This cozy little corner Café is neat and tidy with friendly Service. The kitchen is clean as a whistle and the food is pretty darn good! I only had a cheese quesadilla, so I can't really speak for all the food, but there were a few shelves of fresh baked goods at reasonable prices. They also have a sophisticated barista machine for high-quality coffee blends. A wide selection of smoothies are also available. While you're waiting for your freshly prepared food, there's some awesome, beautifully curated merch from Mexico and South America. Parking is decent and if you're lucky, you can find a spot right in front. A couple of outdoor seating tables and chairs are also offered, though depending on the time of day, it might get pretty hot! read more

A little hole in the wall place, hidden in a strip mall, with delightful staff and good coffee. We shared a large, delicious berry scone (we went later and the bakery was almost cleared out!) There's also a large selection of handcrafted items that were very cool. I bought the cutest stuffed animals for my granddaughter! Definitely recommend, and would go back if in the area. read more

Feb 2023 Grabbed food to go since we were on our way out to Bodega Bay for the day. The ladies at the front were helpful with any questions that we had. In retrospect, I probably could've called it in but I had never been here before. I had gotten a curry wrap with tofu and avocado. Flavors worked well. The curry sauce was a bit light but the tofu took to it nicely. I'd say it would've been nice being wrapped more tightly since it kinda fell apart, and was quite messy with all the sauce. Good for to go though along to other adventures, but I will probably order ahead next time for ease. read more

