I know everyone has different experiences but I've been at Beachcomber going on my 14th season. Are there times when I'm not happy about something, , yes, who isn't it's normal. but I will say this. Beachcomber is an awesome place. The staff and my neighbors and other seasonals are like family. There are rules and regulations everywhere and need to be. That being said, once again they came thru for me. I am 73, and I took a pretty good fall. I called the front desk, told them what happen and I had security guards, you know who you are, with a medical background here in minutes. Checking on me, asking to call an ambulance and they didn't leave until they were sure I was OK. My neighbors checked in and one even made me dinner the next day. Thank you All! Say what you may Beachcomber rocks! Even with the bad storms they were right on it. It is a safe place, a nice family owned campground. Ive see some people checking in being not so nice to the reservation clerks, life guards, activity directors and so on. Try being nice sometime and you will be treated with respect in return . Nice campground but unfortunately aggressive towards EV owners. I've stayed here for roughly a month total in the last year or so and was warned early on that they believe charging EVs (even just trickle charging from 15 amp receptacles) will damage their electrical system. While this is an obviousfallacy especially for overnight charging when electrical demand is lower. It seemed the campground was attempting to be accommodating by installing an EV charger at the gate and more recently another at the main pool. This is apparently more of a price gouging move than a genuine attempt at supporting EV owners. The rate they charge is more than triple the prevailing electricity rate. It's even more expensive than the Superchargers a mile or so away at the courthouse. The reason I use the word aggressive to describe this EV politics is because despite not having a single mention of it in their extensive rules they diligently police the property to the point of entering peoples sites to check if EVs are plugged in then taking pictures of them, to come back and confront you later about it. When I'm spending thousands of dollars to stay at a campground on vacation I don't appreciate being lectured over a few bucks worth of electricity nor having my site entered and my privacy invaded to check enforcement of a rule that isn't even listed as a rule except possibly under the section that says they can add more rules at anytime. (Yes they literally have a rule that says that.) The campground facilities are generally nice but there's a lot of nice campgrounds in the area especially at this premium price point. If your an EV owner feel free to enjoy the site just be aware of the aggressive policies and privacy invasion that will come with staying at this location. Campgrounds understandably need to pick their battles and apparently this one has chosen to fight against EVs, police their charging and gouge them on electricity rates. read more

This place used to be amazing. The owners cared about their customers and it felt like family. That has all changed with the new generation. If I could give 0 stars I would. They treat seasonal owners horribly on a regular basis but this weekend was an all time low. They locked dozens of seasonal campers out that were PAID IN FULL until September 15tb with NO WARNING on a Saturday night. The reason given - deposits for NEXT YEAR were not paid. The owners and managers are total narcissists. You want to treat this like your second home and all of their ridiculous rules and their "don't like it leave" mentality make that impossible. I've heard great things about Ocean View, it may be time to make the move. read more

Many years have gone by since I camped at Beachcomber Camping Resort. It was my favorite place to bring my children then ...and still is my favorite now ! Camping has changed over the years but the friendliness, cleanliness, family atmosphere at Beachcomber is just how I remembered. I brought my 6 year old grandson for his first camping experience. Pulling up and being handed the keys to my cabin, to my surprise, I had been given a Lakeside cabin with a spectacular view. I was overjoyed and my grandson was in awe! The very next morning, a staff member pulled up in a golf cart and had a gift card for me....what a sweet gift to receive in the morning...they made me feel like a queen! The entire time I was there, I had everything I could possibly need, the activities were so fun and professionally done...we loved the beach karate class and making our own ice cream!!! To note, people complain about the tiniest things and it's those people who have to put in a review. I witnessed it while in the office! This is camping. It's supposed to be fun. It'll never have all the accommodations of home. The staff works hard. The place is beautiful. Yes, there are rules and they are simple to follow and meant for the safety of the campers, ....please take that to heart!. Do yourself a favor...check out Beachcomber!!! Horrible experience, particularly with the staff and the manager, Don. Have never experienced this type of behavior from someone who should be professional. Was accused wrongly of something and when that was voiced, the manager stormed off and brought the police back to escort us off the property. It was very clear from the police their stance as they offered recommendations for better campgrounds. After reading plenty of similar reviews, it's obviously a trend from this person. The office staff and security were terrible. I told them I was worried my son was lost and they were more concerned that my bicycle was on the sidewalk than helping me locate him. The rental was sufficient for our time there but there were no cooking materials (pots, pans, etc) when we entered there was an overwhelming scent of Lysol. My son slept on the loft and has since had an allergic reaction to the dust and or mold that must've been up there. They offer free Wi-Fi at the pavilion in the center of the campground. We stayed in a teepee but the only thing i can complain about is that the bottom of the teepee is mesh so its open and we had alot of ants but besides that we loved it and will definitely go back! read more

