Soy Garlic Chicken (eating in)
Robert B.

BB.Q Chicken really changed the fried chicken game for me. I feel like nothing compares to Korean Fried Chicken. It's also so crispy, tasty and delicious!! ESPECIALLY this location. By far, the best bb.q Chicken location in terms of food quality and service. Whenever I order and pick-up, I'm greeted with a smile and how I'm doing. They have a cozy environment that gives me the comfortability of wanting to dine in or take out. To be honest, I don't mind either. Our favorite to order is the Soy Garlic Wings + Original Fried Wings. We save some money by cooking rice at home, but we would definitely order all the sides when we dine in. We love going to this spot, it's our favorite! Thank you, bb.q Chicken, Cypress!

went back today and loved it yet again. owners were very nice and attentive and again the lady at the counter helped me pick something new. The wait wasn't long either which came in handy since i was in my lunch break. I forgot what the name was but i got a chicken bowl with white rice and cabbage. The cabbage was so good and sweet which i loved. Chicken was spicy and seasoned very well. And the portion was very generous . another 10/10 can't wait to try another dish from here!

Yoooooooooooooooo! This bb.q Chicken location is hands down my favorite. Even though I live in Cerritos, I always make the drive out here because the chicken just stays way crispier. Every time I order pickup from the Cerritos spot, they pack everything in plastic bags and the moisture builds up--by the time I get home, the chicken's already soggy. But THIS location? They use brown paper bags, so the chicken stays crunchy all the way home. Every takeout place should honestly know this trick by now! My go-to flavors are the Spicy Original or Cheeseling when I'm in the mood for something different. My family loves the Honey Garlic and Soy Garlic, so we usually grab three medium orders--about $33 each, so roughly $100 total. It lasts us through the night and into the next morning, usually 2-3 meals for all of us. Service is always friendly, and we usually call ahead for pickup after work. Plus, the ambiance inside is super family-friendly.

Chicken and fries

I really like their friendly customer service, great service, and delicious food. Since they don't have many staff members, dining in can be a little difficult, but even when I order for pickup, the food stays warm and maintains great quality.

Absolutely delicious! I ordered the honey garlic, fried, and secret sauce yangnyum drumsticks along with the cheesesticks -- everything was so good! The chicken pieces are huge and juicy -- they definitely don't skimp out on portion or size. Each flavor was perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside and tender inside. The new owner was super friendly and provided amazing service. You can really tell they care about quality and customers. Highly recommend this bb.q Chicken spot -- I'll definitely be coming back!

I ordered from this restaurant and I gotta say! The quality and the crispiness of the chicken is really freaking good! I ordered the Golden Original which was really crispy and juicy! It also has that slight spice which I really like! Waaay better than KFC that's all I'm gonna say! Secondly I ordered the Hot Spicy which I really recommend for spice fans! It has a sweet and spicy tang to it and it doesn't kick you in the butt when you eat it! It's delicious.. But if you're really up for the challenge and want more spice? They have Wings Of Fire! Third I ordered the Honey Garlic! Has to be one of my favorite from here, again crispy and really juicy and has that sweet garlic taste, really savory as well!! Really recommend going here and I will definitely come back here!

We ordered the half-and-half whole chicken and tteokbokki; the food was absolutely delicious, and--above all--the owner was incredibly friendly, allowing our family to enjoy a truly wonderful meal.

Love this location & the owners! It's a family run operation and the service is always top notch - they clearly care about every person that comes in. The chicken, fries, so-dduk, snail salad, pickled radish, ddukbboki, etc etc are all so good. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Vibes are also great if you need a place to go to for a good dinner & some beers or soju. Will be back very soon :)

Got a 20 piece and noticed that some pieces were abnormally small, UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Food: We ordered the Galbi-Tang and Sul-Long-Tang, and our food came out pretty quickly. Both soups were really flavorful and comforting, and the broth was definitely the most memorable part of the meal. The banchan on the side was a little weaker compared to some other Korean spots I've been to, but the soups more than made up for it. Parking: They have their own parking lot, which made parking easy when we visited. I really enjoyed the food here and would definitely come back, especially when I'm craving a comforting bowl of soup.

