Faced with having to move our student child from one apartment to another, this time with furniture, not to mention more amassed belongings, we knew that this was not something that we could do on our own - especially because we live multiple provinces away. After having researched many movers in the Vancouver area, we reached out to BungoBox. One of their friendly professionals immediately reached out and walked us through all of the details - with no pressure to commit. We valued their advice greatly as we have never had to book movers before, let alone from a such a long distance away. One thing we highly recommend, is to add-on BungoBox's rental containers. For us it was a set of 23 large, 2 extra large, and one dolly - along with some extra wrapping paper and a mattress protector. These items were indispensable and made packing, and moving, a breeze. As arranged, they were delivered early in the day, two days prior to the move. Move day couldn't have been more relaxed! The BungoBox team of two arrived right on time, wrapped all the furniture in blankets, and ensured everything was secured inside the truck. I will admit, I was anxious about where they would park as the two buildings did not have loading areas and the receiving end was located in a very busy part of the university. The lead mover reassured me that this was not a concern, they deal with this all the time. Sure enough, they arrived at the new apartment, parked the moving truck like the pros they are, and delivered all of our child's belongs without a single scratch! The moving containers were a 7 day rental, so we took some time over the next day or two unpacking, then simply let BungoBox know and the boxes were quickly picked up again. We are happy to say that we would not hesitate in recommending BungoBox to anyone moving in and around Vancouver. Their service is friendly and very professional. This was the first time I used a moving service and also rented reusable boxes. The whole move was a breeze (as much as any move can be) from start to finish. This was a very last-minute move but they were able to schedule us in quickly, were super responsive, and very accommodating of our schedules. The boxes were absolutely a godsend. We had bungobox movers do the bulk of the move but we continued to use and re-use the boxes afterwards to cart the rest of our junk over bit by bit. They loaded into the car easier than standard boxes, the cart that comes with them makes them very easy to roll around even fully packed with heavy items, they stood up to a lot more punishment than cardboard ever would, and they were generally just easier to pick up and move around because of the handles and lids. Of course being environmentally friendly is a huge bonus as well. As for the move itself, I can honestly say I'd never do it myself ever again. The movers were on time, professional, friendly, and SO FAST. They're definitely pros. They took great care to wrap and/or tape up all my furniture and even my many awkward glass-top tables. Bungobox box rental and moving review: Very disappointed with our most recent experience with Bungobox. We had used their box rental services for 2 of our previous moves with no issue. Our recent move, we decided to go with their moving services as well. The move experience was poor - one of the movers was on his first day of the job and it was obvious. Items were damaged and a promised discount prior to service was never given. Post-move, Irvin reassured us that they'll follow up with the damages and fix them as that's what distinguishes them from other moving companies. I outlined the damages and followed up over weeks but did not hear back. The moving services were contracted out which could explain the poor experience but the post-move communication was extremely disappointing and inexcusable. I recently had to move our home and home office by myself, and all I can say is, the BungoBox team made one of the most unpleasant experiences as stress free, quick and painless as a move can be. I was looking for a full move solution and Chai has partner with great businesses that take all the stress out of moving. He recommended Vancouver In The Box to do the packing, his team to deliver the boxes, execute the move and installation/hanging of pictures etc, and 505-Junk for disposal of items that were to go to charities, recycling and garbage. Started at 8am on Thursday, all moved in by 5:15pm. Friday, the unpacking team arrived at 9am, finished with boxes/wrapping paper all picked up by 2pm. Some reorganization thru the day and the new place was good to have people over on Sat. The BungoBox team was professional, efficient, on time, skilled to ensure zero damage to items and space. The movers were two hours late and they screamed at me 2 inches away from my face and tried to get me to go into a back alley in Chinatown with them alone. They also overcharged me and broke some of my most valuable items. On top of all this they left broken glass around and my cat stepped in it and had to get emergency surgery. I called to talk to the head office and told them what happened and they never even responded back to me. I had never felt so unsafe and scared in my entire life. Please don't use this company they are dangerous. Also please take a look at how defensive they were in this reply. And they shared the cross streets of my building with the public so that's super unprofessional. I never heard back from these people. I had terrible experience with them! They were late 20 minutes even I booked and paid for the elevator which suppose to start by 9:00 morning and they never apologized! Conversation was tough with them as they didn't understand very well what I'm saying! They broke several items and glasses us they put the boxes upside down even it marked and wrote on all of them. They said they were in hurry and forced me to sign on the paperwork quickly I didn't have enough time to look everything over. Later I called them to explain how the moving went but they said too bad cause you already signed the paperwork and they charged me full amount. Ordered some Bungoboxes recently for my move. Service was really good, reasonable and pleasant. They were also really reliable in terms of the actual dropping off the boxes before the move, and picking up of the boxes after my move. What I really appreciated too was their weekly phone calls asking if I had finished with the boxes after I had moved. It really helped keep me on track to finish moving! I thought the prices were very reasonable too when compared to other services of the same nature. The boxes that were supplied to me were clean, and easy to use. It was great that I didn't have to tape the boxes up too. Packing was made that much easier, and I think anyone that's moved would appreciate if packing up your stuff is made just a little easier! We found BungoBoxes randomly one day when their truck was on the road. I looked them up, knowing we'd be moving soon and boy am I glad I did. We rented a one bedroom set of boxes and they pretty much fit our entire 3 bedroom suite. When I called back to request the boxes a week longer, they had no problem extending it and only added an additional $20. Can't beat that! Perfect for moving in the