Any changes to premium fry choices or onion rings will further up the price. This place is awesome! First night, we were full but we still wanted to give it a try so we ordered parmesan fries, a deep fry Twinkie and a milk shake to share. The fries smell sooo good and tasted sooo delicious. It was my first time trying the deep fry Twinkie and let me say "hmmmm..." She topped it with vanilla ice cream and caramel. Hubby order passion fruit milkshake. It was thick and super sweet. We waited for 15 plus minutes, but we were in a hurry and it was Memorial Weekend. We had to give this place another try before we left. So we had it for dinner. We both got burgers and regular fries. Mine was something with Cassidy...it was a double with avocado, bacon, onions on a sourdough bun. Trust me it was better that Jack-in-box sandwich. Hubby had Peggie Sue and he loved it! It was different. In all of this, we love this place. I hope our next vacation will be back in Ukiah. Once we got in this diner, it was a different environment and they were really friendly. I went to Be-Bops when it first opened and I was so excited. I loved the atmosphere and the food was great and just everything about it was perfect for what I imagined it should be. I was so excited that I was telling my out of town friends they should come up just for the restaurant itself. It really was that good. Here I am several months out from my last visit. I have been bugging my husband that I have wanted to go back. I love the milkshakes, still do. Tonight he finally gave in and took me for our 11th anniversary. We took our daughter with us and we placed our order. I noticed that something had changed. I pointed out to my husband that the music wasn't playing. It came on a little bit later but it was very quiet. The girls didn't come out and do the twist like they did the first time (part of the charm of the place). I had ordered my milkshake, my husband ordered ice tea and my daughter asked for water. They got their drinks and it was not until our dinners were served to us and I had to ask, did I get my milkshake. She also forgot to serve my daughter her fries. My daughter and I both ordered a BLT and my bread was nearly burnt and hard. We both agreed that it was REALLY greasy! The fries were not all that great and were cool, not warm. By the time we left our waitress only came by one more time and that was to give us the bill. She did not ask if we wanted refills on the drinks or desserts. When we went to pay the bill, she disappeared and so we felt very slighted by her. We have now agreed that IF we go back, it will only be for the milkshakes. Even then, I can make them just as good at home for cheaper and I don't have to worry about hoping they will remember to bring it to me or sloppy service. Sorry to say, they took what was once seen as a 5 star rating to me in the beginning down to a two star. That is really sad. read more

This family owned and operated diner is a must visit if you are traveling through Ukiah. The service and staff were as grade "A" as the decor and the food was outstanding! I had the home made chocolate shake with a "Whirlybird" on toast. My husband had the Elvis double burger with an order of fries that was like something straight out of a fifties soda shop. The young man that took our order was very polite and enthusiastic about being a part of this dynamic team while whipping with passion through the shake menu to help us decide. I watch as everything was packed to go with care in a brown paper bag that brought back memories of junior high. The sounds of 50's played in the background as we tapped our toes and sang along. At the register I asked one of the young men if it was a family owned and operated establishment, with a smile straight out of a Colgate commercial he told us that it belonged to his father. This place used to be pretty good when they opened, but has gone downhill since. You can't get out of there for under $20 for one person, for a simple cheeseburger fries and drink. On to go orders, they used to give you a nice size box, but now they cram, and I do mean CRAM your food into it smashing your already small portion. The food is good, on the right day, but just WAY over priced for what you get. I could say the same for the service, young kids working there that just don't really care. Just had breakfast for dinner last night at this restaurant. I was thoroughly displeased with not only the service, but the food. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because the prices were good. I got the big bopper breakfast because I wanted a little of everything. It included 1 pancake, 2 scrambled eggs, 2 slices of bacon, 1 sausage patty, and 1 biscut with gravy. I was really hungry. Lol. My husband just ordered the sausage and eggs meal. He was wondering what was taking so long for our order to be up, as we were the only table in the restaurant aside from a couple guys having a banana split. I told him, "good food takes time." Little did I know the food they would bring to us would be complete garbage. A four year old can cook scrambled eggs better than them. It seemed as though they stired the eggs from the minute they got in the pan until they were done, making them more like flaked eggs. The bacon was just thrown into a fryer with dirty oil, and wasnt cooked all the way. It was soggy and disgusting. The biscut was a little burnt and drenched in sausage flavored gravy that either came out of a can or was made from a powdered mix. The sausage patty was ok, but im not a fan of sausage patties and had planned on giving that to my husband. The pancake itself was decent, but they served it with this margarine that was almost translucent. It was absolutely foul. I will never eat at that restaurant again. The waitress never even asked us how everything was. During the middle of our meal, a small family came in and sat at the counter. The waitress was just talking to them the entire time. They must have been family or something, because there was a baby crawling on the counter getting its dirty little hands