I came a week or so before the fires! Yikes! I hope they are able to rebuild/reestablish but am happy to hear they have some pop up opportunities for now!

Clay Pot Rice - one of my favorite dishes ever!

BaSo is THE hidden gem of Sonoma county. Their Asian-inspired menu is creative and inspired, the owners and staff are amazing and the food is spectacular. They're up and running and creating their magic even in their temporary space, so check their calendar and prepare to be impressed. I can't get enough of their clay pot rice (comes in a steaming hot pot that crackles when the sauce is poured over it. You stir it up - scraping the sides/bottom to scour up the delectable crispy bits, and swoon. Be sure to add their homemade chili crisp (and take a jar of it home)! Their Zhong dumplings are also to die for - nothing on their menu disappoints. Don't miss it!

The service is enthusiastic however it seems like they could be short staffed since our server kept apologizing for taking so long. We found the food to be on salty side which challenging. Perhaps more rice would have helped.

What an absolute west county gem. Where to begin. I've been to Baso a few times solo for lunch and finally got to go with a group the other night and try all the things. Everything is incredible. They have fun side drinks with some of the dishes (tea, broth) and I love the added touch of thoughtful plate ware. If you're looking for authentic elevated chinese inspired dishes this is the only spot. 11/10

We had a large group and had an amazing time at Bazaar Sonoma. Super friendly staff and everything came out in a timely manner. The food was incredible. Unique flavors with the classic style of Asian dishes. I can't wait to come back.

Silken Egg with Tomato and Cucumbers

We ordered silken egg and tomato and the fish eggplant and siu mai and cucumbers for appetizers, and every dish was very authentic and delicious! The silken egg is like a savory custard and was very tasty! The servers were very helpful and friendly!

A solid choice for dinner in Forestville area. Wins were the savory, eggplant and the tender and flavorful beef rice bowl. The night we went the dumplings were tough, the lamb skewers chewy, cucumber salad bland and the whole fish was overcooked and under seasoned. However others in our group had better experiences with other nights so maybe it was an off night for us.

While visiting my sister and her boyfriend in Forestville, we enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Boso. The food was delicious, the service was wonderfully chill, and the relaxed atmosphere made for a perfect evening with a couple of glasses of wine.

Glad I got to try here with a friend today! We weren't too hungry so bought some stuff to go. While there - we got the lotus root, the lamb skewers, and the fish (sole) to try. The lotus root was savory and crunchy, I liked it paired with the wood ear mushrooms. The lamb was juicy and the rub on it was yummy. My favorite was the fish. It was cooked well and the pickled greens were a great addition. We scooped pieces up and ate it over rice - scrumptious. The ambiance is quirky and reminds me of an Asian night market. It was busy; the staff were friendly and attentive. Looking forward to trying the Taiwan pork and the pea shoots dishes I got to go! Also looking forward to future events by the chef!

Vegetarian clay pot with rice, tofu and mushrooms.

Oh gosh this place is soo good. You have order inside and they bring the food out to you in a cute outside sitting area. My friend and I shared some zhong chili crisp dumplings, which were delicious. There were plenty there that could've made a meal in itself, but we did each order an entrée. I had the vegetarian clay pot which had a very flavorful broth with tofu and rice. The being having a fantastic char at the bottom that I just don't think you would get with food to take out. I had the barley tea which was actually cold over ice. It was tasty, but it also was very weak that I could barely taste the barley flavor. My friend ordered another glass and it was stronger for her. The customer service was excellent and the prices were fair. It's such a cute town that I don't visit very often, but I think I will now that I know Bazaar Sonoma is there.

I stopped this place randomly. Initially, I was skeptical but decided to give it a shot! I am glad I did it. Their Zhong Dumplings were on spot! The only thing I would like if they were more spicy. But that's my personal preference. I really liked their Xinjiang Lamb Skewers! They blew me away with juiciness and great seasoning! Their Baso Siu Mai were ok, but I ate them after spicy dumplings and Lamb skewers so don't take me on it fully. And finally, their hainan chicken rice was amazing finish to all above mentioned appetizers! This place is definitely great and worth to check out. I was initially confused with style cuisine before I look at menu. I thought it was Korean but menu resolve the issue right away. I dropped star only because of ambiance- it kinda looked typical Chinatown dumpling but that was all. They need to add some decor and it will be good. Service was amazing.

