They should hire some adults for their staff. I came in here at six on Sunday, it was completely empty. There was a girl doing paperwork at the counter and a guy walking back in forth in the kitchen. I brought my whole family in here and was actively ignored, while I stood at the counter for about 5-10 mins. I wasn't greeted or looked at the entire time. My wife came over and asked if they were taking orders. I said I have no idea what's going on here. Still no response, so we left and made a better choice. read more

I went to this spot about two weeks ago with family and it was fairly priced and fair portions. The service wasnt very friendly ( tall, thin guy) but I just decided tip accordingly. Tonite my fiance and I went back. Ordered the 20 and 21 (both rib dinners) $13 each, $14 with a tip. Got home, only 1 rib dinner the other was chicken. I called immediately and confirmed that I did not order incorrectly. The girl that answered ( and took our order) said " I cant give you a refund unless you bring back the food". Well, I didnt ask for a refund, I wanted what I ordered! We were the ONLY customers there after all. NOT SURE how you can confuse ribs and chicken. BUT! Things happen. I explained that I was already home and was not going to drive all the way back (now making my rib dinner $16 by wasting gas). I asked if they could offer something in return on my NEXT visit for my inconvenient experience. I was told " I can only give you a refund if you bring back the chicken", "other than that I have to call my boss". To which I said "Thank you" and promptly hung up. I tried to give the chicken ( leg/thigh meat) a try. Extremely disappointed. Tony can cook a rib but the chicken tasted like it sat around for a couple of days and was extremely dry. I work in food service and understand mistakes happen, human error is inevitable. When my customers complain, I make "it right". For my second visit to Tony's, I found myself extremely disappointed. I ordered to-go and sat myself down at the bar. I watched several customers come in after me and get served their meals. After 30 minutes, I said I have to go and I want a credit. So they checked my order and found that it didn't get sent to the back of the house. After 40 total minutes of sitting and waiting for my meal, to compensate me was to provide me with an extra corn bread. This isn't even enough to cover them at the tip that I gave when I made my purchase. I am so disappointed with the service I will probably never go back even though the food is good. If the place had been slammed, I would've been somewhat sympathetic. But because there was less than four families dining, I can only assume that there were troubles. Extremely disappointed. I almost never write Yelp articles but this one really push my buttons. This is really sad because I was excited to have their food a second time which I enjoyed previously. read more

The front desk gal was only wearing a bra and apron. What was said to be 5-10 min wait was 40 minutes in a 105 degrees restaurant. My sliced brisket came as burnt dry pulled brisket. Not what I ordered. The Louisiana hotlink was so soggy and overloaded with hotlink that the bun dissolved. Service was just terrible. Door dash came to pick up orders they hadn't even noticed they received 30 min prior. Was better when it was just a cart. read more

Figured I'd give it a shot since it's a new place in town and bbq joints are slim pickings in Eugene. Ordered the brisket plate. Service was the worst I've ever had. We walked in and waited over 10 minutes for someone to even say hi to us. When we finally ordered, we were told we had to pay right then for our food to be started even though our friend was calling in to place an order on the same ticket, so we had to make two transactions. Ordered drinks and didnt get them until our food was brought out. Asked for to go containers, had to ask more than once. Had to repeatedly get up to grab the cashier/waitresses attention. When our food was brought out, the brisket was covered in sauce, like covered. I've never seen a bbq place put your sauce on for you, it always comes on the side so I was disappointed to find mine mostly ruined. Sides seem to be from a can and lack seasoning. Just seems like a fast food joint honestly with how little the staff care to make their patrons feel like the matter and the integrity of the food. I will not be returning. We ate at Tony's bbq today. We ordered a beef brisket sandwich and a beef rib dinner. The sandwich was delicious. The meat was tender and seasoned very well. The beef rib dinner... there was one rib with a very small amount of meat and a whole lot of fat. In fact on the 6 inch bone, there was literally four inches of bare bone with no meat ar all. I would seriously say there was three times the meat on my sandwich than the dinner plate. We paid $29.50 and it definitely was not worth that. I can say that I would have been embarrassed setting that rib dinner plate in front of someone. read more

