I can't say enough good things about this company! I had to move my mother from her condo of 40 years to a private assisted living condo. Meredith (owner) was not only immediately responsive to my inquiry, he was able to schedule the move quickly. My mother had been in hospital, and it was clear that she could not go back to living alone in her own home (age 97!). We found a fabulous option for her, where she could have all of her own furniture. My brother insisted on moving her bedroom on his own so she could be checked out of the hospital faster. I BEGGED him to let me hire professional movers (and pay for it) and he got angry and insisted on doing it himself. So on top of moving my mother's stuff, I had to ask Meredith to now take two pieces of furniture (that my brother damaged beyond belief in his DIY move efforts) to a furniture repair location - which he happily accommodated. This was our first time hiring movers, so I was a little nervous. But Jims Moving did an awesome job! They took great care of all our antique furniture, which I was most concerned about, and were super friendly and accommodating. All the stairs going in and out of our 3rd floor attic suite didn't slow them down at all, which was pretty impressive. Nick and Jr. moved us out of our apartment this weekend. We were very impressed with the booking process and both the owner and the movers called the day before to confirm logistics. On the day of, we had some challenges with our building elevators (not the mover's fault) and they made the most of the down time we experienced. They were polite, very considerate of our belongings that we identified as delicate, and fair on price and hours worked. They were also happy to have us jump in to help once we were behind on time from our elevator issues. I would definitely recommend this moving company to family and friends. They showed up early, with big smiles and awesome humour. Very professionally and efficiently handled getting all of our stuff in the truck...and so fast! Incredible! The delivery to our new home was more of a challenge with a small apartment elevator, long carpeted hallways but still they just kept moving, got everything in and done, no fuss no muss. My friend recommended Jim's and I thought they were awesome. They arrived right on time and were efficient and friendly. I had stupidly not realized that my bed wouldn't fit through the door until the AM of my move, so I was stressing about that. But one of the movers assured me it was easily taken care of, grabbed some power tools and took it apart for me in minutes. They unloaded everything in great time at the other place, even asking me before they left if I wanted anything moved around. Best experience ever! Run by a guy named Meredith, he and his team (3 guys for my job), handled my 2 bedroom condo move in about 4 hours. This included a fridge swap between the old and new place. As an example of their care and respect for my things, they picked up everything by hand, rather than push or drag anything across the floors. And they were very careful not to rub up against any walls, in spite of some narrow hallways. Meredith is very personable and went out of his way to meet my demands. So, I have never written a review on Yelp or really anywhere before. But the guys at Jim's Moving definitely deserve my time. I am a single mother and moved from a large home in Langley to a small 4th floor condo in Maple Ridge on January 14th, 2013. I have moved 8 times in the last 7 years so I am a seasoned pro at stressing over moving days! This time was different though. Meredith and Tyler were total pros. I found myself not stressed one tiny bit. They were so thoughtful and careful with my belonging and each time I had any questions Mer would stop what he was doing and give me his undivided attention. This included when the Telus guy showed up to my new home earlier than what he was supposed to and the guys made sure my TV and cable boxes were up in the suite pronto! Even when I was shocked at the cost of my move ( I have never moved where an elevator was used) , Mer made me feel like I wanted to give him my money and even tip too! Tyler was an incredible hard worker and Meredith has a gem of an employee there. You can sure tell the swampers who get paid well for what they are worth. I could never do what those two guys do and I have a new-found great respect for their profession. Even though we ended up not using this company because my husband accepted a job back in Los Angeles and we ended up with a long distance company I highly recommend Jim's. Jamie, Nick, and Fernando from Jim's Moving moved my fiancée and I on January 4th from a condo in Langley to a townhouse in Surrey and they were nothing short of spectacular. They showed up about 20 minutes before the scheduled time in order to park the truck in the correct position and survey the work that had to be done. From then on it was nothing but a smooth and pleasurable experience. They took extreme care with our belongings and paid great attention to detail. We had a stove delivered to our old place and asked them if they could move it as well. Instead of trying to tell us how it could not be done, they went above and beyond their usual expectations to accommodate us. When we got to our new place, the people moving out were not moved out by possession time. Instead of just standing around, Jamie, Nick and Fernando helped the people bring their belongings outside, in order to help us save on costs. If they hadn't done that, we would have no doubt been paying for extra time as the previous owners were nowhere near done moving out. In addition, we really appreciated how Meredith responded quickly, and sent a confirmation reminder for our booking without us having to ask. All of this combined with their great demeanour and friendly personalities made this move experience a 10/10. Meredith moved me with Martin and Mo and poor Meredith had to put up with me being completely stressed out and sending lots of emails asking questions and giving him probably way too much information. He made me feel like everything was under control and it absolutely was. They came 15 mins early, they were professional and FAST, they even fixed a few things for me and