They had me camp right next to the dumpsters and they were not efficient in picking it up so the warm scent of garbage was wafting over my campsite during my stay. Bathrooms were kept decently clean. I didn't appreciate that they have coin showers. If I'm paying nearly $50 a night to camp I think a free shower is reasonable. They have some bullshit sign on the wall that they charge for showers to reduce water use. Yeah, sure. Very believable. read more

We been coming to this campground for almost 30 years. It was always pretty terrific. However in the last couple of years they've really stepped it up. First, when you arrive the new reception area, store, and café are top notch. In addition the new mini golf does not envy any professional grade mini golf anywhere in the area. Next, the pool is still terrific as the lake. However, they've added additional programming throughout the weekend, and even some into the week. The bathrooms are immaculate. The actual rental property was well maintained and clean upon arrival. But that's where the positives ended. While the floors had been swept, they had not been cleaned, my kids all had black feet. The bigger issue was we had nothing to clean them up with. We had a broom....with no pan. Over all I would have liked more cleaning supplies in the unit. The hot water heater was such a small tank I couldn't give consecutive baths without waiting an hour before we had more hot water. Bath mats would have been nice too. As far as the amenities go the pool area was well kept and the kids play area was awesome. Unfortunately there were women in thongs....at the kids splash pad. Just not appropriate, it's clearly a family resort not an adult one, but that's the crowd you get I guess. The lake is a great idea but after finding numerous shards of glass all around the water and playground, that was no longer an option. My kids were literally picking up chunks as they dug in the sand. So unsafe! And the kicker was the whole place reeked of pot! So much so that we didn't feel comfortable riding the tram around the park for something to do. To be fair OC is becoming this way too which is turning me and many others off from Jersey completely. Our best activities were going to the beach, and the zoo, the bonus there is that they were close by. I was optimistic about our stay as I am familiar with the campground and area shore points but I will not be coming back. It's a shame. The staff are very nice and friendly, the location was good and the idea of having so many options for things to do is great but quite frankly, the other patrons ruined it for one reason or another. As a new travel trailer owner I've only been to a few campgrounds but so far the OV has been the best one. You can't beat the beach/lake, it really made me feel like I was on vacation. Our site was B25, it was spacious and easy to back into. Very short walk to the lake. Due to covid the pool was still closed but it looked nice. I can't wait to go back with my son when the kiddie water park area is open. We will return. read more

