We just left Beach Hut Deli in Colfax.. what a great experience... when we walked in shortly after 11 am there was only one table but quickly filled up with people. The guy taking orders was friendly; offered suggestions on sandwiches and beers. The portions were huge but sandwiches were made beautifully. We had the Malibu and the a turkey sandwich; both delicious. We had a Beach Hut Deli in Fresno where we are from but sadly it was run poorly and did not make it. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Reno. read more

A quality, if not inexpensive, themed sandwich shop. You may have to make a few visits to find out what you like. All of the sandwiches I've tried have been good, but some are better values than others. The pulled pork sandwich is great (but the tabasco sauce kinda builds up on you) and my wife and I can share a medium so it's a pretty good deal. I tried another sandwich (probably two years ago) that was $10 and hardly filled me up (and I'm a light eater). So - great place, good-to-great sandwiches, medium value. Give it a try. read more

Love their variety and expediency. It's like Ike's but with more of an island vibe. They also have some unique treats at certain locations.

The sandwiches here are awesome. The ingreadiants are fresh and they had real avacodo slices on the sandwich. Shocker!! The owner was a really nice guy. It's a pretty large place with beachy themed tables and decor. Look a like they might have live music here as well. It's in a small shopping strip so parking is limited. The restroom as well as the restaurant were very clean. I would recommend this place. The food was quick and delicious. read more

Sandwich shops are a dime a dozen. In a world of dimes this place is a dollar. Cool decor- gave a surfs up kinda vibe. Very Ohana (family) feeling. Food- omg delish! The bread was so fresh and so were the veggies. But the best part was the pile of meat that these sandwiches come with. And I only got the regular size. (They go up to an XL ) Fast service! My first trip into Beach Hut Deli began with me manuvering roped pathways that was to narrow for my wheelchair causing me to get tangled up. No one offered to help me. When got myself untangled and up to the counter I sat there for five munutes being completly ignored, wile they helped other people around me. After about five minutes of being ignored i left. I wanted to give the place the benifit of the doubt, so I returned about a week latter. The same thing happened again. Finally I got an able bodied friend to go back to order food for me. On top of my prior experiences the food was disapointing. The sandwich had little meat and almost no coniments on it. And the coalslaw was served in little cup normally used to hold pills. Needless to say I will not be going back. read more

I would give zero stars if possible. We stopped in for lunch around 2:00 pm on a Friday. There were two girls behind the counter talking to 2 ladies who the obviously knew. The conversation was extremely loud and filled with profanity, no big deal but just to set the scene. The very nice gentleman took our order and we sat down. After receiving our food I went to grab napkins. I looked around before asking but finally walked up to the counter to ask. The girl behind the counter literally rolled her eyes and said " there is a basket of them over on the bar!" I saw a basket there but it was filled with coasters, not napkins. I walked over to check again, no napkins. I walked back and said "I am so sorry, I guess I am blind, I can't find them" trying to laugh it off. The ride girl then grabs some, tosses them on the counter and says " they were on the bar, but no worries I can stop what I'm doing and get you some." I know it's COVID and help is short lately but there were 5 employees and no customers waiting. It was highly rude!!! Before we left, a lady walked up and asked for a straw. A gentleman behind the counter replied to her loudly, " that sign there says we dint carry straws!" I looked all over, I couldn't find the aforementioned sign. She turned red, very embarrassed and walked out. I don't know if I have ever seen employees be just blatantly rude EVER!!!!! I would never come back and I recommend people don't either until the staff gets better. read more

Last weekend we were in Colfax to get a tire fixed. While we were waiting to get the tire, I ordered lunch online for us to pick up. As we were leaving the tire store, our car died. When I called Beach hut about this, the server on the phone (I think his name was Kevin) right away offered to bring the food to us. Now that's A+ service! Food was great, too!! read more

The man who took our order was friendly, giving local tips on spots to visit. The sandwiches were actually really good; however, in this time of Covid, we watched the gal making our sandwiches with her mask not pulled over her nose. There was a young man talking with her behind the counter...very loud, very animated, while she made sandwiches. I watched him remove his hat, run his fingers through his hair, and then no gloves. I hoped he wasn't working on our food. We asked him to pull his mask up, which he did and he eventually exited through the back door. Seriously, we were the only people in the store and this loud story couldn't wait? We almost cancelled the order and asked for our money back. Stopped by this place while in Colfax for a night on the way up to Oregon. Great sandwich and great service. First time I've been asked if I was really hungry because if not, might want smaller sandwich. Said they didn't want to "upsell" us on something we weren't going to eat. My sandwich was pretty mediocre. Not worth the price in my opinion. I can say that the bread was very fluffy and fresh though.

I said in a previous post that I was not happy at all with this deli. I also said I would give them a second chance and I have. I must assume I just ordered wrong during my first visit (BBQ sandwich). I had a warm ham sandwich this time. It was very substantial and very tasty. I wish they used real dill pickles and not kosher. read more