the whole job was executed with perfect precision in far less time than expected. They even asked before they left if there was anything in the garage or elsewhere that was going and they followed my instructions to a T. We hired Jim's moving for a move Aug 11/2020. I read some good reviews, called and spoke to Meredith. He took the time to answer my questions. We had a disastrous move the year prior with other movers. The bed fell out of the sofa and damaged the elevator. Strata handed us a $800 bill which we disputed. The movers did not tether the bed and it fell out damaging the elevator. This time I spent more time researching moving companies and paid a higher hourly rate for Jim's Moving. The movers arrived early, they were polite and very professional. Meredith had communicated all the details and our concerns to his movers. They re-assured us they knew how to move the couch. All went quickly, tvs and glass dining table carefully wrapped. We requested a 2nd stop to do a couch swap and pick up few other items. Final destination was a Yaletown condo with tricky parking. The movers handled that well and knew exactly where to park and unload. The move took just under 3 hours. I would definitely recommend this company. Jim's moving is a shining star in an industry which can be a little shady at times. I felt extremely safe in using Meredith and Tyler to move my stuff. Everything that was fragile was wrapped carefully and nothing had any damage done to it, including the place I was moving out of. When they were "on the clock" at no time did it ever seem like they were being liberal with their time management. I used them twice, once for a "pre-move" to de-clutter before staging, and again once I had sold my place. When I mentioned the second move, he even offered a discount the next time around - which he made good on without even asking. He is extremely personable and I enjoyed exchanging stories with him. When discussing my future plans, he even brought up the possibility of assisting with moves that could take me cross-country; something I will definitely take him up on depending on the circumstances of where the world takes me. read more

This is long overdue, but Jim's moving was ABSOLUTELY wonderful. They helped my boyfriend and I move in February this year. I had been hunting for movers, and this company came highly recommended and I understand why !!! They were able to book me in short notice (less than a week till my move) and then were great on the details - from what I had to what they would need to do (if there were steps, equipment they would need, etc). When they did arrive that day, they were friendly, professional, and gave me a game-plan prior to starting the move (i really appreciated that). Loading the truck took about an hour and then when they were done, we reconfirmed the address we were moving to and they even arrived there before me !!! They began unloading before I got there so as to not have to charge me more for waiting. Not only was everything unloaded by the time i got there, but it was all laid out in an orderly fashion !! nothing was just in a pile - it was put out in a way that would actually make sense !!! I haven't actually moved any of the furniture since then ! (I liked the layout that much!) The cherry on top of everything is what they did with my Christmas wreath ! We had the fortune of having Meredith and his team (Andrew, Mike and Tyler) move us from south of the Fraser River to the north side of it. First off, Meredith is a class act of a guy. I felt I had found this long lost friend by the end of the move. As for the move, these guys are the real deal. They don't mess around and get the job done while have a great time doing it. You can tell all of them take pride in the service they are providing. We're 90% unpacked now and there hasn't been a mark on anything nor anything broken. They even moved our 1904 piano and that thing is a "beast". Meredith even provided us these great caster for it free of charge. If I should ever have to move again, I'll be contacting Jim's Moving and hope Meredith and the gang are still doing this back breaking work. Thanks again guys for the great job you did! We booked Jim's Moving because of the reviews on Yelp and I'm glad we did. Tyler and Jeannie arrived 40 minutes late for our 9am booking, but we were actually happy about it as we had some last minute packing to do (which I definitely do not recommend!). Even though they were late they were very professional and quickly looked around our one bedroom apartment, asked a couple of questions and got straight to work. It took about 2.5 hours to fill the truck and then we were off (moving from Vancouver to South Surrey). Our new landlord was particularly concerned about movers scuffing the newly installed wood floors and when we conveyed this to Jeannie they took extra care to make sure every box and piece of furniture was put down carefully and they did not bring the dolly's into the house. Apparently Jeannie and Tyler have been working together for 3 years and their partnership definitely made the move a smooth one. After 1.5 hours they were unloaded. Bottom line is they did a fantastic job and were very professional. We would definitely recommend them and use them again in the future. A week ago we hired Jim's moving to move our stuff from Langley to Hope. We thought they'd take the whole day to load up our 3 bedroom, 3 story townhouse in Langley, then drive all the way to Hope and unload it in it there but they were so fast (and yet so careful) when the loaded our stuff up in Langley that we were able to ask them to make a trip out to my Mom's in North Vancouver to drop some big items off! This saved my husband and I a ton of time and effort as we were going to rent a cargo van and do the North Vancouver trip ourselves that night. I still can't believe it but it only took Meredith and his crew from 8am until 2pm to load up our Langley townhouse, load up the items for my Mom, drive from Langley to North Vancouver, then drive from North Vancouver to Hope to unload! We were super impressed and would use Jim's moving again in a heartbeat. Also, we have to say that the guys were so polite and courteous and we appreciated that too. read more