Ocean View Resort Campground is a large campground located outside of Sea Isle City NJ exit 17 off the parkway. The location is great, 10 minutes from the beach. Located near several golf courses and perfectly situated 2 minutes from the busiest Wawa in the country. Positives: Beautiful pool with children's area. Onsite general store with everything you could possibly need. Onsite laundromats. Beautiful lake with a tremendous beach Volleyball, tennis courts Clubhouse with several events throughout the season Clean bathrooms and showers (.25 cents for 5 minutes) Beautiful cabins for rent Negatives Steep prices, a relative has a camper setup and it wasn't inexpensive for the season yet the campground charges for guests....a bit ridiculous in my opinion. Many folks keep their camp area like a pig sty. Garbage and personal items scattered around their area. Worst hospitality at a campground I have ever experienced! My sister was staying here for a week so I came to visit the last day (as her paid guest). Morning of, she learns I won't be able to "check in" as her guest until 4pm (mind you, I was staying in her camper with her, I didn't have any extra equipment) but if that's the rule, fine. So she just gives me her car pass so I can drop my bag off, change for the beach, and head back out. They would not let my car in! They called the office to give a rundown of what I looked like instead, which was super uncomfortable and confusing to me. Nothing was explained and this is where I noticed the treatment towards me shifted. So then I pulled over to the office parking lot to figure out what to do and that's when I started getting harassed by the employees. One woman started SCREAMING my license plate number over and over again across the lot. The attendant and office workers were not helpful at all, acting like I was some murderer on the loose. I tried to diffuse the situation by saying I'd just leave my car in their large office lot & walk to their camper to change into my bathing suit quickly and they said I couldn't do that either! I wasn't allowed to STEP FOOT into the campground AT ALL. So I did ignore that crazy rule and told the attendant I'd quickly use the closest bathroom in the parking lot to change and be on my way out anyway. The attendant left his booth (with a line of cars waiting for him to let them past the gate...) to start to follow me!? I changed as fast as I could and honestly felt like a criminal the entire time, and go back to wait for my sister by my car in the office lot. The license plate screaming lady came back out again to start YELLING at me in front of everyone that I couldn't stay here / park here / be here until 4. I said numerous times I wasn't staying, I was waiting to meet with my sister and head to the beach. She did not listen and continued to SCREAM at me that I couldn't park there. Finally I made a snide comment about their AWFUL customer service (perhaps an inappropriate word thrown in because at this point I was upset, uncomfortable, embarrassed and frustrated) in which she said "if you didn't try and cheat us we wouldn't act this way!" I'm not sure where I ever tried to "cheat them" (as I was a paid guest, just trying to change into my bathing suit to leave again until 4pm check-in), but honestly how dare they talk to and treat their guests like this. I also heard her aggressively scream at multiple other guests in the parking lot, every one seemed as confused and turned off as I was by this odd behavior. I hope they decide to leave a review too, it was really uncomfortable for everyone! They treated me like I was a criminal the second I pulled up. It was rude. Uncalled for. Uncomfortable. I am still shaking even thinking about it! ( Also to top it all off, you have to pay for showers which is ludicrous at a campground.... and if we wanna talk about "who's cheating who" let's start there.) Credit where credit is due, the woman who did check me in at 4pm was a sweetheart. The campground is huge and decent, but seems to mostly be seasonals. We were harassed repeatedly by the seasonal campers. They continuously drove through our campsite over and over almost hitting our dog on two occasions. I tried speaking to the office about the situation but they did nothing. On the third day. It happened several times even to go as far as to drive through laughing at us while we sat at our campfire on our site. I had to pull my dog out of the way. I called the office again and the owner stops down. I explained what was going on and says to us ...." You have understand they are seasonals and it's Labor Day weekend. It's very busy". Been coming here now every year since 2014. Hands down the best campground we stay at out of all of our camping trips. The camp store is brand new as of last year and it is spectacular. The Olympic sized pool is very nice and the splash pad for the kids is large with a very cool pirate ship. All the sites are tree covered which is great because it keeps you outta the hot summer son. The bathrooms are new and are immaculate. If you are coming to the south shore of New Jersey this is the campground you need to stay at. read more