I come here every year with my and aunt and uncle I love it here it is so much fun there is so much to do the workers are nice and kind. I will Always recommend to other people also they always have a lot of activities to do at any time. I fell very safe here and I love it and you can make a lot of friends here and also have so much fun with them and you can win prizes and you can take golf cart rides go to the lake go to the pools and at the end of my site there is a pond and you can feed the fish and turtles also you can go in the back and you can like at the teepees and at night you can go looking around the pond for a lot of cool insects like frogs. And at the lake there is sand and fish very little is a playground that I grew up in and there is a food court thing next to it and they have the best food. read more

My wife and I stayed at Beachcomber Camping Resort for a week. We had a great time. We arrived after the office had closed due to traffic delays on our trip. It was not an issue. The office staff called before they closed to inquire about our ETA. They had a check in packet set outside the office for us. We talked to a security guard at the gate who gave us directions to our site. While the roads are not wide, there was plenty of room to negotiate the turns. Our motorhome is just over 30 feet long. I backed into our site without any problem. There's a long concrete pad for a patio. The campsites are well maintained and large enough to park our suv that we tow behind our rig. We are here for Halloween festivities, I brought my golf cart. They tell me it's an LSV (low speed vehicle) and not a golf cart. And that is because I added seatbelts to the rear seat and a headlight kit with turn signals. I know for a fact that there are other golf carts here that have the same equipment and they've been here multiple times. My GOLF CART is not equipped to be an LSV. It does not go more than 20mph per NJ MVC regulations, it does not have a mechanical speedometer, it does not have a 17 digit VIN number, it does not have a title or registration. It does not have the proper reflectors and triangles anywhere on it. Now, it sits in a storage lot on my trailer instead of me being able to take my son trick r treating with it this weekend. I don't know why the people who work here singled me out. I will never come here again. read more

We have been coming here for 5 years, and this will be our last time. First, we were originally put in a site that was way too small for us. I tried to back in and damaged my truck on the pylons as I tried to back in. They gave us a new site which was fine, but we were next to some people that were loud, partying, and playing loud music all night.. when we complained, the best we' got from security was that they'd already had a run in with them and they wouldn't be back. So 3 nights of their bullshit. When we go camping we want outdoors and quiet. This is not the place for that. If you want lord partying, drinking, and pot smoking, come here. read more

A complete rip off! Just for your own children to visit your site for the day it is $90. 2 day minimum for Halloween weekends so $30 apiece $30 to bring in a car. What a sham. A visitor is someone stopping by not staying over. Such greedy people should be a shame to charge people that much and have the nerve to say proceeds go to non profit yeah right. I'm very conflicted as I write this review. I don't like giving bad reviews, and this place does have some good features. The pools are very nice as is the lake. The activities are varied and engaging. It is close to everything. That's all I can say that is positive. We had to pay $10 per day for a second car. We were then told the car can't stay on the site and had to move to a parking lot. They said it was fire code. I never heard of such a thing, but if they didn't charge me for the car, I'd be ok with it. Then we put up a canopy. We were at the pool and upon retuning, we found a red card on our table explaining that canopies are only allowed on the concrete pad, which was taken up by my trailer. The canopy was in a grassy area next to the trailer. I was told that underground wires could lead to electrocution if we staked the canopy down. That sounded very sketchy. As my son said, "this is the nicest campground that we will never return to. read more

I've been camping here for 5,6 years. The campground is clean and secure and everyone is friendl. They have 3 pools and a big lake for you to swim in and keep cool. I highly recommend Beachcomber to relax and enjoy you next vacatio. read more

