I had lunch with Emily at What The Pho, and we had a delightful lunch. This is Emily's fave pho place in Sonoma County. I have Thai tea. So good. I know it's not the right nationality, but I enjoy Thai Tea. It was the perfect amount of sweetness and a good portion-size. We started with the shrimp spring rolls. I love shrimp spring rolls. They're so simple but so yummy. And the peanut sauce, SENSATIONAL. I love peanut sauce too. Then came the pho, the star of the show. We had the steak pho. The meat was cooked perfectly. Normally, I don't love the thinly sliced meat in pho and ramen, but this one was cooked perfectly. They had so many sauces available. A major plus. Emily got two servings out of her pho. I didn't have breakfast though so I ATE. The staff was kind and attentive. Will definitely be back.
Wonderful meal! A friend took a retired (and very picky) chef here for lunch and he really enjoyed the pho. I've been anxious to try it ever since. We were greeted by the friendly owner (?) and he told us we could take a seat wherever we wanted. There were several people enjoying a late lunch on both sides of the restaurant. I noticed that most of the customers had ordered the pho. We decided to try: - Fresh spring rolls - delicious! Large shrimp, fresh ingredients. Tasty dip. - Garlic noodle plate - noodles were a nice thickness, bouncy and flavored well. Protein was the bbq pork as we were told that's a customer favorite. Veggies were hot and cooked perfectly. - Steak pho - broth was delightful, clean and fresh tasting, with thin slices of tender meat. Noodles were a nice consistency and not mushy. I loved it even more with the bean sprouts, jalapeno, basil and a touch of lime. Everything was timed perfectly, spring rolls came out first for us to enjoy. Server, who I think is the owner, checked on us and refilled my water without having to ask. He promptly cleans up tables after customers leave so the place always looks clean and neat. Overall, a lovely meal. We will be back soon! Located in the Larkfield Center between Cookie... Take a Bite and Exchange Bank. Lots of parking available.
We decided to get Pho after finding our fav ramen place closed on Sundays. This Pho is def good & full of clean tasting flavor plus the shrimp was cleaned properly which is great! The star of this meal was the appetizers. Delicious spring rolls and veggie egg rolls that tasted freshly made with sauce that went perfectly with them. The ambiance was clean and they had a bunch of live plants to brighten it up making the ambiance very tranquil/ pleasant! Service was excellent!
I've heard a lot about this place and was happy to finally check it out after a long walk with a friend. We started with the fresh spring rolls, which were absolutely delicious. I loved how thin and tender the wrap was--not tough at all--and it was generously filled with vegetables, complemented by a very satisfying peanut sauce. We also shared the tofu curry with vegetables, which was quite tasty. I added some of the house-made chili oil, and it really kicked the flavors up a notch. The ambiance is lovely, with gorgeous photos lining the walls, and the manager/owner is very personable and welcoming. We didn't try the pho this time, but since it's said to be the star of the restaurant, I'll definitely be back to try it.

We picked this place to try because we were preparing ourselves for giving birth at Sutter hospital and wanted to see how the food in the area was in case we needed it. The day we first stopped in here was around one of the hospitals childbirth or baby prep classes and we were so glad we did. The location is easy to get to, and has lots of accessible parking that it shares with the shopping mall. We were one of two tables filled when we arrived, and the person helping us was friendly and speedy. I ordered the vermicelli bowl and he ordered the steak and brisket pho, and our food was out super fast. At the time, I was extremely pregnant and never sure how much I could eat or how I'd do with smells, but this was so good, I ate the entire bowl. Hubs enjoyed his phone as well, so we were both very happy with our meals. Prices seemed really on point for the quality, the flavors were bold, and the food was made really well. The only downside to our visit was getting out of the parking lot. It is always so frustrating trying to turn left out of this entire lot! Other than that, a really great experience that I would go to again if in the area.
Food and service is top tier. They have expanded since the last time we were here, so glad to see that they are keeping busy. Food is great, large portions like always & the vibe is nice and chill inside. A must try!
Showed up as a party of three with a toddler at 5pm on a Sunday. Plenty of seating available. Waiter was friendly and just the right level of attentive. The food was good, standard Viet fare. The broth was rich and one of the better ones I have had in Sonoma. I also ordered the crispy tofu vermicelli and would not recommend the tofu. It was good but lacking in flavor. Could have used a bit more white pepper. Overall I would revisit. Food was as expected and not heavy on the salt.
Drove from Santa Rosa to try this place as a pho lover and half viet gal. We got the pork spring rolls, came with peanut sauce & nuoc mam dipping sauces. The pork was red roasted bbq, sweet and savory. For entrees, I got the beef pho with rare steak and brisket, my boyfriend got the garlic noodles with chicken. Both dishes had solid portions and were yummy at a decent price point.

