Made a reservation in February, paid full value of stay in June. After seeing bad weather day of reservation decided to cancel stay. Understanding policy is there would not be refunds at this point, but asked if the amount paid over the deposit could be returned or used as a deposit for a future visit, as was more than needed to be provided at booking. Expectation being just the deposit would not be refunded. Management called back, citing they do not do refunds and that the delay in paying for the reservation was a rationale for not returning the amount over the deposit value. Didn't seem correlated, they became combative and argumentative in an unprofessional manner escalating a situation that was a simple inquiry as to whether anything accommodating could be done. Just a simple warning don't pay more than the deposit as management will take your money and be angry if you ask for any of it back.

It took me 6 years to write this post, however, I am still angry about it. My grandma and family…read morehaving been camping here for years, even I have been camping here since I was a baby. So, probably since the 1970s. That is about 40 years! We have always felt happy about our time here, and it was a convenient place to stay close to the beach. We went from tent camping, to pop-up trailer, to a 32 foot trailer, which was an exciting leap for our family. The reason why I write this now is I still get mad as I drive past their location. The way it works is that if you own a seasonal trailer you make a deposit in winter. My parents did that. In 2020, of course no one knew what was going on. My parents as usual had asked if they could delay payment when they were collecting early that year until we could find out what the beach was doing. They were told no. So, we made the deposit. In June -July most of the beaches were basically closed down or minimal options to go on the beach or anything. We asked them if we could wait to still see what the beaches were going to do when we needed to make the full season payment. They basically told us "PAY UP OR GET OUT!" For years of loyalty, this is quite sickening. They gave my parents a week to get their trailer off the property and so we ended up having to sell it for a cheap amount because we didn't have anything to trailer it, and they wouldn't let us leave it on their property. They were unwilling and in my opinion extremely selfish to refund any or even part of our deposit. And what makes matters worse, if they weren't even willing to do that, they didn't even kindly offer as an alternative to comp a certain amount of stays there till it made up for the deposit. All, I can say is that I feel after this that they treat their customers like dirt because of their GREED. "Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed." ― Mahatma Gandhi

Hey campers!…read more Scenic Riverview is a beautiful campground. It is located on the Tuckahoe River and you can catch beautiful sunsets. However, if you have to deal with the owner of the campground, beware! She is a rude, arrogant person who lacks compassion and has no clue how to run a business. If you have a park model, you are stuck because she knows moving it is not cheap. She changes rules as she goes and definitely does not follow the same set of rules for all. People leave the campground, not because it is not a great place, but because of Kristie who causes drama for the campers!

Nearby is a gas station, a grocery store, and a few eateries so the location was very convenient and easy to find. Prices were reasonable and the staff went above and beyond at check in to explain their policies and were readily available to assist with your needs. There is a $20 cash refundable gate pass charge at check in. We were escorted to our site (upon request). They will also lend you their beach passes for a $20 deposit + $3 per day (used or not, in your possession) which is a savings of $2 over getting them at the beach. They have a store, a few wifi spots, and a nicely equipped gym. A koi pond outside the office/store is a nice place to sit and relax. Our site was large and clean and contained a fire pit and picnic table. The soil was sand based and flat which made leveling our trailer easy. We were surprised that our site was full hookup as we were told at time of reservation and at check in moments earlier that sewer was not available. There was also a clean bath house nearby, which could use some signage. The campground had a playground and doggie area - neither of which we used, a large pool with deck, and a snack bar open selectively ajacent to the pool. The pool area had umbrellas, chairs, and loungers as well as a smaller off to side gated area for smaller swimmers. The area surrounding the pool had a small flower garden and was quite pretty. However, the pool was NOT relaxing at all, as the music blared loudly, so much so that I couldn't talk to the person beside me. And the playlist was just awful! I did ask the lifeguard to turn it down (which they did) but it was still loud and annoyed me so much that I left. The pool was open till 4 weekdays, and 7 weekends. The campground was quiet and the staff and campers alike super nice, some of the nicest we've encountered actually. Outside of the beach there wasn't much to do as the season in NJ doesn't really start till July so I regretted not booking later so we could have taken in some activities, so that was a bit of a bummer. I'd stay here again in season. If you want to stay a few times off season ask about their gas saver program. It's worth it!

Very accommodating and CLEAN!!…read more Me and a group of my friends wanted to take a 5 day vacation to the Ocean City area but didn't want to spend the money it costs rent a hotel room.. While we do make good money for our ages we still didn't want to spend too much money on a place to stay. The price good not be beat! When we arrived, we were greeted by very friendly camp staff. The area we were given was neat and tidy. We all set up our tents and were good to go. I wish I could say more about the vacation, but since this review is about Frontier. I'll continue on about frontier.. 1. The showers/ bath house.. They were very well kept and clean.. I'm glad they had a dry area to keep your hygiene stuff in. The water is warm.. some campgrounds only have cold water.. The showers are nicely tiled. It's almost like they thought of everything you'd need and installed it in the bath house. 2. Camp Site: although our particular site was small, We were able to make it work & we can't complain because it's what we paid for and the staff was very lenient with where we stored our stuff. We had water and electric which is very nice to have especially in the electronic world we live in today.. We were able charge our phones and wash the dishes we used to cook. 3. Store & Recreation: The store had a lot of stuff for the unprepared camper.. so you shouldn't have to venture too far to get stuff if you forgot something. We were pretty prepared as we were once boy scouts. They sell ice to keep your goods cool and wood for the fire pit at night. They have a playground for children that's in good shape, Volleyball court and stage for events. They aren't too too far from the beaches. We would've been happier if they were closer to the beach but its hard to put a campground near a beach. Overall, If we were to visit New Jersey again, there's a good chance we'd stay here again.. They're are other places we'd like to see in the country though.

Cape May County Park North (aka Cameron Wildlife Sanctuary) is apparently a hot secret, because…read moreonly one other car was in the parking lot when I was there on a weekday in the summer. This is a BEAUTIFUL park / wildlife refuge. Trails wind everywhere through the woods, to hammock clearings, scenic spots with benches to sit, a few ponds stocked with ripe lilly pads, picnic areas, a park office, etc. This park is extremely well maintained, with no litter anywhere. Yes, DOGS ARE ALLOWED here. Despite contrary info I got from calling the parks office, there are signs stating the rules for dogs to visit the property, dog waste stations with bags, etc. Well behaved, leashed dogs, are permitted. This is a wildlife sanctuary, so it is lucky they have recently chosen to allow this. It's less than a 10 minute walk to the first pond, and that alone is worth the trip. There are little islands in the pond, with benches on them. Really enchanting. The history of this property is that in the late 19th C, sand was mined here to make cement for Ocean City, as well as to make South Jersey Glass. The Great Depression ended production here, and the landowners filled the sand quarries with water, and stocked them for their own leisure fishing. The property was willed to the county in 1988 to be made into a park. In the summer, you MUST wear bug repellent. Even with repellent, I was covered with mosquitoes if I stopped walking for a few seconds. So just beware and be prepared. While picnicking would be serene here, it is probably best to do it in the months when mosquitoes aren't around. Also, gate locks at 4pm sharp!

They have lots of exhibits and animals, including lions, otters, cheetahs, cows, bison, a toucan, and many other animals. i think they did have penguins at one time, but i dunno, we never went until now so. but very organized and gorgeous grounds. They also have a little store, but it's a lot of stuffed animals and not so much souvenir. Although the stuffed animals were very realistic and resembled the animals we saw in the zoo!
