Great BBQ! Now that Texas Smokehouse in San Jose is no longer, I'll come here. Jon Jon's and Smoking Pig are decent, but BBQ 152 impressed me enough with the 3 Meat Combo that I'll be back every time I head to the outlets. I ordered beef brisket, tri-tip, and hot links (I arrived at 8:15 to find them out of ribs and the Gilroy police setting up a drunk driving check point). Unfortunately, my brisket was switched out for pulled pork (never been too much of a fan, but it was good), so I didn't get to try the brisket. Tri-tip (good smoke ring) and hot links (with rosemary) were excellent. Garlic bread with garlic slivers and potato salad also good. An easy drive from the outlets, so there's no need to eat Applebee's (not that there's a need or justifiable reason ever) or suffer the line at In-N-Out. read more

Holy Cow! Super yummy tri-tip, ribs & pulled pork. I've never had BBQ that's been better. And the garlic bread is so garlicky & tasty. I had the 2 meat meal of ribs, pulled pork, beans & garlic bread. The ribs are absolutely delicious & the pulled pork is redic amazing. The garlic bread is very garlicky & is an excellent part of the meal. The beans are excellent!!! My lunch mate had the trip tip with their lunch & it's like butter....so tender, it melts in your mouth! It's so good I'm bringing the fam for dinner, everyones gotta try this little hot spot. We went two days in a row, and even not knowing what to expect.... we have now found our favorite BBQ spot!!! items we've eaten as a family, Pulled pork, tri tip, chicken bbq sandwiches.... full slab of ribs, berry cobbler, bread pudding.... Being born and raised in Texas I always have an idea of what BBQ should be. Living in California for a decade now I am always in search of the best BBQ I can find. There are plenty of gems in the Bay Area but BBQ 152 let me down. The brisket had a small smoke ring and was not as flavorful as I would of hoped. The ribs were also mediocre. I have been here twice and would only recommend getting a BBQ sandwich if your in the area and stop by. The BBQ plates for the quality are overpriced in my humble opinion. read more

Sooooooo delicious! I've been twice now and will definitely be back and bring friends and family and anybody I can drag along. The tri-tip sandwich on grilled bread is excellent. I really like the hot/spicy BBQ sauce (optional). I've also had the tri-tip meal (1 meat meal) with the coleslaw and garlic bread. I was way more than impressed. I'm picky with coleslaw. This was fresh and had a nice sweet tangy kick. Had a taste of beans from my friend's side and they have a nice slight spicy warmth. The service is great and super friendly! They even remembered me from my first visit.! I look forward to the drive open getting up and started. Next time I think I'll try the rib sandwich. Heading south down Monterey Rd we were planning on going to th Long House for breakfast (our go to for breakfast in Gilroy) when we pulled in the parking lot across the street, we were quickly rerouted by our noses. This bbq was great. I visited twice in two weeks while in Gilroy. Try the brisket or ribs. Both were terrific! The offer sauce on the side. The beans were good and had whole cloves of garlic inside. I think this is part of the Aptos Street BBQ family... and that isn't a bad thing! It meant a hefty beer list and my favorite sandwich... the Raging Bull. Sliced Tri-Tip drenched in a super spicy BBQ sauce on garlic (or regular if you prefer) toast. By far the best sandwich around if you're shopping the outlets. My only beef (pun intended... and I'm sure its been used a ton on yelp) is the sides are no where close to as good as the rest of the food. BBQ 152 has it's own parking lot and a good sized dining area. They have a solid draft list which is always a plus. The offer the classic BBQ options, ribs, brisket, pulled pork etc. I went with the quarter chicken with sides of coleslaw and potato salad. The chicken was moist and had a light smoke to it. The hot bbq sauce is the one for me. The potato salad was pretty good and the coleslaw was light. Portion size was just right for one. One unexpected but good surprise was the bread that came with my order. I believe it has some sort of cheese baked in and it was delicious. Smokey goodness! The cashier recommended the pulled pork and tri-tip. I went with the ribs and pulled pork. Gotta say the ribs weren't all that good. I got a thick layer of fat that overwhelmed the meat on them. The pulled pork was very tender, paired with the vinegar dip, you'll be licking your fingers. I can smell the smoke on my fingers as I am writing this review. Amazing flavor. The food is pretty pricey comparing to portion size. I paid over $20 for 4 ribs, 6 ounces of pork, and a small scoop of potato salad. Doesn't really add up, especially with the quality of the ribs I got. These guys also own Salinas City BBQ. read more

We were driving thru to San Francisco for the weekend and I chose this particular BBQ joint by recommendation of fellow Yelpers. We arrived at 7 pm and were informed that they had ran out of the pork ribs which was a disappointment because that is what I came in for primarily. We could have waited another 30 minutes and another batch of ribs would have been ready but it had already been a long drive. I settled on Tri tip and pulled pork, my husband ordered beef ribs, Tri Tip and chicken. The pulled pork was great, I enjoyed the tangy 'hogwash' dipping juice it was served with. The tri tip wasn't overly tender but the smokey flavor was nice. The beef ribs were really good actually for not being a big fan of beef ribs myself. The chicken was rather dry unfortunately. The bread is awesome and the potato salad is now one of my favorites. The downside for me is that the place is small and it's first come first serve and they run out of pork ribs if you don't get there early but on the upside it is real, slow cook BBQ so it's worth trying if you are in the area or passing thru. read more

Order came with two pieces of garlic bread, which was awesome. The ribs were done just how I like. The meat was juicy but tight. It was not falling off the bone but pulled away easily. The brisket was juicy and the thicker pieces had a good bark. The slaw was tasty. The beans was flavorful with a sweet finish. The restaurant was clean. LOVED this place. My only drawback is that they ran out of meat before we got to the place. Several people walked in only to walk out because they had run out of almost everything by 8pm. The place was cute. If you're hungry and don't have a lot of dough$$, get the plate with chicken and something else. Apparently you can request white or dark meat, which is what my friends did. Well after going to the outlets we were hungry with my bf and decided to try this place after seeing the stars and reviews. When we got there on Sunday we were helped right away and our order was taken. We then sat down and waited for our meal. We ordered the 3 meat plate ($15) with baked beans when we learned they DO NOT SELL FRIES and the pulled pork sandwich ($9). Once we got the food we must say we were bit disappointed to see the portion sizes considering the price that was paid. The pulled pork was the best thing out of all. From the 3 meat the tritip was bland and a bit dry,the chicken was nicely cooked but also bland, and the ribs were okay. What bettered the meats was their spicy sauce and the vinegar one. If it weren't for those I must say it would've sucked. Overall the 2 person people meal came out to $35ish. Since Famous Dave's was closed we decided to try this place. Worst decision we could have made. Everything was so bland. The beans tasted like they were cooked in just chili powder, they were awful. I had potato salad which was also terrible. The chicken and tri tip had absolutely no flavor the only saving grace was the barbecue sauce. The cornbread was also bad. My husband had the ribs and they were also bland and overcooked. We will never go there again. read more

BBQ meat paradise. Hubby and I were driving back from Carmel and decided to grab something on the way home back to San Jose. And thanks to my fellow Yelpers found this little slice of meat heaven. Had to take one star off since they were out of tri-tip (one of my favorites) but the brisket and chicken was finger licking good. Sides were good and before you know it you've eaten all the food and now so full. I can see the place can get crowded but enjoyed the picnic style decor.
