Heated pool
Suzamne R.

I celebrated my son's 20th birthday here and just wow...the owners thought about everything. We took advantage of the heated pool during some unexpected cool weather, we grilled and I made a full breakfast. I think I had the best sleep ever in my super comfortable bed. My family and I were so happy with our stay, we can't wait to go back.

Found roaches in my bed. Not acceptable and needs to be dealt with. Employees were rude and not helpful at all.

My partner & I truly enjoyed this quick getaway to Cape May. Icona is on Beach Drive, right across…read morethe street from the beach (as the name implies). I've stayed at their Diamond Beach location, but this was my first time here. Let me mention the most enjoyable employees first. Chet was at the Front Desk when I checked out. He was by far the most friendly person I interacted with at the front desk. Some of the females were a bit...... unfriendly. If you chose to work in a customer service position it's probably best to have a sunny disposition. I think Cape May needs to address that. Tarik/Tajik? He was the young men who helped EVERYBODY get their chairs and umbrellas to the beach. He was WORKING! Yet, he always remained pleasant. And lastly, the gentleman driving the shuttle was very pleasant. He picked us up/dropped us off about 4 times. He was also servicing the Mahalo (and Icona resort) so he had his work cut out for him! We REALLY appreciated him as it was pouring one night and he came to pick us up and bring us back to the hotel. That amenity is CLUTCH! Overall, it's a nice hotel. Clean, a beautiful small bathroom, a cute little kitchen area, a small pool, and parking. Somebody mentioned the room was small, but to me it was a decent size. The balcony however, now THAT was small. Just enough room for the 2 of us to sit out there side by side and chill. I did see larger balconies out by the pool (facing the beach) so I guess you get what you pay for (larger room perhaps; suite). The AC however, is loud. It's not a window unit, but one of those wall units. I'm glad I brought my earplugs, otherwise I probably wouldn't have slept. And speaking of sleep, the bed is not what I am used to when I visit a hotel; especially a higher end boutique hotel. It was uncomfortable to me. My partner however, had no problem sleeping and did not feel it was uncomfortable. So.... roll the dice. The pool is tiny. Or shall I say, smaller than the size you will expect it to be. But it works. I chilled in the pool for 3 days. It's a good spot to people watch and break from the sand of the beach. And once we parked, we didn't have to move the car. Cape May is very pedestrian friendly. We walked and rode bikes every where we went. I love it. It was a great getaway. Check it out.

They traditionally take the form of a large family home with a limited number of rooms and offer hospitality services on a personal level. Located in the historic district of Cape May, the B&Bs are upscale accommodations, mostly Victorian houses. Situated off of Ocean Street, the Queen Victoria is very popular, decorated with period antiques and furniture. They feature AC for the summer and a gas fireplace in winter with delicious breakfast and afternoon tea. My partner and I stayed at the Hampton Court suite in the Prince Albert Hall on the Queen Victoria's grounds as first-timers this weekend. It definitely did not disappoint. The room was clean, cozy, quaint, at the right temperature, and had everything we needed. It was conveniently within a walking distance of the beach, shops, and restaurants. Bikes, beach chairs, and beach towels were provided to all guests. The staff were very nice and helpful, especially Samantha. We had arrived late after the front desk closed. She greeted us Saturday morning and was very informative. This establishment is an ideal choice for couples, weekend getaways with friends, and families with well-behaved children.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME !!!…read more My Sir (yes, I literally call him that because he is such a sexy Sicilian gentleman and always dresses to the 9's!) is taking me away here for my birthday. It's my first one with him in my life :) I was blown away when we walked up to the main house, toured inside of ours, had tea, a cozy night and breakfast. He breakfast was nithing shoet of amazing! The star was the Blueberry Stuffed French Toast casserole - like OMG insanely delicious!!! I kind of had three servings! Many other perfect choices too, like English muffins, fruit, yogurt, granola). Our room is done in dark reds and boasts cherrywood. Also, beautiful prints and furniture. We had a romantic evening with the jacuzzi, (gas) fireplace and cloud cozy King sized bed! Stellar service from all - Sam and Amanda in particular. They do A LOT here! We MAY leave the room today, lol. Walking Washington Street is a possibility. MAYBE the Zoo... I lived in Cape May many moons ago. A definite place to visit- you will always have somewhere to go and somewhere to eat! Splurge on the decadence of The Queen Victoria!!! You're worth it!!!

The rooms, grounds and pool area are kept immaculate and so beautifully decorated in a beachy vibe. Parking is plentiful for guests. Lena is so sweet and helpful, Franco is very nice and they obviously love this property and take pride in keeping it lovely. They have a washer and dryer on premises, barbeques for guests to use, everything is just perfect and gave us a true sense of relaxation, fun and peace. We recently lost my soul pup Vito, who had medical needs that kept us from traveling for five years, and we were so happy to secure a pup friendly room with a kitchenette to accommodate our 15 year old Pomeranian Rocco. This stay helped heal our broken hearts. The suite smelled fresh and clean, bright and airy, I cannot say enough great things, Rocco loved it too can't wait to return!

We arrived on Friday afternoon and hadn't even been there for an hour when Franco came out of his office twice to scold us for 1) Playing music through a Bluetooth speaker (playing, not blasting) because we needed to be mindful of other guests. I'd like to say here that it was 4 PM and no one else was around. If another guest had come out to say something, fine, but that didn't happen. He then came back outside because 2) "I'm not trying to bust your balls (yes, he said that) but you can't bring furniture outside from the room. We have a beautiful courtyard in back. Why don't you go there?" "Because there's no electricity back there." "What do you need electricity for?" "To plug in our speaker." And why did we even need to have that conversation? It put such a damper on the start of our weekend. We are a long time group of friends, ages 72, 71, 67, 66, and 64. Everywhere you turn there's a list of rules. Don't move the rocking chairs. Don't do this, don't do that. Quiet hours are 10 pm to 8 am, Franco. Not 4 pm on Friday. And barking dogs woke me at 7:30 this morning. That's acceptable? And it's a shame that this is how the owners operate their business. The room was clean and the inn is in a great location, but I prefer to stay where I'm not being monitored and scolded like I'm an unruly person. Look at the list of rules. "Relax and have fun?" How?

I'm not kidding. It's so friendly and beautifully decorated that you will compare every other properties to this one and you'll be disappointed. We discovered The Harrison in 2016 and have been coming back every year since in our anniversary. This year, we brought friends to stay with us. The house is a beautifully renovated with white paint covering the gloomy dark wood you find in other Victorian houses. The owner's interior design company, Evan James, really has a remarkable eye for design and decorating, really rivaling anything on HGTV! Lodging: rooms are small, but luxurious. Each bathroom is fully renovated with marble floors and beautiful vanities. The rooms are beautifully decorated with glamorous wallpaper and sparkly/furry pillows. Food: Breakfast is served from 8-10 and each day you get a choice of savory or sweet. Yeah, it's as amazing as the pics look. Afternoon tea is served every day from 4-5 pm, with a scone or cake and homemade cookies. Port and sherry and tea/coffee are available in the pantry, as well as sodas and water in the fridge available 24/7. The staff are also wonderful- Jean has been there in the house through several owners and is full of fun energy! She even sings and dances :)! Susan is also a wonderful host. If you're looking for a romantic weekend away and want to be spoiled, this is the place for you!