First & foremost a last-minute trip, was able to book 2 days before. Price was high ($96 a night) for having own equipment, (hence why I think there was a lot of empty transient sites). So, my gf and son wanted to come for a night to visit, but they stated she had to be there all 3 nights, then it would cost $10 PP PER NIGHT and $10.00 for the car (per day). I told her, don't even bother. Brought MY golf cart, and ok, it is what is at $10. a day for that, BUT then $10 a day for the vehicle to tow it with and $10.00 a day for the utility trailer to bring it on. So, I live close enough that my adult daughter dropped it off / picked it up and was not even allowed to go through gate to turn around. RIDICUALOUS. Facility: Beautiful pools, nice lake, beach and playground, SITES ARE VERY VERY VERY VERY SMALL, YOU WILL BE NEW BEST FRIENDS WITH YOUR NEIGHBORS! Did not use any bath houses, but the folks that were cleaning were personable when you passed them, they always were friendly and said hi. Seasonal Park models, most are absolutely gorgeous. Guess they don't mind paying an arm and a leg to be seasonal and then for guests to come pay to see them. Let's get to the staff of Beachcomber now. Check in/out ladies were nice, but the guys the gate and security not so much. The guys riding around on golf cars, not so much, no friendly demeanor whatsoever. A guy was cleaning the fire ring at site next to ours and I asked him a question, and you may have thought I was asking him for a million dollars. Unreal how unfriendly the staff is (not something new either, I read many reviews - was hoping for a fluke). Let's get to our last night. Was visiting a friend's site on our golf cart when the lights decided NOT to work. We were literally on our street headed back to our site (bc lights stopped working) and an overweight slobby guy says, "turn your lights on". We explained they stopped working and we were taking cart back to site and we were only a few sites up he was absolutely MISERABLE demeanor like he thought we were lying. My husband and I would never drive around like that intentionally especially with our 8-year-old child on the back. Personally, I think some customer service classes would really benefit 3/4 of the staff here and having good friendly employees starts with the OWNERS AND MANAGEMENT!! I know I am not the only the only one giving negative reviews and if they don't fix this, I would hope everyone who experiences it will STOP going there and continue to give candid reviews. As a manager myself, customer facing employee morale and demeanor reflect everything in a business. Disappointments: Beach and pool opening/closing times (too late/too early for "Summer"), no inflatables or tugboat rides "pandemic" related. Ugh! Will I suggest this place, probably not. Will I come back, most likely not. My family has been coming to beachcomber for a few weekends, every season, for 3 years. I cannot say enough about our service. The desk, the groundsmen, security, and event staff. I always feel safe. If I call for any assistance, its offered. During COVID, they took proper precautions. First time staying here post labor day, campground was amazingly clean and had beautiful flowers everywhere felt like a Florida resort. The sites are tight to back into, but once in they are fairly generous in size. Only negative for our stay was the sewer hookup. There were no threads on our sewer hook up so our elbow going into the sewer receptacle happy falling out . They had a number of adaptors threw money at. Still didn't work. Maintenance came and looked and said we need a sewer donut, state law new Jersey thing. Neighbor did not need one. Anyway the problem never got solved and dumping was a nightmare. Anyway. Next time will check sewer connection. Will be going back read more

I do not recommend this campground. From overpriced nothing special sites. To super tight streets. No campsite WiFi. Cable does not have any channels. Sites are nothing special. Security will knit pick rules and make new ones as weekend goes on. Changed noise time from 11pm to 1030 on Memorial Day Weekend. Very unhelpful staff. Reservation process is the worst. Don't know site until you arrive. Nickel and Dime you to death. Charge extra for second vehicle with 3 day minimum (they will not tell you this in the phone. They will surprise you when you arrive). Their seasonal campers with park models will cry and complain with anything and everything you do. And let's not talk about speed limit. Will pick who to yell at for speeding on a golf cart while full size vehicles are flying through. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else. Plenty of other choices. read more