We just returned from a 4 day, three night stay arriving in our 28' travel trailer at this campground. While this campground has all the fixings to be a 5 star RV resort there were many areas that we felt fell a little short of our expectations compared to other campgrounds. The 4 star rating is based on cleanliness, price, and amenities that this campground offers and not on overall experience. However I will break down each element with it's own star rating. PRICE: 5/5 very affordable $53/night w/full hook up the weekend after Memorial Day LOCATION: 4/5: beaches are a short drive away and there's a convenient store nearby. SITE: 3/5: our site was adequate in size but a little on the small side compared to other campgrounds. It was also very tight getting our 28' in/out. Had we had had "neighbors" we would have had had great difficulty moving around as we did pull into/back out into other sites to maneuver in/out. AMENTIES: 5/5 there was a wonderful clear lake, a clean pool with splash park, a beach area, a fishing area, Laundromat, snack bars, arcade, store, ice cream shop, tennis court, playgrounds, and mini golf. STORE: 4/5 : While it was light on food items it excelled in everything else; water toys, accessories, floaties, camping/fishing supplies, toys to keep the kids entertained, clothes, etc It was by far one of the best camp stores and prices weren't bad either. POOL: 3/5: Pool was clean and loungers were provided. Bathhouse was in the area. Splash park beside pool. Everything was well maintained BUT the water was ice cold, there were some aggressive kids with no supervision, as well as very limited hours. The pool was closed upon our Friday arrival, despite being a sunny day with temps in the mid 70's BATHOUSE: 5/5: exceptionally clean, large, and modern. LAKE: 4/5: Clear water, large sandy beach area, but again very limited hours. Security rides around on bikes and will yell at you even for getting your feet wet during the "off hours" FISHING POND: 3/5: a bit of a drive from lower area campsites and no place to park if the sites at it are full. There's ALOT of rules....you MUST go to the office and get a free "permit" from them to fish. They charge a fee for fishing w/out it, not following the rules, or for harming any fish while you are de-hooking. MISC: 3/5: we did not participate in the mini golf, the ice cream shop keeps strange hours, as does the 2 snack bars. The playgrounds were clean and modern. Overall entire place is very clean and well maintained. The biggest negatives we encountered were boredom. No activities at all the weekend after Memorial Day. Their "season" starts later - the end of June, and is shorter than other campgrounds. The office/snack bar/pool/ and I believe the arcade all close at 5. Pool and lake keep strange limited hours as well. We were told at check in that there was a "tram ride" only to be told it wasn't running. After 5 pm you are on your own to find things to do as it's pretty dead. In the three nights we were there we had limited encounters with other friendly campers during the day but after 5 it was dead. No campfires or anything. I would have loved more social interaction, a game of bingo, or something! The rules here are a little crazy as well - no golf carts, very strict enter/exit procedures, only one car per campsite, etc. Have your plate handy at check in because they issue you a custom entrance pass. Check in is earlier but check out is earlier too so plan ahead! They are very firm in their rules and procedures so once you book there's not a lot of flexibility. On the plus side this is a HUGE campground with about 50% seasonal and 50% open sites. Expect to drive most places within the campground. The lake does have parking, as does the office and the pool. Not a bad place at all, just not as social or active as I expected, the strange hours, and lack of access to things after 5 pm really did disappoint. TIP FOR THOSE TRAVELING THE PARKWAY: price is $1.50 if going thru the exact cash lane (coins only). If you go thru the cash/ receipt lane you will pay per axel. We were charged $6 just because hubby got in the wrong lane when I had our cash out. read more

This place is a rip off, they nickel and dime you at every turn, which is sad because it could be a great place. First of all they charge "residents" thousands of dollars a season, but what do you get out of it? Three months of usage? And everything is closed until Memorial Day anyway (and you're lucky if everything is ready even by then). No lake, no pool, no nothing. Then there is the issue of not being able to sell your trailer or add to it once it is 20 years old. Why not? Who cares? It isn't like they fall apart, especially the way some people maintain them. If you want to build a "Florida room" on your trailer then you can ONLY use their people to do it, just another way they keep the money rolling in. Oh and the fees go up every year yet nothing new is ever offered. Guests have to pay to get in, they don't even give people XX number of guests included with the price they pay for the season. I could understand them not wanting people bringing car loads upon car loads of people in for "free", but let each resident have two guest passes, then charge for anything after that. It isn't like anything is free anyway, guests still have to pay for everything they use, to include the showers in the bathrooms. Then we can get to the minor annoyances, such as the bazillion kids everywhere. Yeah I get it, it is a "family campground", but they should have a month or even just a couple weeks after school starts where it is adults only; you know, for people who just want to relax without hearing kids screaming and parents yelling all hours of the day. And what is up with all the cameras near the entrance? What are they looking for. They have cameras pointed at your face when you pull in, they are pointed at your license plates, what are they looking for? The amount of goofy rules and hidden fess and other ways to make a buck off people is staggering. I only come here to visit my mom. I know some people are kind of "stuck" there, and some probably really enjoy it, but I would look long and hard at this place before signing any contract with them. read more