Sonoma County needs a gem like Bazaar Sonoma (BaSo). Chinese food is my favorite cuisine so I had to come check this place out! Upon arriving, I was greeted with a warm welcome, offered menus and seating anywhere. The restaurant is a L shape with the left being the bar and the right where all the seating are. We found a little table, chose our dishes, went up to the counter to order/pay. We loved the Japan night life scenery playing on the TV. We noticed some pre-packaged foods for sale (ramen, sunflower seeds, cookies etc). Though the menu is small (for now), it consists of cold dishes, made to order dumplings, noodles and rice. Dinner is the same menu as lunch though I was informed upon asking that next week they would feature new soups and stews! Our Chrysanthemum tea came arrived first. For dishes, we ordered the won ton noodle soup, Zhong Dumplings (spicy) and the Jai vegetable dumplings. It was enough to share for the two of us. Zhong Dumplings is spicy with a hint of sweet. The Jai Vegetable was more muted so we dipped those into the Zhong sauce, worked out well! The won ton soup was a big bowl of egg noodles, pork & shrimp dumplings. It was so appetizing and a perfect dish for a cold, winter's day. I love the traditional Chinese menu but with an innovative twist. This is not your typical Chinese American restaurant. According to the owners they are inspired by the concept of family meals, food they grew up eating in China, as well as regional Chinese cuisine based on Szechuan recipes. I cant wait til they are fully up and running with a full dinner menu because I will definitely be back! BaSo, you have won over my taste buds..and my heart.

I've been waiting for a restaurant like this for this cute town! Finally! From the beginning, the staff was very welcoming, hospitable, and personable. It was dinner time and they had a special that I couldn't resist especially when the girl at the counter said it was her absolute favorite. I don't know what it was called, but it was delicious! It's like a Korean stew with cheese and can feed 3-4 people. The rice cakes were perfectly chewy and went so well with the tasty sauce. The meat could've been cooked a tad more, but it didn't take away from the yummy dish. It also came with a flavorful rice and an abundance of kimchi and a picked radish. Can't wait to try the other dishes! So happy to have Bazaar Sonoma in Forestville!

Let's start with the menu. Lots of interesting sounding dishes. However we had to ask for a description of several items. The staff person mumbled a few things and seemed put out we asked. After going through some of the items we both chose something to order however, each time we gave the young man order, he'd say "we don't have it". I'd say close to 1/3 of menu was not available. So we settled on our order yet really bummed the food we wanted was not an option. The food- so underwhelming. My friend & I eat Indian food often and we're so looking forward to satisfying our hunger. My food didn't not taste like Indian food in the least. The rice was way overcooked and my dish resembled spaghetti. My friend said hers was tasty but the size of an appetizer. The naan was the worst I've had- extremely tiny, dry and no flavor (we ordered garlic). When we left, even though we were quite displeased, we said thank you & good-bye. We received no response.

