The chef is awesome, he often delivers food to my table and the food is always hot and tasty, I love the Malay veggies. I will say one of the female host/servers isn't the kindest. The men seem much kinder than the women in the service area here. I have never felt this way before but one female tends to look at me like... "What are you doing here?" It's this kind of vibe that disappoints me despite the great food every time I come in for lunch. Be kind no matter that time it is. My son and I ordered takeout: we each ordered a different chicken curry (mine was red, his was yellow). I was a little surprised by how much it cost: over $50, without rice. HOWEVER, the food was delicious, and I was able to get three meals out of my one order of curry (I made my own rice). So, all in all, it wasn't nearly as expensive as it seemed. I also want to add that I don't begrudge restaurants charging what they do, and I know there's a lot of overhead when running a business (especially in CA). Great location with convenient parking, and the service (such as it was) was perfectly acceptable. I will definitely be back: even with $25 curry, I'm paying about $8.00 per meal, and that's acceptable to me. read more

Late dinner with family, there was no waiting at all for a table. Used to come here quite often decades ago, it's a testament to their good food that they have remained open at this location for quite a long time. Started with clear glass noodle soup: lots of vegetables plus thin sliced chicken breast: perfectly seasoned and very comforting. Nam tok grilled beef served with cabbage wedges and sticky rice- dressed with lime, thin red onion and ground roasted rice. Green chicken curry was mildly spicy but the coconut milk gave a distinct sweetness. The curry was served in a metal bowl on a wooden base. Steamed swai fillets of fish in lime garlic sauce also mildly spicy, fish was tender. Pad see ew wide flat noodles in dark gravy and sliced Chinese broccoli or gai lan, I added shrimp but I think it's probably better with some beef. Also got Hainan chicken and rice- the sauce served with it is delicious! Rice is not included in any entree , we asked for a large pot ($10). The rice included and late nights are all gone the way of VHS and pay phones. Also paid for a pot of jasmine hot tea (two of our party were under the weather), Total for dinner plus tax was $160, Lot of leftovers for lunch the next day. The restaurant is located at the South West corner of Valley view and Cerritos Ave. We came in @ 2:45 pm quiet place to eat in and lots of sitting room the air conditioning was good enough to beat the heat outside running a very humid 93 degrees Fahrenheit I ordered the Chicken Peasant Plate and my wife ordered the Beef Peasant Plate the orders came out fast from the looks of the plates it does look like these are for peasants lol. So since the orders where more of fried rice we ended up ordering one more to complete our need for protein. We ordered the Prik King a dry curry sautéed deep fried pork belly with green beans to try it out. The pork was fried very deep and not crispy at all maybe we made a mistake in ordering but I was not satisfied with the taste sorry to say. I have gin to Sweetee Thai for years, though the pandemic stopped that. Being vegetarian it nice to know I can safely eat the food I order, and it will be prepared with the spice level I enjoy. I have always received friendly efficient service, and the restaurant is always clean and welcoming. Sweetie Thai has been in this plaza for at least 20 years! I remember it was there when I was at CHS and college and it's still there now that I've been working for 16 years! The Thai food here is decent, I haven't came around frequent enough over the years anymore but I always remembered they had really good drunken noodles. I came back with my friends recently and got the seafood drunken noodles and two desserts, the mango sticky rice and the fried bananas with ice cream. Desserts were good but the mango was not ripe so it was had and not sweet. Drunken noodle (called monsoon here) had a good flavor and some seafood pieces were better than others though they were of decent size. Service was still good and I know their service has always been nice and consistent. They still have the fish tanks since all these years. It's a very low key casual but cozy Thai restaurant vibe. read more

The sauce was terrible and the chicken tasted old, barely heat tray warm. This said, I dug into some of my friends Cha-Lay rice with crab. Decent, not praise worthy, but decent. Maybe I am just ordering the wrong items, but I was not feeling my plate. We shared some siam spring rolls which were also decent, but no different than buying from a store and toasting at home. I was in Cypress for work today and had a sudden craving for Thai food. After finding SweetTee Thai with some great reviews, I decided to check it out with my coworker--and I'm so glad I did! First off, the customer service was amazing. The staff were friendly and attentive, which made the experience that much better. The ambiance was beautiful and cozy, definitely a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. We started with Thai teas, and they were perfectly brewed--not too sweet, just right. For the food, we tried the Crying Tiger Steak, Pineapple Fried Rice, and a few other dishes. Everything was SO fresh and flavorful. I was honestly impressed by how delicious everything was. We called in our orders for take out and realized that the host did not mistakenly tell us that it cost $62 for Beef pad see ew, chicken Thai style pasta, cream cheese wonton, and a large Thai tea. This is about the same price as ordering pick up through Uber eats. No itemized receipt was given. I did expect the 10% automatic gratuity for pick up because that's what I've seen on here but did not expect Uber eats pricing! When businesses use services like Uber eats or GrubHub, their prices on there is usually more than the prices at restaurants to supplement the cost of using the service. I can see the one year old menu on here and everything totaled to about $44 without tax and tip so I assumed the total would've been like $50 something with tax and tip and with maybe updated increased pricing. But yea, food was alright but it ain't that fancy to pay this much. read more