This place is 100% geared toward families, from nightly activities (movies, crafts, magic shows, dances) to the pirate ship themed splash park. There is a tram that will take you throughout the park, a filtered man made lake, arcade, ice cream shop, snack bar... you name it, they have it covered. And it is clean!!! It's a typical campground setting. They charge you to use the shower house, I paid to stay and now I have to pay to shower?? Ridiculous! There's not many activities through out the day for the kids. I left my gate card at my camper and had my son run it up to me the man at the security station was so rude about it and told me we should have inconspicuously exchanged it where he couldn't see???why ??? It's my card that has my license plate # on it. He just wanted to cause a problem. Typically each year my friends and I camp in the Poconos for Memorial Day weekend. This year, we camped at the Ocean View Resort campground. While the sites are a bit crowded, we found the amenities enjoyable (i.e. the lake, pool, bathrooms, fishing pond, mini golf, camp store, etc). However, I cannot see us returning for 1 reason... The customer service, we experienced, and here is why: 1) One day we arrived to the bathrooms near the 'E' loop to find no toilet paper in the stalls. When we called the office, we were advised the cleaning ladies "would get to it"... Getting to it it actually took hours... Very inconvenient when traveling with children. 2) While a person in my party was showering, the cleaning crew was heard commenting on how disgusting people are and if the lady in the shower would hurry up they could finish cleaning. Um, I don't disagree that some people are indeed disgusting, but this was very inappropriate conversation from staff. My friend was not the cause of the state of the bathrooms (which may require more timely cleaning) and waited/deserved her shower without ridicule from the staff. 3) After complaining about number 2 above, we returned with 3 young children needing to potty to find the bathroom doors locked due to cleaning... Not so convenient when traveling with kids. 4) And lastly, while waiting in a long long for ice cream on our last night, which wrapped into the camp store, we were asked to stand outside because the camp store was closing (um, no thanks, we will buy ice cream else where). Nice place, burnt in need of better customer service. Prices for most things are high also. read more

We used to stay here! We loved it here- The lake is clean & so is the beach area surrounding it. The tram car ride is a nice activity to have on site. The store is well stocked with both necessities, kids toys, decoration etc. They had a book swap in the store as well which we found to be useful. We REALLY always enjoyed our stay here. The ONLY reason we left was to get a permanent site elsewhere. Had we been allowed to get a permanent site at Ocean View we most certainly would have. The rules stipulated that your trailer had to be purchased from Them to have it stay year round. The cost to move it back and forth each season, plus the wear & tear on it made it a logical choice for us to camp elsewhere. That is the reason for 4 stars. We could not stay. That said, I would still highly recommend this place to other families who want to have a lovely vacation in a clean, safe & fun place. read more

2012 was the 50th year of staying there for me (The campground has been here 52 years). I stayed here when I was a kid and now I'm taking my kids here. The campground is clean, and the sites are spacious. This is the kind of campground that you use while traveling (like to the shore) more than true camping. If you don't want to go to the beach, they have a lake and pool. If you don't want to do the Sea Isle City or Ocean City events in the evening, the campground has movies and other activities in the club house. It's not the "Walt Disney World Campground" (that's why only 4 stars) but it is very useful for people who want to go to the beach but want a campground atmosphere. PRO: Lots of good sites with full hookups including analog cable. Lake for those days you don't want to go to Sea Isle City's beach Large Pool for those days you don't want to go to the lake. Great for kids to ride bikes without worrying about cars driving too fast. VERY CLEAN restrooms Security is serious CON: Ratio of permanent sites to transient sites is high, making this feel a little like a trailer park rather than a campground (but of course you may not care at all about that). SO MANY SIGNS telling you what NOT to do. I get the feeling that everyone staying there is a thief or vandal based on all of their warning signs. Security is serious (It's on the CON as well as the PRO because while it does make you feel secure, it also makes it feel a little like going through checkpoint charlie in Berlin or a federal prisoner. I have a properly registered vehicle and card, but I always wonder if they will stop me for some sort of rule they have about something. (but as I said, that does make it nice once you gain entry to know that others might have a hard time getting in.) But following all the rules and being reminded of them ALL THE TIME, makes a stay here a little less than relaxing. My suggestion is: once you get past the check-in process and settle into your site, pretend it's a) National Park Campground, b) State park Campground, or c) Walt Disney World campground and never read the rules in the book. Very convenient and clean campground. Has a huge lake with a nice sized beach, a pool, game room and a big store with just about anything you could need. Very large, I think they have about 450 spots which include rv (full hookups), tent sites and beautiful cabins that were all redone this year. The staff is very nice and helpful. They are about a 5 minute drive from sea aisle. It's a little pricey but well worth it for the location and all it has to offer. Also, all of the bath houses were redone last year, showers cost .75 cents for about 15 min. Overall, great place and very close to the beach. Family oriented as well. I just left today was not happy at all prices are a little to much they do have a nice big pool and splash park and a big lake for kids but only activities were movies at night and they did have candy bingo which you have to bring a candy bar to play they cant even give that for free had a DJ dance party but snack bar was closed so kids couldn't get ice cream also I think they could put hula hoops or something out beside a dj for kids a dog went to the bathroom at our site twice I told front office in the morning and my wife told them in the afternoon still not picked up I told office give me a bag I will do myself they were alright with me cleaning up someone else's dog shit you would think they would say no we are sorry no one came both times you asked so we will get now on the 3rd time you ask but no I cleaned it up myself pool and lake close at 7pm which is early do yourself a favor and try another campground read more

