Located in DT Santa Rosa, the restaurant is a small one, but not crowded at all (at least on New Year's Eve)! The sandwiches were really good, especially with the pate, but kinda small! This place is hands down one of the most incredible and underrated spots in downtown Santa Rosa. I have an obsession with the tofu bahn mi as well as the Vietnamese style spring rolls, which have vermicelli noodles inside. I get the tofu bahn mi very frequently yet i wolf it down like it's my first time EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It has a chokehold on me. The bread always has a pleasant crunch and the way they flavor the tofu is incredible. I would recommend this sandwich even to people who eat meat and definitely to people who have never tried a bahn mi before. I've had combination banh mi from here many times in the past, but I would have to say, today's sandwich hit a home-run for me. I can't get over just how perfect it was. The best traditional banh mi can be found in the South Bay, but this place is just as good, if not better. The bun is nicely toasted, crisp but not hard. The meat was tasty, pate super creamy and the tangy pickled vegetables balanced off the richness of the mayonnaise sauce. Party in my mouth with all the amazing flavors. The food was pretty underwhelming though. the pork vermicelli was okay, but the veggie pho was just not great to me. The tofu was like a puffed tofu that got very soggy quickly, and the broth had kind of a weird flavor. Very salty and kind of sweet. Both were big portions, but just not as good as other Vietnamese places I've had. If we go back, next time I would try the Bahn Mi as the reviews all rave about those. read more