This used to be a go to in Cypress for good Thai food but after a horrible experience tonight we won't be back and will be telling others not to go either. The restaurant mentions that there is a 10% discount for dine in as they are celebrating 27 years. The prices have increased exponentially,they no longer includes sides of rice with any of the entrees,and their portions have decreased as well (all which my family and I understood considering inflation and everything else going on). The food came out fairly quickly,however the staff was unfriendly and seemed as if they were in a rush to get us out of there. The food is mediocre and not worth $18.00 for a simple curry dish. The real issue arised when the bill came. The bill for 3 items came out to about $45.00 (without the aforementioned discount). We didn't think much of it but when they took our bill,we asked about their anniversary discount to which they sounded surprised and rushed away. When they brought back our receipt (after we had paid) we noticed the bill was now $50.00+ with the "10% discount" applied. The server was rushing us to sign the bill and kept asking us to write in a tip while we were trying to figure out why the bill changed. When we asked them why we were charged more, they ran off saying "Sorry we closed the wrong table" when there was no one else in the restaurant. They kept saying "Sorry wrong table" and still were rushing us out of the restaurant. We were able to finally get the correct bill and the waitress again was pushing us to tip. Was really not happy with this experience and will be warning everyone of their deceiving billing practices. read more

We used to come here more often when we used to work in Cypress, but we haven't been back in a long time. We were in the area on a Saturday and decided to have lunch here. We arrived around 1pm, and there were only a few tables occupied. There were three wait staff, but the service left much to be desired, which was not always the case. I remember the service used to be much better. There was no greeting when we arrived, no "thank you for coming" when we left. They were mostly silent as if it was an inconvenience for them for us to be there. We ordered lunch specials (available until 3pm): orange chicken with fried rice for my husband and beef panang curry with steamed rice for me. Our food was okay, the portions were just right. Our plates were placed on the table a little rudely, without a word from our very indifferent server, as well as the check - which we did not even ask for yet as we wanted to order dessert. There was a different lady who helped get our dessert for us. The sticky rice with mango was good. The restaurant was relatively clean but was showing its age. Parking was easy as we came after lunch peak hours (they have a small lot shared with other establishments in that plaza). Overall, 3 stars for the food, 1 star for service. read more

A group of 12 of us went here for our monthly lunch reunion and it was pretty darn good. We were a little leery based on a few recent reviews, but everyone was happy with the food and service. We saw no evidence of ordering kiosks and all of our orders were taken by a waitress. We got there at 11:30 AM, were seated promptly, and service was good. A portion of their menu is for lunch specials and they are a good deal based on today's comparable restaurant prices. I ordered the California curry special. It was $14.95 and came with rice, salad, wonton skins. It was very flavorful and a decent size portion for lunch. Have been a long time customer here and the service has just gone down hill. They literally come to your table only 3 times the entire time. To take your order, drop off food, and drop off the check. You have to get their attention to ask for more water and napkins as they are always just standing near the register talking to each other. My recent visit just did it for me, found a fly in my shrimp and poor service. Will not be returning here again. First of all - this review is NOT about the restaurant, it is about Uber Eats. Sweetee Thai has great food and good service when dining in. Uber Eats was an entirely different experience. My receipt showed $34.90. My CC was charged $47.99 with an additional $7.96, bringing the total to $55.95. Two Items. I could not figure out the tip, so I gave cash - only to find out they AUTOMATICALLY add a tip. The driver was tipped over $17 for a $34.90 check. I'm a good tipper, but 50% - never. I have written to Uber Eats and they have yet to provide a saisfactory answer. I could find how to rate Uber Eats. read more

Customer Beware. It's sad that I have to write this review. I've been coming here for the past 15-20 yrs and something was shady. This comment is for their Business practice and not their food. Food was good. I placed a phone order for a take out. I knew there was a 10% gratuity added for take outs. Upon arrival I was given a credit card receipt to sign, with tip recommendation. Knowing the 10% was already added, I ask the female worker for the itemized bill. She gave a dirty look and basically fling the receipt at me. Sure enough 10% tip was already added to my bill. I am beyond disappointed with my experience. I ordered spring rolls Togo as I am next door studying. 13$ for 2 old stale spring rolls. They are wrapped once so it completely broke. Old veggies that are mushy. Ontop of that, a 10% tip was added without my knowledge. Just really upset. I WOULD NOT recommend coming here. The old short waitress "YAI" is racist and a thief !!! I'm a black person that has been coming to eat here for a very long time, each and every time this waitress takes my order she has this disgusted face as if she didn't like me being there, she has done this many times and I'm sick of it !!! She treats Asian and white customers fine, she ignores me, doesn't check up or refill my water. I had to go to the counter to ask for my bill, YAI brought it and never said a word putting it down, just placed it on the table and walked away, no human interaction. I pay for it and left, I took the bill with me because I felt that the price is a bit off. I was right !!! I looked at the prices on the menu because I took a picture of it and compared it to what was charged on the bill. She increased all the food items I ordered by $2-$3 dollars more than it should have been !!! Total racist and thief !!! Totally unprofessional.... No complaints on food or service, however, Thai food doesnt taste authentic. The foods here has the the american palate as its target, missing fish sauce and fermented fish paste flavoring. Quality of the food is good. Prices are high for Thai food ($21ish for noodle dishes) but that seems about right with the inflation. read more