You come here for Korean comfort food, metal dishes of banchan, enormous bowls of soup and stone pots hot enough to continue cooking your dinner while you eat it. And that stone pot is where I'd start. The gondre dolsot bibimbap was fantastic. Gondre is Korean thistle and here it gets worked through the rice with the egg, seaweed and everything else until the whole thing becomes earthy, savory and deeply satisfying. But the best part comes underneath. Leave it alone long enough and the rice against the stone develops that beautiful scorched crust, nurungji, which you eventually scrape loose and mix back through everything. That combination of the greens, sesame, egg and crispy rice is ridiculously good. There are dishes you finish because you're hungry and dishes where you keep digging around the bottom of the bowl because you're convinced there must be another good piece hiding somewhere. This was the latter. The galbitang was more complicated for me. The beef itself was excellent. Generous pieces, tender, falling easily from the bone and soft enough that our kids loved it. Plenty of green onion, too. My issue was the broth. I prefer galbitang on the restrained side so I can decide where it goes from there. Same reason I like seolleongtang arriving almost defiantly plain, give me the broth and let me dress it up myself with salt, saeujeot or whatever else I want. Han Yang has already made those decisions for you. The galbitang broth was noticeably sweet and salty and eventually it became a little much for me. That's preference as much as criticism, plenty of people will probably love it exactly as it arrives. I just wanted the volume turned down. The banchan was similarly mixed but mostly good. The napa kimchi was solid and nicely balanced. The kkakdugi was particularly good. The mustard greens, however, were ferociously sour. I like fermented food. These had me physically wincing. The dipping sauce for the galbi was excellent, though and I kept going back to it. Rice was average and a little dry. It did its job. Service was good and the whole experience was easy. The room itself has some age on it, tables are fairly close together and depending on where you're seated you may find yourself with a commanding view of the bathroom door. Nobody has ever requested the chef's table at the restroom, but here we are. Somehow I don't particularly mind any of it. Han Yang feels like a restaurant that knows what it is. It isn't polished into anonymity. People are here eating giant bowls of soup, mixing rice in scorching stone pots and getting on with their lives. And when a restaurant can put something as good as that gondre bibimbap in front of me, I can forgive a dry bowl of rice and a bathroom with excellent sightlines. Absolutely coming back. And next time, I'm getting that bibimbap again.

Spicy Stir Fried Squid (Oh Jing Bokkum) had a really nice smoky flavor. Something I could never replicate at home. Definitely try if you like seafood! Rice Cake Soup with Beef and Egg (Dduk Guk) was surprisingly very flavorful. I wasn't expecting much since I imagine this to be a simple dish, but the broth had so much depth in flavor. The stir-fried squid with noodles was delicious and came in a generous portion. The LA Galbi also tasted good, but the portion was disappointing. It looked like we got mostly small leftover pieces with very little meat compared to other Korean restaurants, especially for $33.99. The stir-fried kimchi with tofu was another letdown--the amount of tofu was very small for $36.99. The food overall was tasty, but the service was one of the strangest experiences I've had. Our banchan (side dishes) didn't come until after the appetizer, and only because we asked. We also had to ask for water. Our appetizer arrived without any sauce, and later they brought soy sauce with wasabi, which wasn't even for our seafood pancake or fried dumplings. After all of our food was served, no one came back to check on us--not even once. I'm honestly not exaggerating. The staff kept disappearing, and at one point we saw them all eating lunch together in the dining area, which made us uncomfortable interrupting them. When we were ready to leave, we needed to-go boxes and the check, but no one was around. We finally had to ask a lady who had just clocked in. Our bill was over $300, and honestly, we didn't feel the service deserved a tip. This place is a hit or miss. The food is good, and that's the only reason I'd consider coming back. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience for our entire group. As much as we enjoyed the food, we wouldn't recommend this place based on the service alone.
