It was my first time in Santa Rosa and I was craving Vietnamese food, so I found this spot on Yelp. The space is pretty small, but after chatting with the owners (I'm Vietnamese too!), I learned it's a family-run business with just the husband and wife which made total sense why they looked a little stressed haha. This place continues to serve up a full array of dishes and they have a portable a/c unit in the main dining area now! I was so happy since I normally stop visiting when the temps rise. We arrived around 1:45 when the lunch crowd had cleared out. The owner asked us to sit at one of his larger tables which gave us plenty of room. We decided to order: - Curry chicken with rice and an added egg - Vermicelli bowl with grilled pork and egg roll - Pork banh mi It was a hot day so the a/c and iced water were welcomed. Our food was delivered to our table by the owner when it was ready. Everything looked great like usual. The #45 is my go-to and I have never been disappointed. It comes with vermicelli noodles, cucumber slivers, lettuce and a satisfying dressing that you can pour over your bowl of yumminess. My lunch was as delicious as I remembered. My husband tried a new dish of curry chicken. It was a generous serving of chicken chunks flavored in curry. It was not saucy like a normal curry. He also got the banh mi which had pork slices, sliced jalapeno, cilantro, slivered carrots and daikon. The banh mi roll was surprisingly soft, different texture than other banh mi sandwiches we have ordered. We have leftovers for tomorrow! When it cools down, I look forward to trying their pho noodles. I saw other customers eating it when we walked in and it looked really good. I had the delight of trying Lee's Noodle House and let me tell you that this place is as authentic Vietnamese as it gets. It's pretty comparable to the food you can get in Vietnamese population dense cities like San Jose. It definitely gives the old Noodle House vibe, especially with the interior and menu design. The staff were super friendly. Plenty of parking in the lot. I got the Lee's Special Noodle soup, which consists of egg noodles and some roasted chicken. The broth itself is liquid gold! You can bet my bowl was empty. The noodles had a nice spring to them. The chicken itself was seasoned very well and the pieces pretty large! I left feeling extremely satisfied. Glad to have chanced upon this restaurant, very close to the Hampton Inn & Suites in Santa Rosa. Had lunch and of course, had to try the pho. The broth's flavor was on point and authentic. The shop owners were Vietnamese and you can tell by looking at the decor on the wall and the music in the background. Also ordered the pork and shrimp fresh spring rolls. No complaints there. Also tried the Vermicelli bowl with Grilled Pork and Shrimp. Again, it was delicious. Would be happy to come here again when the opportunity presents itself. Oh wow. In Santa Rosa for medical things and wanted some pho. Checked online and the closest place we had been to prior and it was lacking. Found Lee's Noodle House and the menu was enticing. It is tucked away in a strip mall, and small in size. And had the best beef stew over rice noodles. Having just had surgery I was looking for a rich flavorful broth, and that is what I got. A very belated review- Lee's Noodle House was our go to for years by many staff where I worked. I'm retired now and was craving some superb noodles & knew just the spot. Upon entering you will notice how clean the restaurant is. Although small its cheery decor is pleasing. The servers are very kind. I had the vegetarian Bun with egg rolls & my friend had the pork Bun with a spring roll. Both of our dishes were delicious! I really wanted to like Lee's Noodle House, but my experience was very disappointing. Our waiter was rude and didn't speak to us at all when taking our order -- it felt like we were bothering him just by being there. I also couldn't help but notice he had thick dirt under his nails, then went outside for a smoke and came right back in without washing his hands. The restaurant itself didn't feel clean, and when I went to the bathroom, the curtain to the kitchen was slightly open. I wish I hadn't looked, it was very dirty back there. I ordered the beef and green onion, but it was mostly onion with very little beef. Overall, this was not a good experience, and I won't be coming back. After coming here for dinner last night and reading some of the reviews, I couldn't help but write this. Let's just clarify some things. This is an authentic Vietnamese noodle restaurant. They're not trying to pander to anyone else's taste and they're providing what is their food from their homeland. So, if you don't like these flavors, and never had authentic Vietnamese flavors, there are other Asian establishments that may be more to your liking. If you've never had fish sauce... you may want to go to some more asian-fusion-y place where the fish sauce is diluted first and see if you like it. This place just isn't for everyone, and that's okay. This family is making their food, and maybe you like it, maybe you don't... just like some people like some foods and others not, but that doesn't make it bad. For example, I had the Bun Bo Hue. I found it to be glorious. My husband (who is caucasian, and generally likes a lot of asian food), was not a fan of it. It crossed over for him to be 'too asian' of