Buyer beware. Their website offers a lot of amenities but they don't tell you it's only from 9a to 5p on the weekends. The pool is swim at own risk. The lake must be lifegaurded to use (swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding) even with a signed waiver. Themed weekends are pay to participate. ​ The price does not match the experience. I wouldn't even give this place 1 star. We stayed in the 6 people cabins and there were bed bugs on the beds. It was our first night there and we all got eaten up. Next day we ask for the issue to be addressed and the person in charge was very rude. We asked to be moved to a different cabin and they told us there were no other cabins available, so we asked to be refunded our money and they told us that we had to leave for them to refund us our money. Keep in mind we were about 3 hours from home, we had planned this trip for weeks and the rest of our family was in another cabin. We couldn't just leave. Stayed in a rental teepee at BCR for a week-let's break it down: THE GOOD: Cape May is a beautiful place to vacation. Although you won't be right in Cape May, it's a pretty easy drive to all of the Cape May beaches. You can ride your bike to Cove Beach in about a half hour. If you arrive on Friday or Saturday, you will be checked in fairly quickly. The teepee is equipped with a nice little fridge, electric heater, mini coffee pot and most importantly-AC! That was awesome during a hot summer week. It poured our first day there and other than some dampness around the door and a few drips, we stayed nice and dry. Beds were very comfortable. There is a nice deck where we sat out in the mornings. Bathrooms with shower are just a few feet away. I thought they were fairly clean and not crowded most of the time with. Hot showers were 5 min for a quarter. Bike path is right across the street. You can take a nice morning walk, run or bike ride. There is a big Shop Rite only a few minutes away. There is a pool and a little lake. We didn't use either because we spent all of our time bike riding or at the beach, but our family members with children did. A very nice staff member brought us the local paper every morning-rental units only. We had lots of wet towels and clothing after a rainy day-oversized dryers were available for a quarter and I had everything dry in 15 minutes. Staff was very friendly for the most part. Camp store has basics. THE BAD: Teepees and tent sites in general are way too close and crowded. Many of the sites had 6-8 people. I counted 9 sites I could see just from our little deck. Lots of people. We had a large group directly across from us and could hear pretty much everything. That being said, inside with the AC and fan on-you can't hear much. Very dangerous driving around-tons if kids riding bikes. Although they claim kids have to wear helmets and use lights and reflectors at night-this is not enforced at all. They have security riding around-but they do not stop these kids from endangering themselves or others. Golf carts too-lots of them. Drivers beware!! Outside of the deck, you have very little outdoor room. Lots of critters around-some ants in the teepee, squirrels, sea gulls- so you will want to make sure you don't leave food around. We had wasps building a nest in the deck which was reported to the office. As far as I know, it was never attended to because they were active for the whole time we were there. Ground in the area was not raked out. There were lots of little wrappers, bottle caps, etc. Garbage cans had teeth marks on them. Don't leave anything outside because critters will be running around your stuff before you wake up. Furnishings inside the teepee could be updated-plastic camp table, lamp and two kitchen chairs. THE UGLY-Garbage is a huge problem. Not so much at the teepee, which had a garbage can. But the other sites do not. People leave their garbage out at night or early in the morning. Birds and animals get into it-one morning we were woken up by a half dozen squawking gulls feasting across the road. One day when we were around, garbage pick up was around 1 p.m. Over crowding and noise was the other problem. On our last day there, a screaming fight broke out at a neighboring site in broad daylight that had to be broken up by security. Yikes-not my idea of a relaxing vacation. Overall, I would not recommend BC. The teepee was expensive and we probably could have done Airbnb for just a little more. The tenting area is way too crowded. I had family members in the RV sites and they had way more privacy. Cleanliness was a little sub par. read more

I'm posting a photo of a product for sale in their shop: "BLACKFACE SOAP." This should tell you something about the people who own this "resort." Customer service was either helpful and pleasant (to me in person) or extremely rude (to my family in person and to me on the phone). Their "store" is a joke; it's filthy and sells very little that you'd want to buy. Their "fire rings" are old rusty wheel rims. They have no cooking grill, so I had to buy one in their shop. Site quality varies widely. You might get lucky, you might not. Bathroom facilities are inadequate, and perhaps due to so much use, are not kept clean. The main pool was filthy and full of sand. Do they ever clean it? Won't be back. read more

Most Incompetent and rudest employees I've ever encountered at a vacation resort!! On arrival the "security" people stand there staring at you like you just committed a crime. If you dare ask them a question, you typically get a rude one or two word grumpy old man response. The office staff are just as rude and uncaring about your questions or concerns. We asked a store clerk person about an activity (time/location/details) that was listed on a sheet supplied to one of the campers in our group and they had no idea what we were talking about and no interest in getting any info for us. We were eventually told the activity was canceled when in reality it wasn't as we later found out. They will nickel and dime you from start to finish and you'll be glad to get out of there and never come back!! There are other campgrounds in the area, you would be wise to stay at one of those or in a hotel/motel or dry camp at the Walmart 2 miles down the street. read more

