100/10 -- Our Favorite Coffee Spot in the 209! Eliyanna Cafe has easily become our favorite coffee shop. My wife and I come here at least twice a week, sometimes more, and we've been coming since they opened their doors earlier this year. What keeps bringing us back is simple: the COFFEE. The flavor, quality, and consistency are on another level. We've tried plenty of local coffee shops and bigger chains, and Eliyanna is still the one we crave the most. My wife and I started coming here throughout her pregnancy, so it's actually really cool that we've watched the shop grow while our own family was growing too. We also saw the owner throughout her pregnancy, and now she's had her baby and is already back working and taking care of the shop. The owners are genuinely sweet, down-to-earth people, and one of the things we appreciate most is that they actually remember their regular customers. That kind of personal service is hard to find. Our second favorite coffee spot is Bennet's Coffee in Stockton, mainly because we can buy their coffee beans and use them for espresso at home. I REALLY wish Eliyanna sold their beans because we would absolutely buy them! If they ever start selling bags of their coffee, we'll probably be some of the first customers buying them. We also used to regularly go to House of Mokha since it's only minutes away from us. They're still good, and their pastries are delicious -- very sweet, but definitely worth trying -- but when it comes strictly to the coffee itself, Eliyanna wins for us by miles. House of Mokha feels a little more like a busy social hangout, while Eliyanna has that smaller, cute, welcoming neighborhood coffee-shop atmosphere that we really enjoy. If I had to give Eliyanna one area for improvement, it would be the food selection. I wish they had more warm breakfast options. They have some simple items like avocado toast, but even adding things like bagels, breakfast sandwiches, or a few easy grab-and-go breakfast options would make this place nearly impossible to beat. Sometimes they do get SUPER busy, but that should tell you something. It's worth the wait. If you're someone who normally just goes to Starbucks, Dutch Bros, or McDonald's for coffee, try supporting a local coffee shop like this instead. The difference in quality is noticeable, and you're supporting people in your own community. For anyone in the 209 who actually enjoys good coffee -- or even someone who hasn't really gotten into coffee yet -- give Eliyanna Cafe a try. I really wanted to support this place, especially because I always try to support local businesses, but after more than one visit I honestly cannot justify coming back. What made this visit especially upsetting was that I had already been having such a hard morning. I had been crying for most of it, and I finally told myself, "You know what, I'm going to do something small and cute for myself and go get a little dopamine in a cup." Getting a coffee or matcha is genuinely one of my favorite little pick me ups, and I was just hoping to turn my morning around. Instead, I walked out feeling even worse. The customer service here was incredibly cold and off putting. There was no welcome, barely any eye contact while taking my order, no friendliness, and absolutely no effort to make me feel like my business was appreciated. The entire interaction felt dismissive and hostile, almost like I was inconveniencing them just by being there. What bothered me most was the attitude. Everything felt unnecessarily aggressive and unfriendly. Items were being slammed down, responses felt short and rude, and the overall energy was just incredibly uncomfortable. When someone walks into a cafe, especially somewhere that is supposed to feel warm and inviting, they should not leave feeling worse than when they came in. Customer service is such a huge part of running a local business. People have so many choices when it comes to coffee, matcha, and specialty drinks, and basic kindness should not be too much to ask. The pricing has also felt inconsistent. On one visit I ordered what I understood to be the same drink I had ordered before, and the next time it was about $2 more. Maybe there was an explanation, but nothing was communicated to me, which only added to the frustration. I really wanted this to be one of those cute local spots I could support and recommend, but after the way I was treated, I personally will not be returning. It is disappointing because I genuinely enjoy supporting small businesses, but no drink is worth being made to feel unwelcome or like you are a burden. Sometimes people walk through your door carrying a lot more than you realize. A little kindness can completely change someone's day. Unfortunately, this experience did the opposite for me. I really hope the owners take the customer service concerns seriously because how you make people feel matters just as much as what you serve. read more

Saw this place recently opened on social media. Decided to try it out. I ordered the banana creme matcha from them. The drink was quite tasty. One of the better matcha drinks I've had in Manteca or really in the 209 area if I'm being honest. I just wish they added more matcha. I do like my matcha somewhat bitter taste and not an artificial sweet flavor. Nonetheless the drink was still ever enjoyable. Customer service was good, and the cafe was clean inside. We stopped by casually a couple of weeks ago to see this new place in the heart of downtown Manteca. This place is fairly close to library park. There was a constant flow of folks going in and out, the inside was very nicely decorated. It could use some extra help on cleaning up after a guest, because some of the tables looked a little dirty. Overall, the customer service was kind, there were three people working so it kept things moving. They have a local baker that makes their treats, because of the margins that each person makes I found that the treats were a bit costly. We had a slice of cheesecake that came out to be like $10. The drinks were fairly priced at the typical 5 to 7 dollar range. I also enjoy a local spot that has things to do for children as I have some younger ones, the book corner and the games were a nice touch. read more