I have been here probably a dozen times! I always have one of the delicious salads, usually the tea leaf salad (or something like that!). It's always plenty. I had a very nice green juice too. Tons of parking. Very understated, as the tables (with sun-shades!) are right next to the parking spots. Very inexpensive and fast service makes it very convenient. I was on the way to the coast and looking for a wrap or juice. I asked to use the restroom before ordering which must be a problem for them? A lady in the kitchen got very upset and began repeating herself that it was for customers only which I totally understand. I ordered a juice so that she wouldn't have to cook anything since she was acting so intense. The lady managing her was helpful and kind and based on most reviews this place seems good to support. The Westside Café is one of my favorite restaurants in Sevastopol. I've been going there since they opened and love everything they make, especially the spring rolls and curry dishes. The spring rolls are the freshest and best I've ever had, even better than at Vietnamese restaurants in the county. The ladies who own and run this business are among the nicest people I've ever met. That's what you'll experience at Westside Café, a fantastic little café tucked away in the corner of a small shopping center in Sebastopol. The folks here make their baked goods fresh every morning, and they know a thing or two about pastry, turning out the best scones I've had in a long while, made the way they're supposed to be - a nice bake on the outside, but soft and light on the inside. The folks behind the counter get up at 4 am each day to make the baked goods, and they definitely put a lot of love into their baking. They also have great breakfast burritos for when you're hungry for some eggs but don't want a huge breakfast. The coffee is from a local roastery - strong and well-balanced, perfect to go along with whatever you've chosen out of the pastry case. An added bonus if you're visiting from the east coast, like me - they open at 7 am, perfect! The wonderful women from Mexico, who own this café, and who cook all the food have a secret ingredient.. The other ingredients include things like pineapple in scones. Yum !! Apricot filling in pastries. They use fresh vegetables in the assorted other wraps and soups. Their intention is to offer very healthy food and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.(just an arm.). Tucked neatly in the corner of the shopping center by Bodega Highway, this fantastic, homely eatery sits unsuspecting and modest from the glancing eye. What a wonderful surprise to find they not only have excellent smoothies of a vast selection, but also have a coup de grace of the most fluffy, buttery, succulent scones I have ever tried. At $3.50 a pop and hitting hard with crispy outsides, fluffy insides, and glorious fruit filling, my baseline perception for scones has been forever altered. They've taken a sledgehammer to the idea of dry, flavorless store bought "scones" that I'd had at work parties. Immaculate craftsmanship and I've only just begun regular patronage there. I have lived in my town for 10+ years and recently decided To give this a try and WOW am I happy. CLEAN, FRESH, very friendly staff and GREAT SCONES. They also offer a nice variety for lunch or breakfast items. There are a few tables if you want to sit and relax for a few minutes. They carry local brands of coffee like Taylot Maid Farms and truly this is better than the chain coffee pastry spots. I am looking forward to trying a wrap or a rice bowl but in the meantime the BLACKBERRY SCONE that is always WARM has won me over! Atmosphere/Ambiance: 3/5 It's small, maybe six tables indoors and two outside. The music is usually some generic pop station which is unfortunate. That said, everything is very, very, clean. Big drawback: the wifi is iffy (at best). They do not have their own wifi, you have to get it from the laundromat next door which is doable but not always working. And if it isn't working, you're screwed because no one works at the laundromat. Kitchen: 5/5 They serve Taylor Maid coffee and it is prepared well. But the real highlight here is their pastries which they make fresh each day and their odd but tasty selection of spring rolls, salads, and rice plates. In regards to the pastries, the blueberry scones are fantastic and if you can get them while they're still hot, you win. The spring rolls are a personal favorite - every flavor is present and nothing is ever overcooked. Service: 5/5 The woman who I see there most may be the nicest woman on the planet. But her aside, all the people there are genuine and kind, service is quick and efficient, and everything is super clean. Conclusion: It really deserves five stars because it's probably the best cafe in Sebastopol but it only get four because of the wifi issue. oh how I want to give you five stars Westside Cafe, but I couldn't! Those spring rolls aren't rolled correctly! I live in hippie town, that's really what comes to mind when I think about how many vegetarians there are in Sebastopol. This place is great for vegetarians I hear, from their tofu curry wrap to their spring rolls, it's like a vegetarian heaven (as opposed to San Jose where all vegetarian spots are rare to find). Now, nothing's wrong with being vegetarian heck, I prefer some tofu instead of meat when I want to avoid being gassy, but even though their food is great for the tummy, I just can't stand how their spring rolls are rolled. I like my spring rolls rolled like Cuban cigars: clean and tight. I have a problem with their wraps also. They just leak juices all over their place. Their spring rolls, split apart the instant you bite into them. I complained to my friends "they don't roll their burritos or spring rolls tight enough!" "you do realize it's called a wrap, not a burrito." Fine. So it's meant to leak, but that doesn't excuse the spring rolls falling apart! I've eaten here a few times to say that I like their prices. Their numbers are perfect for even change. No messy pennies typically come through as part of the transaction. That's at least a plus. But what really brought me to write a review wasn't their wraps or their spring rolls, but actually their noodle bowl. Chicken Noodle bowl. Here's why: When I go to a Vietnamese restaurant I don't order the Pho, I order the "bun". the "bun" or "rice noodles" (which is what Americans like to call) can be ordered as "bun thit nuong" which is bbq pork with noodles and some vinegar liquid (nuooc mam) that goes over the noodles. It's not a soup. it's noodles. The nuoc mam is made of white vinegar, fish sauce, and sugar. I forgot the portions. Anyway I'm moving off topic... I typically order the "bun thit nuong" when I don't feel like sweating it out at the restaurant over a bowl of pho. Westside Cafe's noodle bowl is the closest I've found to it (but for cheap and for to go in a pinch). Anyway that's all I wanted to say. Four stars for the noodle bowl that's like "bun thit nuong" but they lose a star for their poorly wrapped spring rolls and burritos. Sorry, I mean wraps. read more

Sebastopol hasn't had a great, easy, casual brunch place in so long that I hardly believed it when I stepped into this little, out of the way joint. So lovely! With a diverse menu and wide selection, it was hard to choose between eating a full meal or selecting a couple of their sizable, fresh homemade pastries and a coffee. I opted for a breakfast burrito with egg and sausage and a very delicious, flavorful homemade salsa with the right amount of heat. The folks who came with me had the vegan Thai wraps with fresh dipping sauce (YUM) and a stir fry rice plate with fresh veggies and egg (not as flavorful as I had hoped but I'd just had that salsa, so...). On my way out I decided to get a blueberry muffin and was very happy I did: dense, cakey texture with fat, sweet berries and a buttery top. EXTRA YUM! The staff is friendly and accommodating, as well, and make an extra effort with the small stuff. BONUSES: free wifi from the launderette next door; coffee and tea is local (Taylor Maid).
