I love bbq chicken and this location did not disappoint. The interior is hip and clean. They don't have many tables (maybe 5?) so I'm assuming most of their business is takeout based. Got their 8 piece crispy spicy wings and ddukboki. The wings were a decent size and had a great crunch to it. The ddukboki is on the more watery side, which I didn't mind since the flavor was still there and it had a nice kick of spice to it. You also can't forget the crunchy radish that paired perfectly with the chicken. read more

bb.q chicken is consistently delish across all locations! Somehow found ourselves ordering bb.q chicken TWICE in one weekend from different locations. I generally lean towards the same items and flavors at most Korean fried chicken places. We ordered the large soy garlic boneless (24 pieces for $39.99), medium spicy original (16 pieces for $27.99), and rose ddeok-bokki ($13.99). Boneless pieces are almost the same size as the wings. So much flavor bursting in every bite. Chicken is juicy, tender, and so crispy! The accompanied pickled radish helps break up the flavors of the sweetness from the soy garlic really well. Located in the same plaza as Lucille's. bb.q chicken is sandwiched between California Fish Grill & Panera Bread. read more

I went to the soft opening of this fast, casual restaurant located off the 57 in a busy center with lots of parking. I opted for take out but they had seating for about 30 inside. The employees were eager and friendly. I ordered the Kimchi fried rice ($12.99). Half and Half secret sauce & original boneless chicken ($27.99), and rose Ddeok-bokki ($13.99). The chicken was crunchy outside, moist inside and a big hit. Rose DDeok-Bokki was creamy with a little spicy kick. Unfortunately the kimchi fried rice was over cooked. Mainly because they forgot I was in the restaurant waiting for my order. The food sat for awhile until I inquired about my order. A few minor hiccups but I will be back. read more

This is our go-to fried chicken place, and we usually order once a month. We order Uber Eats. However, today, Sept 7, our entire meal was awful. Food is mostly great: love the wings and rice dishes. Fries typically very soggy, even though I keep ordering with hopes that they'll be good. This week, I had an issue with the app. I could not login and everyone was playing stupid with regard to fixes. I called in my order and waited 25 min. When the survey arrives, I complain but am unable to submit because the "terms and conditions" do not have a valid link. My issues are not with the food or dozens of times I have frequented the local franchises. The app promises rewards and avoiding wait times. BUT IT DOESN'T WORK AND NO ONE WANTS TO FIX IT. 0 stars, but it isn't an option, sadly. I've supported this particular location since they've opened, approx 2 years. Until this last experience I've always enjoyed their customer service and quality of their chicken. Ordered over the weekend, to my surprise, their chicken smelled absolutely rank. Horrible. As if it were fried in month-old oil. It was inedible. I bought it around 5pm but didn't get to have dinner until around 11pm. Obviously too late to go back to the store. Requested a refund that night over their website and was denied. They basically stole from me. I cannot in good conscience ever give them my business again. If you ever buy from them be sure to taste it immediately or be subject to the same treatment I was subjected to. Fortunately, they're definitely not the only korean fried chicken in the area. I was so happy to hear when this place opened because it's closer to home so I can get my Korean fried chicken fix! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, we have ordered the Golden original, honey garlic, soy garlic, cheeseling chicken wings and they're very delicious. The batter is crispy and the chicken is moist and juicy inside. I think they might use peanut oil for frying since I can taste a faint hint of peanut, so just be careful if you might have a nut allergy (you can call them to verify as well) I highly recommend their rose ddeokbokki. The rice cakes are my guilty pleasure, and the sauce, fish cakes are perfectly yummy and creamy! Prices are decent, credit cards are accepted, and there's plenty of parking. read more

Hooray for another fried chicken place in town with a Korean flair! Beware - the golden original is actually rather spicy and not mild as advertised. The secret sauce is great, but only if you can handle really spicy foods. I personally like the golden original, as the kick is just right for my preference, but it's great they offer a half & half option for those who want a mix of both. The kimchi fried rice is great and surprisingly authentic. The fries and dumplings aren't good. I'm not a fan of deep fried dumplings and unfortunately, they don't offer a pan-fried option. This is definitely an indulgent meal - not a place I'd frequent, but great if you wanna treat yo'self! read more

I honestly don't know how The Refinery inside the Hilton in Brea manages to stay open. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. First off, the place looks nice when you walk in, but that's where the positives end. The service was painfully slow -- not the "busy restaurant" kind of slow, but the "did anyone remember we're here?" kind. We waited forever just to get water, and it somehow took even longer for the food. Then the food actually showed up... and wow. Bland, overpriced, and somehow still cold. It tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp since last week. For a restaurant attached to a Hilton, I expected at least basic quality, but this felt like cafeteria food with steakhouse prices. To make things worse, the staff acted like helping customers was a huge inconvenience. No check-ins, no refills, no effort. Just vibes of "please eat and leave." Between the slow service, disappointing food, and ridiculous prices, this place feels like a tourist trap hiding in a hotel lobby. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else in Brea. Even a gas station snack run would be a better experience.

Guinness isn't just another draft beer; it needs to settle, and it should be served in a proper tulip or Guinness glass to get that classic presentation. The fix is simple: slow the pour down and train the staff on the traditional method. The pub has the vibe. Now it just needs to respect the pint.