We have vacationed there 4 times in the past 5 years and beside dealing with the very small roads when trying to park your RV it was ok. But it's the little things sometimes that makes you or break you. There was a situation where my grandchild when retrieving something from the truck, somehow locked my key in the truck. I said no problem I have AAA so I contacted Beachcombers front desk to make them aware of what happened and that I was expecting AAA. I know these calls sometimes takes a while but I was at my campsite so waiting wasn't an issue. Until the tow truck driver finally got there and wasn't allowed to drive in or walk in to help me get into my vehicl. The tow truck driver called me and explained there was an issue with some papers and liability forms. He explained that this was a common issue with beachcomber and no other campground in the cape may area. i walked to the office to speak with the manager and he made it sound like it was the driver issue. So called back the driver and he explained again that his company had submitted the paper work last year and earlier this year but for some reason beachcomber doesn't have their papers. I spoke with the manager again and he was very nonchalant the whole situation forcing me to play middle man between the campground and the tow truck company. After calling back AAA they dispatch another tow Truck and when the driver called I asked if he had the proper paper work from his company. He informed me he was from a different tow company and he shouldnt have an issue because they go through the samething with Beachcombers so they keep copies of the company insurance information. The nonchalant attitude towards my situation and forcing me to play mediator between the tow truck company I will never stay there again! read more

Me and my family have been coming here for the past few years and it's a nice environment, very kid friendly and has a lot to do with a nice big park, but the bathrooms are kinda dirty but i've seen many cleaning ladies cleaning them, which are very nice women but most of the lifeguards are rude. Also sometimes there are stray animals roaming around the resort, but is a very quick drive to wildwood or cape may beaches and boardwalks. read more

My group of friends and I stayed here against the backdrop of COVID, during the second phase of reopening. So, I want to begin by saying that I get it, some things were out of their control as to the the amenities that would be available. Nevertheless, there were many things within their control that made this stay very unusual and not rave worthy. First, LEARN HOW TO COMMUNICATE! We booked our stay through a Valentine's Day special, which included 2 bottles of wine. When we got here, no one knew what we were talking about despite our receipt, which showed the special. Once they figured it out, we were told an employee would bring it over to our campsite. Never came. We went back to the main office the next day to inquire about it and got the same response. Never came. We finally received our wine on the 3rd and final night. Get it together. Second, again, communicate! A sign was posted the entire weekend in front of the lake. Lake was open from 10am to 6pm. Kids got there ready to go at 10 and were scolded (and I mean SCOLDED) for going in the water. We called the desk to ask about the confusion and the woman told us that the lake would be open at 12. I informed her about the sign so she went to go ask someone and then got back on the phone and told us the lake opened at 11 (due to COVID). Fine. Came back at 11:30 and a bunch of people were in the water. We, too, went in. Then a life guard came out and scolded everyone for being in the water. Once again, the time was pushed to 12. Get it together. Third, ATTITUDE is everything. It seems like the only thing these employees were on the same page about was their complete disdain for camp goers. We were instructed to move one of our vehicles and then told it would be ok. We had a "manager" drive out to our site on the last day, hours before we were leaving and about to start packing, and told us to move one vehicle. My friend tried to let him know that she had spoke to someone already who gave her different information and this manager loudly interrupted her while she was speaking and repeated the order. We complied. Fourth, BATHROOMS. The main bathroom was disgusting and clearly not maintained for the majority of the day. There was another bathroom closer to the campsites but it was closed for "COVID." Thus, the entire campground was sharing one bathroom that was very far from the campsites. The reality is, yes it would be more difficult to have someone clean more frequently, due to the pandemic; therefore, having to maintain one bathroom is better than having to maintain two or more. However, campers PAID for certain amenities. Hire more people to do the necessary work if you are going to stay open. Pros about this experience were the company we kept at our campsite. We all had a blast. Cons: these people are very confused, not on the same page, and rude. Do not recommend. There are plenty of other camp grounds in the area. read more