all over the top of the whipped cream dispenser, and she did nothing about it. We occasionally fly up to the Ukiah Municipal airport and enjoy very much going there for one of the best milkshakes and burgers around. Its within walking distance of the airport and way better than any other greasy spoon on the boulevard. The sparking and authentic 1950's decor and atmosphere is not to be missed, especially if you are a vintage car enthusiast. Even more memorable, however, is the fine service and exquisite food. The place looks great, but the food is just awful. The fries have no taste (how'd they do that??) and the other sides taste like they were prepackaged junk. We are in Ukiah visiting a friend and landed on Be Bop's. It looked cute and sounded good. It was really neither. I ordered garlic fries because I thought they couldn't screw that up too badly and I wasn't super hungry. What a disappointment!! Not only weren't they very good, but the server never came back to check on how things were. When I pushed the nearly full basket to the end of the table so she would see it, she came by and asked "Is there anything else?" I said, "No, just the check", thinking she would ask about the fries. She didn't. And then we had to wait a very long time in line to pay our bill. I finally got fed up and put the money on the counter (sorry, no tip) told the manager that the service and food wasn't very good and walked out. This has long been our go to spot for lunch when we are in Ukiah. Good burgers for reasonable prices. It had been a number of months since our last visit when we stopped in about 1:30 last Saturday, July 14. In the past, we were usually not seated but the waitress would typically greet us and tell us to sit wherever we wanted. They were not that busy, but after a couple of minutes of waiting, we simply took one of several nearby empty booths. In the past, with few exceptions, we were always served by an older (fortyish?) lady who, while not overly friendly, was incredibly efficient. She was not there (and perhaps she mo longer works there), replaced by two much younger people. Anyway, after sitting there for close to 15 minutes, being passed by numerous times by both of the working waiters, after watching at least one other couple get served who came in after us, we were still without so much as a greeting. We got up and left. Although I am often accused of being too patient, in 70+ years I could count on one hand the number of times I have done that. Disappointing. Previously my favorite restaurant in town. Had good food was a little pricey but not unaffordable. Now the food is garbage service is slow and I felt like I was a thorn in there side. After waiting for the first wave of crowds, my daughter and I went. The atmosphere was great... 50's. How could you go wrong with that? We were not impressed with the food. First of all, everything is a la carte. To me, fries of some sort is a must to include with a hamburger meal. The hamburger was high priced, the fries are high priced. Once ordered, I was hoping for the best hamburger in town at that price. I was disappointed. The hamburger was greasy, the bun fell apart, the fries were dripping in grease and soggy. LOL !!! I guess many people like to whine about prices. They are clearly marked. If you don't like the prices that you clearly know ahead of time, get up and leave. Don't complain later on like it was some secret trick the restaurant played on you. I have gone in here no less that 50 times over the years it has been open and NEVER have I had a bad meal. Sometimes after a busy weekend they might be out of a certain food, but it's only for a short period. Order something else. It's a big menu. Everything is good here including the help. Go for it. Walked in and ordered a cheeseburger, fries and small milkshake to go. Seemed to be priced high at almost $14. Took almost 1/2 hour to get the food even though there were only a handful of customers. Just went to Be-Bops for the first time yesterday. I have to say that we were not very impressed. It didn't feel like a rockin' 50's diner at all; it felt like someone trying to be a 50's diner but failing. The music was authentic, but way too loud. The waitresses on staff barely broke a smile, and one in fact had a constant scowl on her face. The little dance they did to "The Twist" could not have been done more unenthusiastically. It was awkward to watch. The hot dogs were ok, but my husband's was cold. The seasoned curly fries were quite bland and on the soggy side. I did, however, like that you can order an ice tea mixed with lemonade; that was very good! Lastly, we were still sitting there 15 minutes after we finished eating and still had not received our tab. We had to go to the counter to ask for our tab so we could leave. I had high hopes for a great new place to eat in Ukiah, but all in all, I think I can safely say that we will not be going back. read more

We decided to go here because a friend who had been visiting me just got out of the hospital and was dieing for a milk shake! It was her last day in town so we decided to get "breakfast". Well breakfast turned into burgers, fries, milkshakes, onion rings, and jalapeno poppers. We went all out on the junk food train! But honestly it was exactly what we all were looking for in a fun, last meal together. We went around 11 on a monday so it was quiet. The atmosphere was nice, exactly what I'd picture a diner to look like, and it was clean too! My veggie burger was really tasty, although we got charged for the small sides of bbq sauce and garlic mayo. The garlic cheese fries were amazing! The only thing I didn't care for much was that the jalapeno poppers were $8 and you only got like 6 of them, also the waitress didn't seem very happy, I'm not sure that had anything to do with us though. All in all a fun experience, fun atmosphere, not too hard on the wallet, and definitely the place to go if you're needing that junk food fix. I don't know when I'll be back since I don't indulge like that often but I'd definetely recommend it! read more