This is hands down the best barbecue I have had since leaving the South. Everything I have tried has been fresh and delicious. Lots of great meal options and affordable. I have tried the brisket, pulled pork, hot links, and pulled chicken....the sides are amazing and compliment the meat selections perfectly. I went in on a Tuesday afternoon. Ordered 3 meals paid $52. For the smallest portions I have ever seen. The meats were dry. The chicken tasted definitely more than a day old. The philly, def wasnt a philly. I saw this place all the time as I drove hwy 99. So I thought I would try it out. Hey who doesnt like a good BBQ meal. I will never go back again and will not recommend to any of my friends or family. I tried calling half an hour after we got our meals to complain with no response. I tried calling back again all day Wednesday with no answer, going to a full mailbox. Their website and info on the door said they should have been open but wasnt. I decided to just go in. So at 11am on Thursday I was there. Asked to speak to the manager, the girl asked me what she could do. I told her everything that was wrong with the order and she apologized to me profusely. Then went in the back and we could hear her talking to someone. About 5 minutes later this angry man comes storming from the back with our receipt. He identified himself as Tony and then started going off about how he knows his food is not microwaved and not dry, did not say his beans were not canned. He started shouting this. I got defensive, which I probably shouldnt have, and told him I know it was dry that I could tell this by biting into it. He said he made the meats out on the smoker that day, then asked what day that was when told it was on Tuesday he asked the girl in the back who was working that day. Well if he was in there working and preparing the food fresh that day should he have not known who was working with him. He told us the steps he takes to prepare the meats. He went in the back and brought out a cold bag of cooked chicken. Note I drove by the place earlier Thursday morning a couple times before going in and there was no smoke coming from the smoker and he stated to me earlier that they were not open on Wednesday. Also drove by the place early Tuesday morning before going in and no smoke coming from the place then either. So when was this cold bag of chicken cooked? The pieces were larger than the portions I was served and I told him that. He said that he cuts the pieces in half to make more.....more for who the customer or his pocket? He told me to touch the cold bag of chicken and see how tender it is, no way was I going to touch that bag. I told him it doesnt matter how tender the chicken is then just when its cooked and served to the customer that I know it was dry I tried it. After awhile of his raised voice at me telling me I was lying I was getting pissed off. I then decided to leave with my mother as I grabbed the receipt off the counter and started walking out the door and said that I guess I just donated $52 to him. He stopped me and said he would recook everything on the ticket. So ok why not give them another try. Maybe there was something wrong that day with the food. Waited 50 minutes for them to cook the same exact stuff it took them 15 minutes to cook when they were busy on Tuesday. And we were the only customers in the building at 11am when they first opened. No, he did not cook it, he had a girl cook it and he was gone. Yup, you guessed it the food was crap again! Same dryness,,,rubbery,,, chewy taste, canned taste, fries that were suppose to be a large order were still a small order and soggy, mac n cheese tasted floury, dinner rolls were ok...not the best, did not give us our beans...thats ok they tasted canned earlier, the philly again wasnt a philly, just a bad all around experience. We stopped by the new express outlet for lunch. The staff was great and very helpful. But unfortunately it just is not my style. The chicken was thigh meat and slightly underdone (chewy) to my taste. The sauce was good but too much of it. The fries were excellent. My friend got the fish and chips made with catfish and again the fries were the best part. Who serves backs as actual pieces? Not much meat on them, nor is there much on a wing either. The price was fair at $11.00, I just thought there'd be more meat. The sides I had were BBQ beans, corn bread muffin, and potato salad. Potato salad tasted like Reser's store bought, but was fine. The ribs were very good, and I'd definitely eat there again. I almost hate to write this review, Tony's has been a favorite of ours for a long time. Unfortunately, the last few times we've tried, the meal has been pretty unsatisfactory and the orders were incorrect. I hope the owner reads these reviews and understands he needs to make some staffing changes at the highway 99 location immediately. I found both times going in that the woman running the front desk is unfriendly and frankly rude to customers. The woman cooking seems to get frazzled when there are multiple orders, and is VERY slow..bbq should not take an hour to assemble. I will start with the good.. the collard greens are amazing. That's were it ends. The Mac n cheese.. HORRIBLE, unless you like gritty. We had beef ribs, or should I say rib as there was only 1, and spare ribs..both lacked flavor. Received corn muffins when we asked for dinner rolls (personally dislike most corn muffins so can't say if they are good or not.. dry, but aren't they all.) Had the Philly with tri tip, you can get it with several different types of meat. The menu looks pretty good as they have a fair variety of stuff to choose from. Decent barbecue food, really high prices. I had the Mac attack #2 on the menu. I was surprised to find out after ordering that when you order a numbered meal from the menu you literally just get the item listed and nothing else to go with it. So after ordering a #2 I received only the sandwich, which was an awesome sandwich, but then I had to make half of a dinner at home anyway which completely defeated the purpose of eating out in the first place. After paying the minimum tip I ended up paying just under $10 for a sandwich that I had to go home and make a second half of the meal to complete a dinner for the night. If you're looking for a novelty food this is the place to go, you'll pay a lot of money for a little bit of really good food, just be ready to go get dinner somewhere else afterwards. read more

This place is a hidden gem for sure. The building is older, but right in a main highway and also right on my way home. I called in an order to take home and decided on chicken breast, brisket, and of course some hot link. The lady that took the order repeated it back and was very friendly both on the phone and upon arrival. She confirmed my order and went in the back to finish getting it ready. The slight smell of smoke was present and made me hungrier by the moment. Once home we broke it open and were thrilled with everything. The chicken breast was moist and flavorful with a light coating of sauce on it. The brisket had great flavor with a nice crust on the edge and was also tender. The hot link were just delicious, slices into coins with a light touch of sauce on them as well. I went with the spicy BBQ sauce and when they say spicy they are not joking... it had such good flavor that I couldn't stop eating it and the spice was there the whole time. All in all I received great service, a lot of delicious and carefully prepared food for a reasonable price. I will be back!