When you visit, ask for "The Usual" It's Rare Steak Pho with cooked steak and coconut water to drink. Best soup after my momma's. The service is great, sister Lee, brother Twuang, friend Kong run this place and they are the friendliest people in restaurant service ever. Ambiance is great too. Tropical plants and old times pictures on the walls really make you feel immersed in Vietnamese culture. read more
We came here for dinner on our first night in Santa Rosa. We were pretty hungry and decided to give this place a try since it had such high ratings. We came in a large group, but we split up by family since seating is pretty limited, which made things a little easier. I ordered the beef pho with steak and brisket, the pork spring rolls, and the combo rice plate. The pho came out piping hot, which was great, but the lady who brought out the food forgot the vegetables that came with it. My daughter didn't realize they were missing until she had already eaten most of her pho. The combo rice plate was just okay. The fish sauce that came with it was quite salty, and the rice was hard and seemed undercooked. The pork spring rolls were also different from what we're used to. We typically have spring rolls with boiled, unseasoned pork, which pairs well with the peanut dipping sauce. Here, the pork was grilled and seasoned, same meat as what was in my rice plate and unfortunately, we didn't care for it as much. On the plus side, the staff were nice and friendly. One of the workers gave my friend a can of beer and also gave me one as an apology for the forgotten vegetables with the pho, which was a thoughtful gesture. Overall, the service was friendly and they made an effort to make up for the mistake, but unfortunately, the food was underwhelming. We expected more based on the ratings and probably wouldn't go out of our way to return. read more

Dang! Wow, what a gem! My partner ate absolutely every single drop of his beef combination Pho. The whole time he was eating it he kept looking up at me and saying this is very good. I'm not kidding. He did that like five times. We also got the egg rolls and they were very good. The owner was so nice and friendly. We can't wait to come back. read more

Amazing service, delicious food and clean ambiance. Kong was a wonderful sever, our food was fresh and came out so quick! This was my first time trying this restaurant and it will now be a go to restaurant for me and my family. I can't express how fresh my food tasted. The chicken spring rolls were so fresh with pickled vegetables, cucumbers, rice noodles and lettuce. Lastly our limeades were delicious and refreshing. Can't wait to go back soon! read more
Tiny dining room. Arrived at 5:00pm for dinner and there was one of the six indoor tables available. During our 30 minute meal we saw a few people walk in hoping for a table who were disappointed that they had to wait. So you may want to plan your arrival outside peak meal time hours. Happy welcome from owner. Instantly the menus and water were put on table. Small & focused menu of the Vietnam - American cuisine we all know and love. See the Yelp photos of the one page / two sided paper menu. I ordered the combo vermicelli bowl. Bambie got the chicken rice plate. We both ate every morsel. Tasty food. We had our first visit to What the Pho (online is What's the Pho but signage is What the Pho?) in Larkfield last night. Husband got the mixed Pho, me the pork Bun and adult son a chicken curry. Excellent all around. I couldn't resist eating the Pho broth. I wasn't mine but when you're married you share. . All very good and decent prices. Attentive staff and a clean environment. We will return. read more
From out of town and dropped by to this pho place! Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming. We ordered eggs rolls and two different types of pho. I really enjoyed the broth it was super flavorful. The meat and noodles were also good! The egg rolls weren't my favorite but might have just been because we ordered pork ones. It seems like they have some small kinks to work out with ordering paying etc but overall would recommend!! read more