Ill add another- Dont waste your time!! I felt uneasy from the first phone call after booking and it only got worse. Worst booking experience. Unorganized. Calling me with extra charges after ive fully paid with no explanation what the charges could be for. Tried to cancel my trip and find a different place to stay but i had already paid half the trip and they wouldnt refund me so i decided to try to go and make the best of it. Must have a "major credit card" to check in. Ive stayed in plenty of rentals and hotels and my regular visa bank card has always worked but it wasnt enough for these people. Rude and unfriendly staff. Too many rules. They needed my 10 month olds name on the rental paper work for some unknown reason. Weird. Nickel and dime you once you get there as others have said. We didnt even want to stay once we checked in cause we felt so uncomfortable we didnt even want to touch anything. I felt i was being watched. They even have tire spikes you have to cross to exit the park. What the heck are they so worried about happening on their camp ground that they needed to install tire spikes?! Must of used all the money they rack up from nickel and diming their customers to install those spikes too. All in all dont give them a penny of your money. They dont deserve it. For me camping is actually hiking into the woods a few miles, no electric or water, pooping outside, and all that good stuff. While you can pitch a tent at Beachcomber (giggity), it's more of a family RV resort. Even though it was not my cup of tea, and I've never been to a RV resort, I do give credit where credit is due. A group of some friends invited us, so we rented one of the two room cabins. Small fridge, Tiny TV, AC/Heat, coffee maker, microwave, regular toilet, super small sink, screened porch, fire pit, and grill. Beds were decent. Showers were a short walk away. Not quite a hotel room, but hey you're supposed to be "roughing it", so it works. For those who want more, you can rent upgraded mini houses that have it all; the pics look pretty nice. BTW, we went on a popular weekend and I did not see one skunk, or any garbage strewn about as another reviewer stated. So that was either an off weekend, or they took care of both of those issues. In fact, I was surprised to see some cleaning crew wiping down the white fences that are around each cabins. Everyone, guests and staff, were SUPER NICE. The grounds, bathrooms and showers were CLEAN. The cabin was CLEAN. They cater to kids, and have a ton of activities for them. Two breweries are a bike ride away. A WaWa, movie theater, and Lowes are 1.5 miles away. Cape May center and beach are pretty close, like 10-15 min. The onsite general store has pretty much anything you might have forgotten, and the prices are reasonable. Not sure if its just on the big checkout days, but they had free coffee and free homemade stew. The only semi negitive comment was that they sell small bundles of firewood for $5. That seems like gouging to me. But they do deliver it right to your site. So maybe for those that don't need much, it's fine. I brought my own firewood with me. Beachcomber is definitely more for families and people who like to RV. Even though thats not my thing, it was an enjoyable weekend and they do a good job! read more

My family stayed at the Beachcomber Campground for 12 days in August of this year. I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews but we booked the site anyway. WOW! We are so glad we stayed at the Beachcomber! We have been RV'ing for over 30 years and I would put this campground at the top of the list. Great sites, clean and maintained grounds, pools, beach, lake, bath houses and all other grounds. I tried to think of one thing that I could offer my advice for improvement but I could not come up with anything. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Amenities were excellent. Events for kids, adults, and families were numerous and fun. My family wanted to stay longer but there was no availability as this campground is apparently very popular. We found the location of the campground especially convenient. Only a very short distance to Cape May and Wildwood plus many other popular venues. My family enjoyed Beachcomber so much we are seriously considering a seasonal site (if I am lucky enough to find one available) in 2024. Unrealized potential. Good campsite ranging from super small bumper-to-bumper campsites to larger campsites the far end, but could be good. For me it's very difficult to get beyond the skunk situation I sat up late at night as I always do around the campfire and I must have counted four or five different skunks I practically sat in the corner as close to my RV as possible in fear of being sprayed quite often I like to take a walk late at night but I was in fear of being attacked everywhere you turn you saw skunk. There are a ton of amenities playgrounds basketball courts swimming pools the kids had a blast and during the day you'll enjoy yourself once the night Falls be prepared for the skunk attack. The staff really seemed rather ambivalent and just went through the motions. The place is fairly clean an extremely large good for walking and biking around on flat ground. Of course the big attraction must be Cape May and the Wildwood Boardwalk which you are extremely close to. The potential is there but I will never come back. read more