rain. I was also asked if we were using their moving services which I had not idea they supplied. On our moving day, three guys promptly arrived and took care of EVERYTHING. $135 / hour, a huge truck, and 8 hours later we moved everything and had little to no stress. They even took apart and put back together our bed and sons crib. No damage and they are probably put back together better than before. Don't think twice, hire these guys. I used Bungobox to help me move from Vancouver to Coquitlam, I was worry about my move that way couldn't catch a moving company on web as I had a lot of heavy expensive furniture many of them contained sensitive glasses, my best friend recommended me to use Bungobox as they did a good job for him last month then I chose them, they sent a perfect size truck which was 5 tone truck with a lot of four wheeler dollies with all necessary tools and screen carts, they wrapped most of my stuff properly with blanket and shrink plastic wrap, they used special plastic to protect my mattresses not to get dirty, they disassemble all the beds, tables, and reassemble them properly ,they were really quick and super careful, I don't believe my eyes that can't see even a bit scratch in my furniture or my place. I had originally called just to rent boxes, but when they came by to assess the stuff to pack, they said they were a specialized moving company so I went and did the whole package with them. I think they maybe overestimated our belongings, as we didn't end up using all the boxes, but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. I rented them for a week, and they arranging an early pick up was very easy. The boxes themselves are great and while it is a bit pricey, the time I saved not having to build boxes or worrying about how dispose the boxes was well worth it for me. I kind of assumed that the movers would be from Bungo Box, and not contracted out, as they said they were "a specialized moving company", but it doesn't really matter. What matters is that I moved during the snowstorm and I had -12381278391 expectations. Fortunately, Shaun, Keefer and Keith were amazing. Not a single thing broke, no walls/floors scratched, and it was all done quickly and efficiently. IN THE SNOW. THAT NEVER LET UP. THE ENTIRE DAY. The boxes were also fantastic in the snow. I scheduled my delivery and pick up times at a convenient time for me after work, and I had the boxes for a week. Viktor was great about rescheduling my order a day earlier and the BungoBox staff I interacted with were friendly and informative. Sometimes I pause and consider how lucky our generation is to have certain quality of life services like BungoBox. I remember how my parents had to fight over the local grocery store's cardboard, and it was all different shapes and sometimes smelled really bad, yuck. Great boxes and great service. They arrived on time and went over the order with me to make sure everything was there. The boxes are stackable and easy to carry both when they're empty and when they're full and closed. They also came with dollies, so other than stacking them on the dolly and taking them off it, there was hardly any lifting required. The package I ordered (2 bedroom) arrived with 2 dollies, which I found to be the perfect amount. Once we were done unpacking, they came and took everything away (again, arrived on the scheduled time and were very nice and friendly). I also must mention that the fact you need to return the boxes by a certain date is a great motivator to step up your unpacking game. This is something that can take weeks, sometimes months, when the boxes are yours, but when you need to return the boxes you just speed through it and get it over with. read more

I used Bungo box in my last move and they were great!! Irvin coordinated everything with me-- he was super informative and clear, went over everything with me with the movers and the bungo box rental. A few weeks before the move I requested that we push the dates back a week to help fit in with my schedule better and he didn't blink an eye, he was able to switch all three dates (box drop off, the move, and the pick up) without issue. It really saved my butt! Darren dropped off and picked up the bungo boxes and he was a trooper, we had 3 flights in the first place and 4 in the new place and he was totally great about it. Handled everything efficiently and explained how to use the wardrobe boxes so I'd understand. The moving day itself was a long one but the movers were all kind and moved as fast as they could, they were very courteous and wrapped everything for me as it turned out to be raining. Everything got here in one piece and well protected. The only hiccup was that they didn't have a credit card machine and I wasn't aware beforehand they needed cash-- but luckily I knew which box had my cheques so it wasn't an issue! But their poor professionals and no show of deliver of boxes made me no choice to cancel them. My stress level was over the roof because I only had 1 week before the move and also I got to be out of country for my work. So grateful I chose Bungobox!! A friend bought an apartment and was looking for a box rental company for her move. We both hated the idea of cardboard boxes - so environmentally unfriendly and they are not nearly as sturdy! I decided to pay for her box rental as a house warming present and chose Bungobox. Chai the superstar delivered the boxes to her on time and picked them up from her new place on time as well. We chose these guys over Frogbox for our cross-city self-move because the prices were lower and we get to keep the box for one day longer. Not having ever used Frogbox, BungoBox's major competitor, I can't make a direct comparison, but BungoBox's service left nothing wanting -- everything was on time and communication was great. The only hitch was actually signing up -- BungoBox's web site is still under development and our postal code was not yet entered into the database, so online sign-up wasn't an option. Also, their toll-free number didn't work. But calling the number listed on Google Maps (604-323-0020) got me through directly and it was very easy from there. This was our first time using these boxes, so here are a couple of things we wish we had known, to help other first-timers not make the same mistakes: - the boxes are pretty big and it is very easy to overfill them. We found that filling them 2/3 of the way was optimal. The XL box is really way too huge for anything other than pillows/comforters. - the bottoms WILL scratch, and very badly, when the boxes are full. This is to be expected, but worth repeating. Thankfully it didn't get our floors or anything like that, but one of our desks has a memento now of our move from where a box was resting on top of it in the cargo van. - the handles on the boxes are not rounded and can dig quite painfully into your fingers when loading/unloading. A pair of work gloves would save a lot of grief. Not overfilling them also helps. read more

I deal with people moving on a very regular basis. It's not my favourite and I hate the dreaded call from a friend asking for help when moving. I assisted a girlfriend move the other day and she used BungoBox, supplied by Chai, and it made a huge difference.
