there is plenty of parking. The cafe itself is very homey and has lots of nice artwork on the walls. We got there around 11 am and there was a long line but it was moving quickly. We were still indecisive when it was our turn so we went the staff's recommendation: everything bagel with chive cream cheese, buffalo chicken sandwich, and zebra mocha to share. Everything was so good, I just wish i went with a different shmear because I thought the chives would have been mixed in and not just placed on top. The coffee was good too and I'm usually not a fan of mocha drinks. The only thing I didn't really like was the close proximity of our table to the tables around us and no public restrooms. Everything else was perfect! Good food, great service, and loved the mom & pop vibes.

I had a pleasant experience here myself. I ordered a avocado and cream cheese bagel and it was delicious, I know it sounds plain but it was super good because they give you a healthy amount of avocado and most places don't. My wife didn't like her egg and cheese bagel or her coffee but mine was good so maybe it just wasn't her day lol. Service was fast and friendly and the vibe was average. Nothing out of the ordinary but I would come back if I was passing through Lathrop again.

Uhm what hello how have I not been here before?!? This place is incredible. They absolutely make the best sandwiches, the bread is SO good it's like Ike's sandwich Dutch crunch bread but better imo bc the ratio of bread to crunch is so much better, the flavor WAS ON POINT. I literally want to come back everyday. I'm gonna be trying it all. They make the sandwiches fresh so it a wait but not too long. They're very kind and accommodating, there are spots to sit inside and outside, and the vibes are, well, immaculate See you soon bean and leaf!!

From the moment we walked in, the vibe felt warm, welcoming, and personal, and the staff truly made our visit memorable. I ordered the ham and Swiss bacon croissant paired with a hot chocolate topped with strawberries. The team was kind enough to actually cut the strawberries for me, which added such a thoughtful touch. My partner ordered the fresh bacon egg bagel pesto sun-dried cream cheese sandwich with an iced latte, and also surprised me with a slice of banana nut-free bread. The staff went the extra mile and warmed it up for me without hesitation. Every single item was delicious, fresh, and prepared with care. Beyond the food, what really stood out was how friendly and attentive the staff were. They didn't just take our order they genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. This café has heart, and it shows in both the service and the food. Highly recommend. Solid 10 out of 10.

my go to place to visit when I go to Manteca. I usually order the veggie sandwich. The drinks were chai latte and they were very yummy , has a cinnamon twist. The service is very fast, and everyone is so sweet.

Wow this is our first time coming here and I must say that I'm glad we stopped by. Our drinks were perfect and must say better than Starbucks as we are Starbucks fans and the drinks were way better here. Our sandwiches were so good and our turkey club had so much flavor and their spread was so good as well, my BLT was so yummy as well. We will for sure be coming again. The workers were awesome and very friendly and helpful and professional, the inside was nice and clean and the place would get packed of customers so we were like we are in the right place.

Went with other reviewer suggestions and tried the Cobb salad and iced chai. Salad is huge and delicious. Iced chai is perfect. I can't wait to come back for breakfast & coffee. Very sweet staff behind the counter. They were whipping out orders as fast as possible, with a few hands. I will definitely be back. read more

Wife decided to try this place for the first time while I ran into raleys for a few things. She said she will never return. The staff was extremely unwelcoming. No hello no anything... Not sure if it was because it was 3:25 and they close at 3:30. But she felt very unwelcome and also the coffee she got was not great anyways that would warnt a return visit. This is very unfortunate as I like to visit any coffee establishment other than a Starbucks... Oh well there is many other places who like to gain new customers.... read more