Horrible treatment by security, repeatedly harrassed, ruining our weekend over stupid things like parking in a overflow lot in the exact spot management told us to, and threatening to call cops and remove us from the campground if we didnt move when we explained this, in a sight our car had been in for 5 days, at 1130pm. I will never stay here again, not worth ruining your vacation because of rent a cops with nothing to do. Update: after speaking with daytime management, the general manager knows about the problem and this is a regular almost daily occurrence and that the security is family of the owner and they will not do anything about it. This verified it wasnt just us, but that doesnt make things any better. They actually recommended we go to another competing campground next time rather than resolve the issue. But, not so much as a sorry about the problem. I'm glad they have so many customers they don't care about how they treat them. read more

First off, this campground is beautiful and clean. Resort status worthy. They do charge a lot for this, and then nickel and dime you when you get there. There are very many seasonal sites, but they mostly group the transient people together which is nice. My family camps with a group of friends several times a year. We never have a problem reserving groups in other camp grounds. Beachcomber states that they do not guarantee sites upon booking, but they did not even try to get our group together. We arrived super early hoping to be able to have a site close to our group of 4 other families. We were placed on the other side of the campground from 3 of the other families, a 9 minute walk. There were no golf carts available to rent, and they WOULD NOT let you bring your car to visit another camper's site because of some weird 1 car at a site policy that absolutely no other campground enforces (we tried and they made us move). There were not open parking spaces within a closer proximity to even park and walk. The strange part was, they put a stranger in the middle of the group who had just booked earlier in the week and arrived several hours after we did. They had unreliable hotspot interent service, and a paid wifi if you chose. They have a weird cable tv system that you need to get a cable box to hook up a tv. You need to put down a (refundable) deposit for this which was fine, but the box only worked for 1 tv. The way our camper is set up, it was not easy to move the box from the bedroom to the outside tv to watch the race as a group on Sunday afternoon. At most other campgrounds you just hook up the cable line to the outside of the camper and it runs on all of the tvs easily. We were delayed on leaving Monday morning because the office did not open until 9 am to return the cable box, which caused us to be stuck in the Memorial day traffic, adding an hour and a half on to our trip home. Not thrilled about that either. So maybe if you are camping solo this campground would be good, but definitely not for a group. (Several other families/groups were grumbling about this over the weekend, too). We will not be returning. Holly Shores across the street was much more accommodating. read more

This review is strictly based on the open field they put tents in. There should be a heads up on this and I called and asked specific questions! If you have a tent and want any type of seclusion/remote/privacy this isn't the place for you. If you prefer to camp out in a tent in Yankee Stadium you will love it! Too bright, too noisy, too many people, too many dogs barking, too close to the road, loud music, store, golf cart rentals , firewood area, pool etc. for the price they charge there should be better tent accommodations. I asked if there were other options and the clerk laughed. Can I give -stars? Ugh loud drunk annoying people up late into the night and security does not enforce quiet hours in the tent area! Spent a lovely week here. The campground facilities are clean as well as our site. There's so much to do from lake activities, fishing, swimming, boating, 3 swimming pools, an adult clubhouse, and various sports. There is also activities put together by the campground to enjoy such as bingo, bonfires, and parades. I would definitely recommend renting a golf cart because this is a big area! The campground is beautiful with plenty to offer. The laundry facilities could use an update, shouldn't have to spend over ten dollars in quarters on one small load of laundry to properly dry. Would have gave this place more stars if the customer service wasn't horrible. Right as we pulled in, we were literally yelled at by a staff member for being in the wrong parking area. It was our first time there! We had no idea!! We were greeted with nasty attitudes from grumpy ladies behind the counter. The overall attitude from all staff seemed to point to us guests feeling like burdens that were there to make them miserable. I think a good customer service training session with each staff member could turn this nice place into a 5 star stay. read more

Families of young children look somewhere else. My family of 4 camped in a camper over Father's Day weekend into the week. Besides the outrageous prices, nothing opens until 12pm. You aren't allowed in the pool, the lake, and you can't even launch your own boat to fish until a "lifeguard" is on duty. mind you the "lifeguard" is only in one spot long the lake. they can't view the entire lake for boating. And they have NO life guards at the pool. They have a sigh at the pool saying " you are the best one to watch your kids." you aren't allowed guests due to "Covid" their rules are absurd and make no sense. It says they offer military discounts and upon checking in they claim it ended the day prior. Of coarse. They are rude, and unhelpful. Go somewhere else. read more