This place has everything- pool, lake, mini golf, store, deli/ice cream shop. My husband and I have a small motor home, so we stayed in that. We got there late so it was difficult finding our camp site in the dark. Bring a flash light. We actually stayed in the wrong site the first night (we were one over). The bath houses are just a short walk away. They are very clean. They have quarter operated showers, so bring your quarters. I used 3 quarters every shower. We went to the pool one day. We got there when it opened which you must if you want chairs. It was standing room only in the pool by noon so we left.... and no one was really using the bathrooms at the pool house if you know what I mean. It is conveniently located close to beaches. We chose wildwood which was further than the other beaches. There is a farmers market stand across the street from the campground, cvs and food store on 9 down the road, wawa which is walkable, and a rv store right when you enter the campground driveway. Everyone was nice. Oh yeah and 1 final note: there are skunks. Like BIG skunks that walk thru your camp site. Again.... bring a flashlight. read more

My friends camp here every season with their kids. Nice and safe place for families. However, whenever I try to visit I am treated like a criminal. I get that everyone needs to be checked in but the way the owner spoke to me (and my elderly Father) was so rude and disrespectful. I was appalled about Scott's rudeness and I told him about it when we were there last Sept. He replied, You cannot come in to have dinner with your friends and you must leave now!. I was more than happy to leave as I don't let anyone treat me or my elderly parents that way ever. Our family wasn't raised to be verbally abusive to anyone ESPECIALLY the elderly. He realized his behavior and did correct it when I pointed it out to him. Hence, I went in to have dinner with our family friends as I did not want to stand them up after they prepared all the food for us. However, next time I would prefer they come to our home nearby so we won't be subjected to such rudeness. Sad...nice place for families but they are super rude to visitors and assume all visitors are trying to cheat them out of $$$. Scott, some visitors honestly just want to break bread with good friends for a few hours and then head out to their nearby home for the night. When you pay that kind of money I want to be able to come and go during the season. Here you can't. The campground opens in April but just on weekends. OK, but you have to pay again for the weekend even though you are seasonal, that' just wrong! From Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend you are ok, but again after Labor Day they are only open during weekends until they close in October. Truely money hungry if you ask me. Don't even look here if you want to bring in your own park model because they won't allow it! You must purchase you r park model from them. If you sell your trailer the campground gets a percentage of what you sold it for. Come on it it your trailer why should they get a percentage too? Too many rules and regulations to follow. Always wondering if you are going to get in some sort of trouble for something stupid. I have seen people get in trouble for loud music, parking cars, and carrying on but do you have to get yelled at because your cooking smells bad when you steam crabs and shrimp. My husband and I and our three young children just stayed here over the Labor Day weekend for the first time And we had to cut our trip short two days because of the tropical storm that is going to hit the jersey coast. It started to get very windy and raining. And we said we better get out of here Before it gets worse. We thought the campground was very nice. We only got to use the pool for one day but it was very nice and big and the kids splash pad was very fun for my young kids. Did not get to enjoy everything else that the campground had to offer. But I was very disappointed when I went to ask them if I could possible get a credit for the remainder of our stay because of the bad storm about to hit that area and they said that they don't do that unless it's a state of an emergency. I think that is crazy for such a big campground that probably makes a lot of money because it's always so busy. I think they could have offered that to people that wanted to leave early because of the storm. Other then that issue the camp ground was very nice and we will think about staying here again. read more
