Almost fell apart when I stabbed it with the fork. Melts in the mouth. A couple other slabs, however were tougher, but still tasty with bbq sauce. // Ribs. Four ribs for large plate, six ribs for half a rack. I think that pig was on a little big boned and on a diet. Not much meat, but tender and good with sauce. // Sides: mac n cheese not edible. Got the brisket and pulled pork which was wonderful and really tender. Potato salad is really good. Has a hint of a smoky flavor. Baked beans are tasty. Macaroni and cheese is okay. A bit in the dry side. Cornbread is moist. Comes with butter and honey. Garlic bread is chewy and good. The BBQ sauces come in mild and spicy. I liked both a lot but the spicy has a nice kick. Well balanced in flavor. Great selection of Beers on tap. I reheated my food the next day and it was very delicious! The potato salad seemed to have changed and tasted so much better. First served, it was not very cold and I could not taste seasonings. The next day, coming out of the fridge really cold, it's more smokey and really unique and delicious. I think it needed an overnight chill to bring out the flavors. Order outside and eat inside or outside. Con: The amount of flies inside the restaurant. They were 4-5 big ones constantly buzzing and trying to land on our food while we were sitting right in front of it waving them away. It was very gross and hard to enjoy the experience. So we took it home. I understand they must have come from the outside area but there was way too many to avoid and maybe a fly trap is needed. In Gilroy for a wedding and had some time to kill. Found this delicious roadside place. Meet a couple groups of people also enjoying some food. Tender brisket with the spicy bbq sauce. I'm a fan for sure. Mac and cheese was not my favorite. Good but I prefer a creamier base. Beans had good flavor. Garlic bread was recommended and it was good. Cool little BBQ joint, good food and a cool groove. I was in the area recently and looking for some lunch. When I came across BBQ152. Theres some really good Q to be had here. Walk up counter service with the menu boards overhead. After perusing the board a minute I decided on a two meats plate. I paid and grabbed a spot. It wasnt long and my food was brought to me. Brisket and Pulled Pork plate with cornbread, beans, slaw and sides. The brisket and pork were both fork tender and full flavored. Great charring on the brisket and the pulled pork both. The beans were pretty good, and the slaw was good but nothing special. The standout was the cornbread, truly very good. Hands down, BEST BBQ I'VE HAD IN CA so far. We stopped here on our way back from the coast and loved it. Service was fast and almost all the tables were taken when we arrived. Stopped by here for lunch on a Saturday early afternoon. Small (family?) run business with lots of indoor / outdoor seating. Hubby and I shared the large brisket meal and it was perfect for the two of us since it comes with 2 sides. The brisket was delicious, well cooked and seasoned. I didn't care much for the mac & cheese - one of the cheeses was a bit too pungent for me to go with brisket. Meh on the potato salad as well because I'm picky about amount of mayo and I like a lot more pickles in mine. But this is very much my personal preference. The salad was great considering it was from a BBQ place. The spicy sauce was SPICY! Chose Bbq 152 to get the food for a birthday party. Used their online ordering system which was super simple and got a confirmation and response right away. Also was able to add on to my order with no problems. The day of party food was ready when I arrived for scheduled pickup and was all packaged very well. Also provided us with plenty of plates, utensils, bbq sauce etc. Everyone loved the food. We had brisket, chicken and pulled pork with side of Mac and cheese, potato salad and beans. I'm very judgmental of my barbecue restaurants because my husband is the best in my book.. but the food was great and the service was even better. We're pretty picky when it comes to bbq as we're big home smokers and have traveled across the country and eaten in some amazing places for lip smacking bbq. The ribs and tri tip lacked any smoked flavors but the bbq sauce was pretty good. The coleslaw and potatoe salad was good as well. The servers seemed to have a bit of an attitude (maybe we caught them on an off day). They called our name but didn't bring the food to the table; but they did for a family next to us. We stopped here for lunch on the way to the Outlets and Monterey. What a great find! We ordered the half BBQ chicken and the Berry Bleu salad to share because we didn't want to be too full for our drive. You order at the counter, find a picnic bench and the staff brings you your food. It's such a cool location with the outdoor seating. It was cool outside but the very sunny so it was really refreshing to sit outside. We got our food in no time and was happy with how everything was delicious...the chicken was cooked well and the salad was sooo good love the apple slices and bleu cheese...yum!! Pulled Pork was awesome(4.5/5)... as you can tell by the photo, I didn't even take time to review before I finished it. Smoky flavor, and the little malt vinegar sauce they gave was Mac N Cheese was eh(2.5/5)... the lady said that and the beans(3/5) were their best sellers, but I wasn't too impressed with either. This place is amazing! Best BBQ I have ever had and they even sell the burnt ends. So good, must try. They also have a super wide variety of specialty beers. Super friendly staff. Shout out to Danny M. who helped me out. He was very knowledgeable. I told him flavor of beer I like and I was brought out, what is now, my new favorite beer- it was an Amber ale. The set up is a bit odd, due to two separated restaurant areas in which some tap beer is in one area and the others are in another area, but the vibe is very family friendly and the smell of BBQ is in the air. Found this bbq spot on my way to the Gilroy Outlets and for the most part, it did not disappoint. There's a nice selection of beers that they offer, mostly from the brand: Alvarado Street Brewery. Service here is also great - everyone is friendly and the ambiance is a very homey feel. The brisket wasn't too fatty and the tri-tip was cooked perfectly. While they offer 2 bbq sauces, the flavor for both the regular and spicy are great. You definitely need to clean up after yourself -- but not to worry, there's a "dish pit" both in inside seating, along with outside seating. For myself, the sides were the parts that didn't hit the spot for me. The bread was quite dry, and I was told the cornbread was okay. The Mac N Cheese wasn't super cheesy; it tasted a little too salty for my liking, and was more chunky than cheesy. The Potato Salad, I honestly was not a fan of and could only muster 2 spoonfuls. It tasted a bit sour and more like relish. Overall, I'd recommend the meats, which you can buy without sides. read more

The foods are delicious, he ordered the combo - brisket and pork ribs while I order the tri tip with sides of Mac and cheese, potato salad and beans plus corn bread. The only thing about the meal is that the corn bread is not that moist so it's a little hard. Service is great. I like the place, they have tables outside if you want to dine in the sun (some have shades. But there's also and indoor dining for those that wants that. Price is reasonable. All I can say is that this place is mediocre like a chain restaurant. The meat didn't taste flavorful or juicy. More like over cooked and heated up to order. Had to use sauce for every bite to give it moisture and swallow. The corn bread wasn't house made more like box made. The potato salad was lacking in flavor and savory factor. They have a huge and impressive selection of fun beers with beautiful labels that they display on the walls. They offer a few dessert options as well. The outside is fragrant from their huge outdoor smokers that you can see from the parking lot. There's plenty of parking. The food is served on a fun metal tray to give you that casual bbq-vibe. The brisket had a great smoked flavor. The bad: At $37-38, I thought the three meat combo with 2 sides would be more substantial. I thought the price was above the quality and quantity of what was received. The hot link was spicy but had the flavor of a breakfast sausage and the soft texture of a hot dog weenie. The brisket was on the dry side. The ribs were on the fatty side. The side of beans and cole slaw were in a plastic container the size of what you'd use to put condiments. The cole slaw was plain and one color/one vegetable. There were only two bbq sauce options (regular and spicy). The corn bread seemed more like regular bread to me. It was flat and less sweet than a regular corn bread. It could've used more moisture as well. Overall, I had higher expectations based on a recommendation I received.
