We have been to Beach and Brew twice. It is a great place. The fish and chips are some of the best we have had. The tarter sauce that comes with it is exactly how tarter sauce should taste. I love this place. Except the weird beach volleyball mural on the wall when you walk in, but otherwise, yeah. Awesome. Jukebox, pool tables in the back, lots of bar seating, these are things I like. I had a grilled cheese, nothing fancy, just cheddar on sourdough with lots o' butter. Greasy and yummy! BF had a cheeseburger which was huge and totally hit the spot. Also, and I know this is weird, they cut my grilled cheese in a cool way that made me giggle. And because I am notoriously cheap: I must add, it was either $3.00 or $3.50 for a Captain & Coke that was poured like this: Captaaaaaaaaaaain (wrist up and down)....Coke! Cheap, stiff drinks? Let's start by saying it was a frigid, rainy Thursday night on the beautiful north coast in Seaside. Off season in November gives off an empty, relaxing feel across the town. The walk to downtown was about 5 blocks from where we were staying, and people were packed into a couple of the only places open on Broadway. We decided to head off the main strip to beach and brew, and I gotta admit, with minimal traffic on a dark cold night, it looked a bit "divey" at first glance.. and inside was about the same. My girlfriend and I looked at eachother and said, "let's do 1 beer." Well 1 beer turned into 4 and 4 beers turned into one of the best burgers I've ever had.. wouldn't you know it, the meat is farmed just up the road. Aside from the good micros and tasty food was our bartender, Graham. He was an awesome dude full of great recommendations. I'm pretty sure he planned the entire next stretch of our road trip and guaranteed that I will be back to see him at the beach and brew next time I'm in town. Service+food was 6/5 stars. As they say, don't judge a book by its cover. Also, a couple rounds of pool was a great touch! Don't skip out on this gem! Thanks Graham! You're the man! read more

Really good food. The halibut burger was great. 3 pool tables & darts. I'm a huge fan of the beers they had on tap when I was there.

I'm a local, clearly. I go here in the off season because with it being just one block off of Broadway most tourists don't get in the way or cause problems. Last night I went in with three friends. I asked for a coors light and food menu. At 10pm. I was told they were no longer serving food. I have my OLCC, and you have to serve food while you're serving alcohol. So I asked why not? I was then told I could have a cold sandwich or chicken strips. Sweet, I was actually excited about the strips, and they came with tots! I was honestly happy. My friend ordered his drink and we sat down. About three or four minutes later my other two friends joined us, one went to get her drink and I asked her to get an ETA for the strips because the bartender was busy and I wasn't going to make her leave the bar area when I could go get them. My friend asked when the strips would be ready and was told "When they're ready." My friend had never been here and was looking at the pool tables and darts, and the cool setup of the lotto machines and said "This place is fun" to which the bartender replied with "Your friend was fun." Meaning me... When my chicken strips were brought to the table in a togo box the friend I walked in with looked at me and jokingly said "That means get out, hahaa" And the guy actually told me that I could finish my drink but that I had to leave. When I asked why I was told "Because you're giving the bartender a hard time." I'm so sorry asking for a beer and fried chicken was too much for your bartender. As a local who spends a good chunk of time and money here in the winter, I was so pissed and confused, I will not go back. I understand everyone has an off day, but that was uncalled for rude behavior. Also in a town this small, treating you locals like that is not good for business. read more

Went in to watch Thursday night football because our hotel didn't have it. Had a few drinks over two hours. Tipped really well and paid as we went. Watched the locals stumble drunk around the place while being served nonstop. Asked for another drink and was refused service. We had barely drank at all! Nice cavatica stout on tap but the burgers were basically grilled cardboard they were so dry and flavorless. The fried mushrooms had a great batter but the mushrooms were clearly old and shriveled. They ought to do something about the smell as well. I love a dive bar but the smoke soaked walls and furniture combined with the poor food was just too much. read more

We have a vacation home in Seaside and often go to this local, neighborhood restaurant. GREAT burgers. The fries are crisp and perfect. We went with two other people and all four of us enjoyed our selection. One had fish and chips and thought they were ideal but the tator tots were just "ok". The service is excellent! They will accommodate any special requests and since there is no smoking anymore, it's very, very pleasant atmosphere. read more

Stumbled upon this place after dinner at Seaside Brewing Co., as my friends were looking for a drink or three. Decent beer tap selection, including a couple local brews, no cider (had only Angry Orchard in bottles), and liquor choices were minimal, but sufficient to make most simple drinks. It's a fairly typical dive bar, and seems like a popular neighborhood joint. It has a jukebox (pretty decent song selection), pool tables, a dart board, a couple TVs to catch a game, and some video lottery machines. Friends played pool between shots, while the lady and I played darts. Not bad ambiance, and the bartender (Daniel) was nice, quick with service and to ring up our tabs when we were on our way out. Drink prices seemed a little high for a dive bar, but it's Seaside, and prices are generally steep for everything. I'd grab a drink if in the area again, but wouldn't likely make plans specifically to visit. read more

fun place & great food. We were there for Thanksgiving and had the fish & chips, which were fantastic. Who needs turkey and dressing? Lots of fun things to do with loose slot machines (thanks to the Oregon Lotto), plenty of pool tables, and the possibility of a good bar fight if you're there at the right time. And luckily the place is within walking distance of our Windham time share because they even have a Fort George Vortex IPA on tap. Great place - if you can overlook all of the Oregon Duck crap all over the place. read more