I really wanted to love this place, because it's a cute little hole-in-the-wall local business, but the prices are a little steep and a few of their baked goods (bagels, muffins and croissants) are from Costco. I saw the bagel bags and plastic croissant containers in plain view. Now, don't get me wrong, I love me a Costco bagel or croissant, but I don't love or appreciate spending over $3 at a coffee shop for a Costco bagel with cream cheese. Like I said, I love Costco bagels, so my parmesan bagel was definitely yummy, but the cream cheese left a lot to be desired. I got their artichoke jalapeño cream cheese and there were maybe two slices of jalapeño in the tiny cup that they gave me. It truly only tasted like regular 'ol cream cheese, which was a bummer. Plus, the cost of the cream cheese alone was legit $1.35. It's just a little silly to me that cream cheese doesn't automatically come with a bagel. Who orders a bagel and no cream cheese? That's like charging someone for butter with their toast or cream with their coffee. Speaking of coffee, those prices were also a bit high, so I skipped that entirely. When you rival Starbucks and Peet's on pricing, I think that's an issue. There's also room to improve on wait times. I ordered a bagel and it took the gal a good 8 minutes to toast it, throw it in a bag and hand it to me. My bagel was fine and the three gals who were working were nice, so I figured three stars was fair. I just wish that, for being such a cute, local place, they'd make their own baked goods, stop nickel and diming and spare us a little on those big coffee shop prices. read more

First of all when I walked in I was never greeted by any of the staff. So that friendly and warm feeling when you walk into a coffee shop was not there. Next was I ordered my Americano and a "make believe" BLT sandwich. My drink took forever there was nobody else they needed to be tended to. But I waited just because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Than my sandwich came and it was anything but that. Instead of getting a BLT sandwich I got, a sandwich smothered in maynoise, cheese, and turkey. That was not expected when I ordered a Bacon, Lettuce, Tomatoes on it. Plus all the other vegetable that make a BLT sandwich complete. It is important to support local, however if I'm not appreciated as a customer, I do not need to return for an experience that was not what had been posted by others. Hope others our able to find a small coffee shop that can have a foundation of how to treat customers, and a positive environment. read more

Coffee and food are absolutely amazing . Staff is always friendly too . Have yet to have a bad experience . Only thing that stops this place from being 5 stars in my opinion is that they play the music a bit too loud for my opinion . But I LOVE the food and coffee and will definitely recommend it again and again read more

I love the coffee but the customer service is terrible... super rude, for no apparent reason. I dealt with it for awhile but forget it. I myself work in food service so am empathetic to stress, but it should not be projected on to paying customers, each time. Get over yourselves. read more

We enjoy their coffee, but sadly service is always subpar, my husband picked up the coffee last and he was ignored while "regulars" were greeted with smiles and help. Really want to give more stars but it's the last few times we've had the same experience :( read more

The hummus plate is one of my favorite things here; they make their own bagel chips to go with the hummus! My husband and I also love the bagel/croissant egg sandwiches. They have many sandwich and salad options that sound good, but I haven't tried yet. My girls love the chocolate chip scones. Coffee and tea drinks are also superb, and so are the staff. I'm never disappointed when I go to Bean & Leaf. read more

This was a fantastic lunch! As soon as you walk in, the smells of warm, garlicky goodness, & other mouth-watering scents greet you! First time @ Bean & Lead this morning.. Ive been wanting to try it for some time.. Im an addicted starbucks aholic so took me some time to try it. Cute shop but both employees I encountered were not friendly -- BIG bummerI was expecting that from a small coffee shop in a small city! So I'm new to the area and wanted to try another small town place and support our locals. Went to Bean and Leaf Cafe. The girls are very sweet didn't give me hard time when I made a custom sandwich. Thy where very quick with my order. The food was so good. Best sandwich place I've been to. I got a hot chicken sandwich, the bread was very fresh and soft witch being Dutch crunch I was very surprised. Chicken was very tasty not dry at all. I'm happy I found a good spot in town. Lunch - 12:30pm The restaurant reminds me a café that I use to go to in Honolulu,HI. It's clean, great place to have a sit down lunch/brunch with a friend or old colleague. I ordered the Turkey Pesto w/tossed salad. It didn't take long for the food to come out. I took a bite out of my sandwich and I can say that it's one of the best turkey pesto sandwiches I've tried. All the ingredients tasted fresh and I'm pretty sure the pesto was freshly made. Also, the salad was fresh and the dressing that came with it was delicious. One of my longtime favorites still ranks up there! I just stopped by for lunch with my husband on our way through town. I ordered the chicken chipotle and he had the hummus plate. We also ordered a pumpkin spice latte and an iced zebra. Everything was perfection, I love the consistency of the food here. Erica recently took over as owner and she puts a lot of love and passion into everything she's doing. Everyone there is super friendly and this remains on my list of go-tos when I'm in Manteca! read more

