There are restroom facilities, a small museum/visitor center, and a tiny gift shop on the lighthouse grounds as well. I usually visit in conjunction with Sunset Beach nearby. I recommend planning on an hour or much more if you want to really explore the beach, trails, etc. Highly recommended!

It's a smaller State park and slightly confusing with the direction's but the staff was helpful just get a map. We camped in a "walk back" section of E. Very spacious sites with the bathroom/shower reasonably close. Parking was "ok"..... but they fill up and then you have to use overflow. The bathrooms/showers were clean BUT I guess I'm used to sites that spray repellent because nature is boss. We drove through the comfort sites of D and they were too tight for my liking. They have yurts and cabins but for me a tad too close. They do have an Island camp site Loved it!!!!! That's a must do. It's 2 sites across a short walking bridge with water view and access. I would definitely go back.

One thing I don't understand is why the Park Maintenance people don't cut the Wisteria growth on the trees? Some trees have vines over two inches in diameter. This stuff will choke a tree to death over time! Great walk ... very pretty sights. Fall colors will make it a much nicer walk!

If tennis is your game there are 3 courts here. These are all interconnected by wide concrete paths so it's easy to get from one part to the other. ***They do Not allow dogs or other domestic animals here.** Noteworthy: there are bathrooms facilities and beverage machines. A gem!

It was named after Lower Township Police Officer David C. Douglass, Sr. who was killed in the line of duty and the spot serves as a memorial to his legacy. Dogs are fully allowed on the beach from the day after Labor Day through the day before Memorial Day. They can also go on the beach in-season from 4pm-11am (overnight). It is unclear if dogs have to be leashed, so use caution. Watch the ferry and find some relaxation here.

We spotted this area while out on a boat the nite prior. A small beach within a short distance from the parking lot, calm water, a jetty for my husband to fish off of, and lots of shells and treasure to be found. There were 2 port-a-potties at the time of our visit and a few picnic tables by the parking lot but no frills beyond that. No lifeguards on duty. We enjoyed watching many boats go by during our peaceful, private visit. Happy to have found our new 'secret spot'

Cape May County Park East is near the Zoo, but is across Route 9, down Crest Haven Rd a short ways…read more There is a walking path from this park to the zoo, but this park is technically its own separate entity away from the Zoo grounds, and other park areas beside the zoo. I had to call the township park office to learn this in advance, but for this portion of the park, dogs ARE allowed. There is a dog waste station as I show in my photos. Dogs are NOT allowed at the Zoo and its attached park, but they may visit this separated portion. On a weekday in summer, not a soul was there. Tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, no one at all! So if you want to practice or play any of these sports, you're likely to have the park all to yourself.

The sidewalks are laid out in curves which adds to the already awesome visual beauty. Take a seat on one of the benches and watch the activities on the bay. The playground, piccadilly castle, is a large wooden playground that could use some updating. They have a smaller area reserved for only smaller children, which is nice when it's crowded with older kids and they have no regard for your toddler. The swings could use an update and the slides could use a deep clean, but everything was pretty solid. The castle has bricks around it with names of those who contributed toward or helped build it. It's neat to see some familiar names! I recommend this park and playground for those who have kids needing to get rid of energy or those who need to walk and clear their head.

When I saw that Brecknock Park had a wooden playground, I figured I had to check it out. The park is absolutely beautiful. There's lots of open space for throwing around a frisbee, jogging, picnicking, playing soccer - you name it! There's a small garden area to walk through that has the plants and trees labeled (always nice to get in a little outdoor education). The wooden playground was everything I'd hoped for - very well-maintained, lots of different jungle gym options, and I got in my obligatory swing set time on a nice, sturdy swing set. Whether you live in the area or are just passing through, I'd definitely recommend spending some time at this park. Wish I could have enjoyed it longer! I'll absolutely plan on stopping by again next time I'm visiting that area.

I stayed on the Northshore campground with a 29 ft Travel trailer. We were in site 25. No problems…read morechecking in, driving in, parking. My first trip dry docking with a camper and I could not have asked for anything better. The park staff was amazing. Checking in was a breeze. If you want lake access, it's a trade off with close bathroom access. You don't get both. So, if you had to go in the middle of the night, it was an 8th of a mile walk. I would just drive. However, I think I wouldn't have minded it if I had brought bikes. Bathrooms were clean and stocked. I plan on going again, for sure. Now the park does have another camp ground that is more RV friendly. That is water and electric, and you can bring dogs. We may try that one next. Belleplain is a must.

About the most boring hike I can remember. Nothing scenic or interesting. Mile after mile of flat land and pine needles. Park police way more interested in making sure your dog is on a leash than in telling the guy who starts his generator at 6 am and let's it run until 10 pm to turn it off. Pic of men's bathroom at 10:20 am Sunday, well after it should have been cleaned.

This park was recently redone and boy has it been a beautiful renovation. Many people just sit and stare out over beautiful sunset lake on the 40 or more benches from one end of the park to the other. Kids frolic. Seniors meet w friends. Surrounding and adorning the park are many memorials that you should take the time to view. Monuments to veterans and in a little tiny Grassy area on New Jersey Ave. you'll see a tiny memorial to a local resident who was lost on the 9/11 tragedy at WTC. Over the years this has become a photo op for people who are leaving Wildwood crest after their summer vacations. Memories are made here