Lovely little cafe, clean and plenty of places to sit. My friend and I split the Lox and Capers avocado toast- crunchy, fresh and very tasty. I was on my way to get a haircut and decided to try this coffee shop that's in the same town as my barber. I walked in and they have a nice little set up of tables and a couch and some chairs. There's also gourmet cookies for snacks and a nice menu for drinks. The staff was friendly and I got my drink fairly quickly and try to gourmet cookie. The service was beautiful, very nice calm ladies behind the counter. The aesthetic is modern and soft with a slight boho feel. The kids corner for reading and game in front of the main window are inviting and encourage/support the kid friendly atmosphere. It's quiet enough to work and well maintained. The food was portioned well while the coffee was about an 8/10. It's authentic but didn't give the huge flavor that I personally prefer. I love trying new cafes especially knowing there was going to be a new one in my town with a variety of drinks including matcha that looked decent! The inside of this little cafe was so cute and had good decor. Their hours are decent (9AM-5PM). I got the banana cream matcha and biscoff latte both in the regular size with oat milk. It was $15.26 for the two. I'm somewhat of a matcha connoisseur, I have my own business, have been drinking matcha my whole life, and make my own matcha every morning. Safe to say, I like to think I know what good matcha is supposed to taste like. I honestly hadn't heard many good reviews so far regarding the quality of their drinks, but I always like to try before giving my opinion. That being said, these two drinks presentation-wise were beautiful! Once I took a sip of the matcha, it was an immediate no for me. I honestly do like the cold foams on the drinks, the banana cream and biscoff were yummy! But when sipping the matcha/coffee themselves it was very questionable. The matcha did not taste like good quality matcha, I'm not sure if they use sweetener (agave/honey/etc.) because they're relying on the flavored portion of the drink, which I wouldn't mind if the matcha quality was proficient. The matcha tasted bitter and watered down, the taste kind of disappeared into the milk. I mixed the banana puree more and it just tasted like banana and milk.. nothing like matcha. The coffee quality also was disappointing, it tasted light and watered down as well. The only saving grace for these drinks were the foams. I had higher expectations as the drinks look nice, but the taste is honestly not there. I hope that they tweak and work around their recipes as they are still in the soft opening phase! This cafe seems like a nice place to chit chat or get some work done, so I hope when I come back in the future that their drinks improve. read more

I stopped by Eliyanna Cafe and tried their Strawberry Matcha Latte for the first time, and I'm so glad I did! I usually don't like overly sweet, syrupy drinks, so I was pleasantly surprised by how perfectly balanced it was. The strawberry flavor was light and refreshing without overpowering the matcha, and the sweetness was just right. The flavored sweet cream on top was absolutely delicious and really took the drink to the next level. It added the perfect creamy finish without making the drink feel heavy. I've had some disappointing cafe experiences, but this was definitely one of the worst. We ordered four drinks, two matcha lattes, one cookie butter matcha latte, and one regular cookie butter latte. Despite the cafe not being busy at all, it took 45 minutes for our drinks to come out. When the two matcha lattes finally arrived, they were visibly two completely different colors. One was somewhat light, while the other was significantly darker. Both tasted grainy and poorly mixed, and neither was sweet, even though we had added extra sweetener. In fact, the employee taking our order kept pushing us to add extra sweetener, so it was especially disappointing that the drinks still weren't sweet. The matcha quality itself was not good. When the cookie butter drinks came out, both were coffee, even though we had specifically ordered one cookie butter matcha latte and one regular cookie butter latte. At that point, we had already been waiting around 30 minutes, so we didn't even bother saying anything to the workers. The cookie butter lattes were also warm despite being ordered iced, and the ice completely melted within about two minutes because the coffee was so hot. What made the experience even worse was the customer service. The employee who helped us, a white woman with short hair, was extremely rude and dismissive in the way she spoke to us. We were polite throughout the entire interaction, so there was no reason for us to be treated that way. Her attitude completely ruined an already disappointing experience. Even the straws were concerning. They were not individually packaged, which felt very unhygienic. For four drinks, a 30-minute wait at a cafe that wasn't busy, incorrect orders, poor drink quality, warm iced drinks, questionable straw hygiene, and rude customer service, this experience was simply not worth it. I heard this place was going to open on some facebook post a while ago and was so excited when I drove by and saw that they were finally open. It was one of the only coffee shops actually open on a Sunday so it was crazy busy in there. However, the girls behind the counter communicated that it would take about 30 minutes for our order to be ready which was understandable seeing as how it was only their second day open and only like 2 baristas and the place was packed. My girl and I ordered a biscoff cookie latte and the banana matcha. I'm not a huge matcha person but my girl would not stop hyping it up! I tried some of it and the banana cream ontop was so good. My coffee was also really good! The coffee itself was insane and then the creamy biscoff top was even better. That 30 minute wait was worth it. While we waited, we sat down inside played board games and there was a nice breeze coming in through the open doors so it wasn't hot at all given the number of people in there. Not so bad for a brand new spot. We will definitely be coming back here. My husband and I ordered iced lattes with cold foam, but they were served with Frappuccino-style lids instead of sip lids for the cold foam. I politely asked the tall brunette woman behind the counter if they had cold foam lids, and she responded very rudely and dismissively with, "We're out of them," before immediately turning away.