a taste - which is totally fair with its 'strange' meats which I love, but not for him. He still absolutely loved his pork vermicelli noodle, and we are both excited to go back and try more. Next: The service. I will admit, I am not Vietnamese, I am Chinese. And I noticed a lot of authentic Chinese places will get bad reviews because of the service, because non-Chinese people don't understand the culture. Chinese people don't coddle. They are people 'on the go' and that includes the service. They are fast, and they don't come around and make sure you are okay. If you need something, they expect you to wave them down and ask them. Lee's Noodle House is clearly a small, family owned, hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese noodle joint. They're not trying to win awards for impeccable service. They're simply trying to cook their food, and feed it to people. In Asia, noodle houses are 'fast food'. You order your bowl of noodle, they quickly submit the order and food is placed in front of you fast. You slurp it up. And you pay and you go. Here in America, there are all sorts of noodle places. So, if you don't like this, go to one of those noodle places where you have to pay $25 for a bowl of noodles. No judgement! I go there sometimes too. I'm just saying ya'll. Know yourself, and know where you're eating. And respect cultures you are not familiar with. P.S. I love that the owner is responding to some of these negative reviews straight forward. Not to say this place is perfect. I don't know if I was blown away necessarily which is why I give it 4 stars. It could change the more I go there. So let's just say this brother should be renamed " better than s** broth" I had the #13 (round eye and well done brisket) It was so flavorful I just really can't quite describe how much I adored it. Kinda crazy! The menu is big and has a lot of choices that should please everyone. There were a lot of very authentic items you don't see everywhere in Sonoma County too. This place is a real gem. I came across a few social media post on Lee's Noodle House, via Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook and even few News segment. Where the owner's daughter felt sad for her dad, waiting for customers. I can relate as my uncle had a Vietnamese restaurant during my childhood days, so I wanted to check out Lee's Noodle House and support them. Even if it meant 2 hours drive plus I was staying out at San Jose which had tons of Vietnamese cuisine. I gave that up on my last day of vacation and made the road trip over. We got to meet Jennifer ( still attending college, she flew down to help her parents during the weekend) and she was super sweet, she was so surprised to hear that we visited from Hawaii and drove from San Jose, she was apreciative and thanked us for that. This was back in February. I haven't been to Santa Rosa so it was a nice drive and experience. Such a tourist, we took a few pics of business before entering. We stopped by for early dinner, they were busy and customer continued to walk in, during my time there. Besides our 2 entree I wanted to get banh mi but they were out. Our orders were the seafood egg noodle soup and pork chop rice combo. I wanted the crab meat loaf but that is not available at Lee's. It was fine, we enjoyed our food. I've never had pork chop Vietnamese style for awhile and it sure hit the spot. The soup broth was tasty and egg noodles was nice and firm just how I like it. All in all, We enjoyed our meals and the service was great. We also got to meet the Mr.Lee, (daughter's dad) he brought out our entrees, he was very friendly. We'd seen a lot of about this place on Facebook and Tiktok so we were glad to be able to try it this week! And what a gem it is! It's tucked in a quiet little spot but lots of parking in the area. Took mom here for mother's day and we enjoyed the two soups. The lemon grass chicken is ridiculously delicious I requested to have it separate and not in the soup so it stays nice and crispy. Tried Lee's recently end of Feb to see what the hype was all about. I called and place a to go order of egg rolls, chicken fried rice, shrimp chow mein. Food was OK nothing special. Fried rice was black peppered up. The chow mein was thin eggs noodles instead of the thicker chow mein noodles I'm used to. It was cold and rainy today, and pho sounded great. Lee's Noodle House is still a great place to get your favorite Vietnamese dishes, along with a quiet atmosphere. Our food was brought out quickly after we ordered it, with the drinks and potstickers coming first. The broth of the pho was so rich with flavor that I had to finish all of it. How have I never left this place a review?! We constantly come here. It's the most authentic Vietnamese food I've had in Sonoma and THE BEST PHO honestly the best everything. It's family owned, the service is great, very kind staff. Sometimes there's a bit of a rush but the food still comes out in a timely manner. Quite a bit of tables and in summertime I think they add some outside aswell. The prices are very reasonable. Literally apps are like 7-13$ maybe LARGE bowl of pho was only 14.95 and like I said this is the best pho I've had since moving to Sonoma. Everywhere else I've went to the broth was watered down and had no flavor. We spend 50$ today for 2 large pho tai, shrimp and pork spring rolls, a pork bah mi sandwich AND chicken fried rice.
