I hired BC Exterminating Services several months ago to get rid of a mouse problem - today I have no mice. James was the first person I spoke to who asked me many questions about the situation that other exterminators failed to address (like the ability to unfasten the dishwasher which is something few exterminators are willing to do). The initial price of $700 wasn't the cheapest but definitely in the ballpark with several other vendors' prices. Oswaldo came to the house to do the work and I ended up purchasing a maintenance plan of $85 for every two months to replace traps and provide treatment for ALL pest infestation. These guys are great! They cleaned up a mess after another exterminating company that really didn't take care of the job. The others kept telling me it was rats when in fact it was raccoons. These guys got the raccoons out of the attic without harming them and were able to patch up the holes in the roof so they couldn't get back in. They then sanitized the whole place. I had termites many years ago and had BC come in to be safe. They found some minor activity and sprayed thoroughly on the spot for I think a very reasonable price--certainly less than a big company. This is a small local company, and I think you get the honest and fair service one hopes to find in such a company. Also being small I think the guy who did it is the owner. I had the worst experience with this company. At first, I called them up due to fake good reviews and one of the salesperson called James picked up the phone and then he started upselling me multiple services without giving me the chance to explain that I needed one time treatment only. Then I asked him to setup an initial inspection and James immediately replied back that there is no need for initial inspection and that he will charge me $187 flat rate for one time treatment only to eliminate rodents and ants. So I waited for the scheduled service next day and then I had to wait the entire day before anyone showed up. Finally the tech called me up that he is here to do the job. I told him to finish up the job and then I'll pay him accordingly over the phone. The tech did not finish the job and ran away without informing me (so unprofessional) that he had to leave immediately. Then I get the fraudulent call from Mr James who started acting like one big shady salesman and then he started his troubling sales pitch by exaggerating the nature of the problem to 100 times worse (saying that I have 1000 ant hills and 100 rats roaming around). Mind you I have a million dollar property in the most richest part of Montgomery County and this pathetic guy scared me so much that my house is going to be ruined if I don't act soon. I asked him how much will it cost now? He came back the next day and increased the cost 3 times what it originally cost. Basically the tech guy informed the size of my house to James and he told him that he is underselling me. So he went on his shady pitch again to upsell multiple services through scare tactics and bait-&-switch method. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! THEY ARE SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND LACK CUSTOMER SERVICE! I discovered mouse droppings in my kitchen and immediately sent out about 4 inquiries. Oswaldo was the first person to reach out, and I was contacted by James, who was in the area to a day-long job. What timing! He did an assessment that day and we found one dead mouse, to my surprise, as we emptied the lower cabinets. Oswaldo came for a followup within the next few days. He sealed up the holes that were found behind the stove. On the next service call, he sealed up additional cracks and holes found after I had my old dishwasher (which was stuck due to shoddy renovation by the contractor hired by the prior owner) dislodged by a taskrabbit. Oswaldo (Lalo) was SO NICE. I called and he came same day to take a look at what I thought were bed bugs. He came later in the evening even though we had an appointment scheduled next day so that I could have peace of mind. Thankfully he eased my concerns and they weren't. However, we did have him spray our house down for ant problems. We used Orkin pest control for about 2 months last year and canceled due to terrible work and no shows plus extra payments for services we did not receive. However, Oswaldo was extremely detailed, sprayed all around the house whereas Orkin sprayed only the front and was done within 2 minutes. Oswaldo seems like an honest person and wants what's best for you, your family and your house. I would HIGHLY recommend this company!!! I contacted BC Exterminating Services because I had a wasp hive on my deck and what I believed to be powderpost beetles in my condo. I contacted them on this past Friday morning and received a return call that Friday afternoon for a scheduled appointment today at 12pm. The inspector's name was Carlos and he explained to me that the beetles were not powderpost. (that's was a sigh of relief) Then he examined the wasp hive and removed it. Also he sprayed my whole unit to prevent a reoccurrence of the beetles. Carlos was very knowledgeable as well as professional. I was originally concerned by some of the negative feedback here, but I had a great experience. i thought maybe the groupon would just cause them to upsell-only. Started seeing mice in my apartment due to what I suspected was open holes and access points from area's that had not been addressed in the past in common area's in my building. 2/2/16 - Oswaldo performed services to get rid of the mice issue at my parents home. Initially, when I started my search, I left messages for several companies; however, Oswaldo returned my call at approximately 7am...the same day.