We are at Raley's weekly. Their deli is not great for quick food for vegetarians. Definitely not gluten free. So we decided to try the cafe. Veggie options but nothing gluten free for wraps or sandwiches. Not all vegetarians eat salads. I decided on a chai latte. Had my husband double check that it was just tea latte and no coffee. The drink tasted bad. Honestly like smoke. Chai is a go to for me at most places. This one had a very distinctive smoke flavor. The whip cream was covered in spices, it was way too much. Husband ordered a wrap and the hummus tasted odd. We really had high hopes since it's perfectly located for us. Cute place but sadly not as good as we had hoped. read more

When I visit our other office, I head here for lunch. I have tried the chicken salad sandwich. I loved the crunch from the celery and the dressing was just right. On another occasion, I had the turkey pesto, great flavors. I want to explore the menu further, and am scheduled to head out to again this week. read more

Fresh, quality ingredients. Not pretentious. Thankful for this gem! Grateful for managements commitment to GOOD food. House made hummus and dressings are amazing. Salads are huge! If you are in the area, Bean & Leaf Cafe is a must. They have not only hands down the best salads in town but a great coffee selection and sandwiches that are sure to fix anyone's hankering for a a good old fashioned 'sammich. They have a few seats outdoors but the inside is spacious enough to work for the day by the window or have a lunch date. I ate there for lunch and had the Cobb Salad and opted for the balsamic dressing vs the bleu cheese which I think was a wise choice. The salad was so yummy and fresh. I'll def be back. read more

It appears they also have a changing seasonal menu for their coffees & desserts. All of their treats are homemade and very delicious! I highly recommend buying a treat to go with your drink. For the non-coffee drinkers, they offer matcha, matcha flights, lemonades, refreshers, teas, smoothies and energy drink mixers. The service is great! They are extremely fast serving drinks & food. The line might be long but you won't be waiting long. The lady at the cash register is usually the same person and she's very patient & kind! She'll explain any of the desserts for those wanting to try new things! The market & coffee shop always smell so delicious upon walking in. I'd describe it as a black milk tea with spices. Make sure to ask for your preferred sweetness as it isn't sweetened by default. The Adeni Chai was served insanely hot but, I enjoyed it when it cooled down and it was great. I tried the Honeycomb Bread (warmed) and would more than likely skip next time. It was a bit more mushy than the other Honeycomb breads I've had in the past. There's a parking lot which is always convenient and there are seats inside if you want to enjoy your treats there. Keep in mind though, it is connected to a small store.

This place is much better than many food establishments in town. Personally, I love Peet's Coffee over Bean and Leaf. But, this place is so much better than St*rbucks!!! I've been a customer since 2004. The salads are always great. How can you beat it? So much is purchased from Raley's grocery store next door. Fresh, fresh and fresh!! The sandwiches are awesome, and so are the breakfast items. Omg, you'll gag if you ever buy a prepackaged sandwich from St****ucks. Yay, bean and leaf. PS.... Like other restaurants with an auto swipe, you pick the tip choice. It auto sets to a percentage. Doesn't mean you have to use it. However, if your bill is just under $120, what does it matter if you add 20% vs. 15%? (I happen to read a post about this topic) on a customer feedback. read more
