This is a BEAUTIFUL park / wildlife refuge. Trails wind everywhere through the woods, to hammock clearings, scenic spots with benches to sit, a few ponds stocked with ripe lilly pads, picnic areas, a park office, etc. This park is extremely well maintained, with no litter anywhere. Yes, DOGS ARE ALLOWED here. Despite contrary info I got from calling the parks office, there are signs stating the rules for dogs to visit the property, dog waste stations with bags, etc. Well behaved, leashed dogs, are permitted. This is a wildlife sanctuary, so it is lucky they have recently chosen to allow this. It's less than a 10 minute walk to the first pond, and that alone is worth the trip. There are little islands in the pond, with benches on them. Really enchanting. The history of this property is that in the late 19th C, sand was mined here to make cement for Ocean City, as well as to make South Jersey Glass. The Great Depression ended production here, and the landowners filled the sand quarries with water, and stocked them for their own leisure fishing. The property was willed to the county in 1988 to be made into a park. In the summer, you MUST wear bug repellent. Even with repellent, I was covered with mosquitoes if I stopped walking for a few seconds. So just beware and be prepared. While picnicking would be serene here, it is probably best to do it in the months when mosquitoes aren't around. Also, gate locks at 4pm sharp!

That is the one draw for nice sunny days. That said, this place is freshly redone, looks beautiful, and has made excellent use of its acreage, to get a variety of recreational options into every corner of the space! Port-a-potty restrooms off the parking lot. Playground has a SUPER HIGH slide that is pretty friggin exciting. Plenty of play structures, swings (one all-abilities swing), and rubber turf. Pavilion has a number of picnic tables and trash cans. Adjacent green lawn space can be used for picnicking or chilling. Not enough room to fly a kite, but the beaches are so close, they're much better for that anyway. Sport courts (tennis, basketball, pickle ball) are gorgeously surfaced, and well-netted/-fenced. Dog park is all fenced, bag station, benches, and rules clearly posted. Great find in Cape May County!!!

Visited Kiwanis Park this week after beach time at Higbee. My son needed play time to run out some energy because he is still getting used to the beach and it's not his favorite right now, much to my dismay. Kiwanis made my toddler's day! He had a ball on the playstructure, swings, and just running around on the lawn. He loved watching the fountain in the pond, which I was happy to see still running in November. The posted rules say dogs aren't allowed, but various locals were walking their dogs all through this park. The park isn't huge, definitely no walking trail or means of real exercise, except for the basketball court, which is a half-court size. For leisure, picnicking, playground, etc. it is a great space, cuted up with the pond view. Private parking lot is down Leroy's way, the small lane at the entrance.

Cape May County Park East is near the Zoo, but is across Route 9, down Crest Haven Rd a short ways…read more There is a walking path from this park to the zoo, but this park is technically its own separate entity away from the Zoo grounds, and other park areas beside the zoo. I had to call the township park office to learn this in advance, but for this portion of the park, dogs ARE allowed. There is a dog waste station as I show in my photos. Dogs are NOT allowed at the Zoo and its attached park, but they may visit this separated portion. On a weekday in summer, not a soul was there. Tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, no one at all! So if you want to practice or play any of these sports, you're likely to have the park all to yourself.

The Doo Wop museum there has a large stage & it was a bring your own chair event & was quite crowded. Vendors selling all kinds of Italian foods, gifts, etc. It was a beautiful night for music by The Chiclettes, Dennis Tufano of the Buckinghams & Bobby Wilson, son of Jackie Wilson.

They had tennis courts, basketball courts and a baseball field as well as a small amphitheater from what I could see. I'm sure they had more on the other side of the park but we were mostly on the playground side of the park.

I've found my kids (ages 1-14) have more to do at RW and there's a nice mix for all ages, but plenty to keep the younger ones entertained. When you pay for admission to either waterpark, the other is included. So you could easily make a whole day at the waterparks alone. You will also get free tram car rides from pier to pier with your wristband (I believe that is only until 5/6pm though!) To me, the best thing about Morey's is that they allow you to bring in coolers with food! This is crucial when you have kids and plan on spending a whole day the parks. Splash Zone Waterpark does not allow this and I found myself spending A LOT more on food there or having to leave to eat. We often will grab a few food items from their food stand and they're always good. You will pay for this though, and it's very pricey for the amount of food you get per order. Wait times can also be long, even when they aren't busy. I would personally skip the cheesesteak, you can find MUCH better ones right outside the pier on the boards for cheaper. The buffalo chicken wrap was really good and filling, though! The fries are good, big enough order to share.