The balance between the flavor of the chocolate, the spiciness, and other warm spices was incredible. My partner got the dark mocha, which was also delicious! In terms of food, we got: Pancakes from the North and added a side of egg. The pancake is super thin, almost like a crepe, and comes with sides of whipped cream, syrup, butter, and lingonberry jam. This was absolutely delicious, would definitely get again. Groovy sconed and gravy - this was the extra winner for us because we are pescatarians and don't usually get to find a gravy we can eat! The veg version has cheddar herb scones (regular version is cheddar-bacon) in a gravy (not sure what they use for the gravy, but we did confirm it's vegetarian). The gravy was thick and delicious, the scones were hearty enough to not get totally soaked and soggy, and the poached egg it came with was perfectly jammy. Our dog was obsessed with the doggie meatballs, she gives it 11/10! We got a sweet scone to eat later, which was also divine. I am definitely coming back next time I'm in town! (FYI, I'm super woo :)) Then, my sister-in-law raved about it, declaring it the best pizza she's ever had. (Or something incredibly declarative like that.) We decided to give it a try. Upon walking in, Fugazi was playing in the shop. That was a good sign. When do you ever hear Fugazi playing at an establishment nowadays, the last time was probably in a record shop in the 90s. The pizzas are displayed, and you choose how much of each pizza you'd like and they will cut some off for you and it is priced by weight. Then, they heat it up for you to melt the cheese, and viola! Served with cloth napkins, pizza scissors, if desired when eating-in. (Truly the most brilliant way to cut pizza!) Immediately, I saw "OG Potato" and that was a must have. It was something like Potato, ricotta, chile oil, mozzarella, dill. (Just to cut to the chase on this one, it was incredible! I am obsessed with ricotta, and there was something about all the combination of flavors especially the dill that gave some freshness amongst the rich taste of everything else.) Others we got were the pepperoni, a 4 cheese, and a vegan one with no cheese, just tomato sauce, roasted garlic, olives (there may have been other stuff on it, but that's what I remember) Everything was incredible, even the vegan one. The tomato sauce was so high quality, and I was glad there wasn't any vegan cheese on it. Just veggie tastiness in its purest form. The sourdough crust was light and fluffy. It was all just so high quality, and you can feel the passion for their food. Oh yeah, I almost forgot a big star: the Kale Caesar. Don't sleep on that one. It's one of the best salads we've had in years. It was flavorful, with bits of sunflower seeds to give it crunch. Dressing was on-point with a mountain of fluffy parm on top. And so here's the thing with the current state of eating establishments. There is so much expensive mediocre food out there. Nowadays, you may pay $12 for a salad that's out of a bag with wilted ends and sorry baby carrots. And so, considering there's a place that's putting beautifully intentional food out there, I'd rather choose to go to the place that is high quality and cares about their food and sustainability. We topped off our experience with soft serve and a cookie. The soft serve was amazing. We got it 'eat-in' and it was high quality soft-serve in a whimsical cup and presidential spoons. (Love the sustainability angle, but also the whimsy) You can get it with olive oil and sea salt and other toppings, but I went pure. It was milky and homey, and just gooood. (My hubs wanted the cookie) Not to mention, service was genuine. There was a slow, no-rush vibe to this place that might piss some people off. But given its name, I feel like it's apt. It's Psychic Pie for god's sake, and the ethereal does not rush. In the ethereal, time doesn't exist!!! (lol) You can feel that every part of this establishment is in the vision of its owner, wanting the experience to be a part of their authenticity and values. And we need more of that in this world right now. (And I don't mean some skewed sense of 'authenticity' as in just saying whatever comes to mind and is 'in your face' that has infiltrated our society today) This is true authenticity I'm talking about - an expression of your own Light essence. (See, I told you I'm woo) Speaking of which, the music continued to be my jam at my time here... likely to be a Pixies radio mix, with awesome 90s punk / indie. Some songs I hadn't heard in decades but love. So, it was like entering into someone's establishment that's part of my soul tribe. So, if any of the above sound like your jam too... give it a try!

Then, you get to determine how big of a piece you want. They cut it to your liking (in Italy this is called Al Taglio)and then you pay for it by the weight. They always have several options. The other thing that makes the pizza here so special is their use of sourdough crust. I love the texture and flavor that the crust gives to every pizza here. The service is always really good and very helpful. Once you pick your pizzas they will heat up your slices and then dress it up with extra toppings such as herbs, grated cheeses, oils, etc. One of the owners is typically working and they are such lovely people. On this particular visit, my wife and I ordered five different pizzas to try. One of my favorites is the OG Potato, which is covered in thin sliced, crispy potato, ricotta, mozzarella, creme fraiche, dill and chives. It is so rich and creamy. My new favorite is a pizza with blue cheese, walnuts, and caramelized onions that knocked my socks off. Unfortunately, I didn't get the name of that one. There was another new one to me which was the Hot coppa Striacatella. I don't know if I've ever seen charred chicory on a pizza before but it worked really well with the spicy coppa. I also tried the vegan slice which was really good and the Funguy, which is subtle but still tasty. I highly recommend you come try Psychic Pie if you've never been here. It is a Sebastopol must-do!
