You have to check in with the receptionist, pay in advance, and obtain lunch tickets. As we entered the café on this Thursday, we noticed the place was nearly full. There was a lady dining by herself and the servers asked her if she wouldn't mind some company. She ended up being the sweetest lady and we had a wonderful time chatting with her throughout our lunch. They offer two main entrees each week plus there is also the option of getting a large soup and salad if you want to skip the main entrée. We ordered: Fried chicken sandwich and the mushroom shepherd's pie. We had a choice of soup or salad and a drink. Their lunches have always been outstanding. The chicken sandwich had a coleslaw-like mixture on top of the chicken and it all came on a brioche bun. The meat was not dry at all. My shepherd's pie was amazing. Lots of lentils and mushroom with a parmesan mashed potato topping. Totally awesome meals. The servers are incredibly sweet and they refill drinks and take away your dishes as you finish. Even though the room was filled with diners, the volunteer servers make you feel like they are there for you and only you. Thank you! Lunch is served 11:30-1:30. $10 for members/$12 for non-members. Brunch is served on Fridays at the same time. Menu changes weekly.

Food tho... yikes The bagels and large and taste like they are made from the dough used to make Safeway white bread. With a lot of blandness. I say this after buying 6 different ones and everyone's input and my own opinion who at on them that morning. I also bought three croissants, one bear claw style with nuts, one that had generic apple pie filling in it and one that seemed to have chopped walnuts and a cinnamon butter inside: one was good but the apple one was not, it would have been better plain. The other two were not bad but they were not very decadent or special considering the cost. Plus they were only ok after we heated them in the microwave in a damp towel then air fryer. I was told they were fresh but they were not it if they were fresh they were extremely dry and stale tasting. I think calling in our order made us prey for them slipping in the old or undesirable ones. It was over $30 which is more than what we usually pay at grateful bagel and the bagels at this place are a crime. We did the drive thru. I hate leaving bad reviews but I don't want to me complicate in these bagels.

I saw the day-old rack and got one bag of bagels (6) and one box of danish (6) each for $4.50. It was an astounding amount of food for $9.00. Brew is a colorful cafe right on the corner of B…read moreSt and Healdsburg Ave. It has cute outdoor seating with umbrellas and plenty of chairs and tables inside without feeling cramped. It's got bar seating too! There's also some board games if you want something to play with friends over drinks. Ordered a 12oz matcha latte with almond milk ($7) and opted to have it unsweetened. Overall smooth but not too strong, and a tiny bit sweet probably from whatever almond milk they use! I like mine a bit stronger and it's not the best I've had but decent! "For here" mugs are always a plus in my book too. Brew is unique that it doubles as a cozy bar too once the late afternoon rolls around. They've got interesting events happening throughout the month posted on their sign. Some of their food and pastries are sourced from local Red Bird Bakery and Village Bakery too if you're hungry! Parking might suck, you could find street parking maybe on 8th St or if you're early you could park by the meters for free before 9AM. There's a $1/hr parking garage right nearby but if there's nothing, best to park at SR Plaza for free and make the 5min walk over. I really like the vibes of Brew and wanna come back for a happy hour one day! It's nice to see a very queer friendly cafe/bar rolled into one!

It provides the perfect atmosphere for studying and not having a feeling of being rushed. This past weekend, my husband suggested we check out a cafe we haven't been to for breakfast. I mentioned Brew even though I have been there. He took a look at their social and menu and thought it looked pretty good! We very much enjoyed slowing down for a moment while enjoying our breakfast burrios and mochas. I love having my coffee in an actual mug when I'm staying at a cafe for a bit. It's just a nice cozy touch. The breakfast burritos were good but they could be mixed a little better. It was very sectioned by egg, cheese, potato and bacon. Like each bite only had one. Layering might help this but the flavor was still amazing! Brew is known for being welcoming to everyone and that has never changed. We love the environment and the service they provide!

It has a kind of odd location in a warehouse building north of Railroad Square. I actually miss their old location near Julliard Park, but this location probably works better for their business. One of the main reasons I come here is their abundance of gluten free pastries. I try to avoid eating a lot of gluten as I don't feel great after eating it. They even make a few vegan gluten free options if you can't have dairy as well. They also have great savory bowls and breakfast burritos. On my most recent visit we ordered a breakfast veggie burrito and it was delicious! Lots of fresh cooked veggies! I recommend grabbing a packet of cholula hot sauce and putting it on the burrito! I also want to add a shout out to the Warrior Bowl! Delicious and healthy, although I don't get it at this last visit. I typically grab a gluten free muffin or scone. It's really hard to fine good gluten free pastries, but these are really good. On my last visit, I got a non-gluten free pastry and tried their cinnamon roll and an Ube Kite, which was a limited time special. The cinnamon roll was a bit dry, but these Ube kite was very good! Another thing I really like to get at Criminal is their pie. You can order whole ones or just get slices. They are excellent! The service is typically really great here! The only thing I don't love is the indoor dining area, which just feels a bit weird. Get a table outside or walk to a bench in the nearby park.

Our waiter was very attentive and professional, and overall we were pleased with our experience. We ordered: Menudo: This comes with a pork hock and loooooots of tripas. My limes were a bit dry, but aside from that the flavor was very spot on and it was very filling. Tres leches french toast: Yummmmm, delicious! I'm not sure how 'tres leches'-y it was, but definitely milky, moist, and crunchy on the outside. It worked for me! Conchas: Ok this actually blew me away. I'm used to conchas being dry and not very satisfying, but these literally stayed soft DAYS after I brought them home. The souffle topping on top covered the entire top of the concha and this was an absolute delight. Honestly, best conchas I've had in the US so far. I wouldn't mind coming here again and trying other items. Personally, the loudness of the "birthday music" (reggaeton) was a little much for a morning/brunch hour, but people seemed to enjoy the hype.
