    Breakfast burrito $11
    Shardai L.

The playground is so cute for kids under 5. My 7 year old got bored. I ordered the breakfast burrito, coffee cake and chocolate croissant. The burrito was cold. The eggs were yummy but the potatoes i think had been cooked a dofferent day and reheated. Reheated potatoes jusy dont taste good and the cheese wasnt melted so they just tossed shredded cheese. Maybe next time stick the burrito in an airfryer till cheese is melted.

This was a most pleasant outing I had recently in our sweet town. The menu has decent offerings, the outdoor picnic tables are clean and the guys working the counter are friendly. I ordered a chicken melt and my sandwich was delish! I met a new friend who chose to sit at my table to eat her salmon rolls. We shared our love for Sebastopol and our new find at The Playground. It was a sweet afternoon.

Burger with fries. Burger tasted great and it felt like a homemade meal in the middle of a picnic area. Good food. Greta vibe.

Burger with fries. Food tastes homemade in a great vibe picnic area. Like how your parents made burgers on the stove with love.

This is the ideal spot for kids and dogs! Food was very good, fresh and healthy. Something for everyone. We basked in the sun at the mud kitchen while the kiddos played, dogs sniffed and we sipped kombucha. Dreamy. Would highly recommend! Every town needs one.

I had the luxury of spending 90 mins at Playground Cafe with my kids this morning and I can't get over how incredible this place is.

I appreciated that the matcha was hand whisked instead of just quickly mixed together, which made it feel much more intentional and thoughtfully prepared. The latte itself was not overly sweet, although I personally would have liked a slightly stronger matcha flavor. Still, it was a great drink to walk around with while exploring the local shops and community around The Barlow. Between the atmosphere, the people, and the location, it's an easy place to keep coming back to whenever I'm in Sebastopol.

The woman helping me had dark hair, glasses, and beautiful tattoos down her arm. I ordered the sandwich and was asked whether I wanted a bagel or sliced bread. I asked about the croissant, and she told me they were out. I said that sliced bread would be fine. When I noticed I was being charged an additional $1.50 for the bread, I politely asked why there was an upcharge. Her response was, "Because we're out of croissants." I asked what the substitute was, and she looked at me and said, "Nothing." At that point, I simply said okay and accepted the bread. She then asked a young man behind her to take over, and he was very polite and finished ringing me up. A few minutes later, I could hear the woman in the back ranting to the staff, and she eventually disappeared into the back. I understand that everyone can have a bad day, and I certainly don't expect perfection. However, as a longtime business owner myself, I know how important it is to treat customers with courtesy and professionalism--even when you're having a difficult day. This interaction was completely unnecessary. I wasn't rude or demanding; I simply asked a reasonable question about a charge. I hope management takes this as an opportunity to remind staff that how you treat customers matters just as much as the product you're selling.

It's challenging to pick my favorites--the sandwiches and desserts were amazing. Mom chose the Chocolate Raspberry Mint tea and I had the Decaf Ceylon--unlimited pots of tea! They give you a box of all the tea choices so you sample the fragrance before you order. Note that they are vegan. If you'd like gluten-free, just note it on the reservation. The staff is so sweet and attentive. They actually anticipated our every wish. Lots of activity as the cheery staff buzzed around us patrons. They gave us each a packet of wildflower seeds. There are three choices for your table: indoors, the verandah, and in front of the house in the garden. It's decorated like a fairy tale. And so many teapots, decorative animals, and gifts. Truly a lovely experience.

Super cute, mismatched floral china, knickknacks everywhere, gorgeous flowers in the garden. We are on the terrace, which was lovely. The only drawback is that it's right on Main Street with a lot of traffic going by. The food was so good. We started with salad of the adults and crudite with homemade ranch with just a twang of spice to start. Then they brought out 3 tiered tea cake stands for each of us - a kids size, a regular, and a gluten free one. Everything was so delicious. A plate of 5 savory treats, each one more sumptuous than the next. A plate with a perfect scone with a tiny raspberry jam container, lemon curd, and clotted cream (my fav). Last tier had dessert, a chocolate cake with raspberry on top, a shortbread with white chocolate, and fruit. The shortbread cookie was the item I liked the least. They bring you a tea case so you can smell every option. We had grandma's garden, mint, and maple . All tasty. I wish we could have tried even more but they did refill each adorable teapot with more hot water. The price is quite high but it was a lovely way to celebrate. Will definitely come back again. Oh and they do takeout of treats so if you are nearby you can just come in for those.

Sarmentine is located in The Barlow in a premium corner location. Easy and free parking nearby. They offer phenomenal pastries and coffee beverages. I tried some of the day-old pastries as well as a selection of fresh stuff such as the pain suisse, canele, and some others. Everything was amazing- even the day-olds. I also thought the pricing here was reasonable for great pastries. I have paid much more than what I paid at Sarmentine for less scrumptious pastries. The staff who helped me out were kind, and they offered some great recommendations as to what I should order. The inside/outside dining space is a great touch, and they have a great kids' area right outside as part of The Barlow. Worth the visit!

I ordered an almond milk latte but was initially given regular milk. They remade it, though they seemed annoyed about the mistake. After spending over $40 and getting back to my car, I realized the remake was just steamed almond milk with no espresso at all. For a bakery with such a strong reputation and premium prices, I'd expect a little more attention to detail and a better customer experience.
