We came birding here recently and saw a hawk and woodpecker perched up in a tree. They also had sheep and goat grazing in a temporary fenced-off area to keep the dry grass down. I love this eco-friendly method of managing vegetation. There were about a dozen dogs happily playing in the dog park when I was there. It was fun to watch how they interact with each other. There were a few growls but responsible dog parents were there to quickly call their dogs back. There are several picnic tables sprinkled throughout the park. You can reserve areas for special events. I have attended a wedding and a friend hosted a retirement party here. The Gravenstein Apple Fair has been held at this location for many decades as well. There are a few parking lots to choose from. You can park inside the park for free if you are a Sonoma County Regional Park member. Annual pass is currently $69. Seniors get a discounted rate.

Ragle Ranch Regional Park is an amazing local park. There are bicycle trails, hiking trails and people take horses there too. Benches along the way let a person sit and enjoy the beauty. Out on the trails it's hard to believe you are within walking distance of downtown. There are also baseball, softball, soccer and volleyball. It is also home to the premier public tennis facility in West County, the Ragle Ranch Tennis courts were built with private donations and have been maintained by dedicated volunteers for the past 30 years without taxpayer funds. It has one of the few practice walls in West County and a porta potty nearby.

I've been in Santa Rosa but never been to this park . Honestly it's a beautiful place . I went on a drive having my eyes set on my usual park until I drove by Julliard park. I will say finding parking was a bit of a maze since I accidentally entered a neighborhood. But once I did find parking, I decided to walk through the park and was amazed of how nice and tranquil it is. Beautiful benches with artwork on them. I couldn't help but stop and look at them all. The grass was nice and green and ready for my dog and I to trek. There's also a bocce ball court for anyone that loves to play bocce ball! There was a nice little bridge I walked on that had a great view of the park as well. I walked the whole park and it was a great workout. I proceeded to walk the rest of art district and found an alley that had a mural within it and it was beautiful. I haven't walked here and taken time to come to this part of Santa Rosa, but it definitely won't be the last time I come through to check it out.

As the trees are concerned, one is closer to the picnic tables and the others are near the newer set which allows for parents to sit and enjoy cooler air - also metal benches close by. We nicknamed it the tree house playground as the major structure looks like it, made of newer plastics and some metal/rope. Both areas of play have bark-chips. Occasionally there've been older kids, but never caused any problems for my kids who are younger than 7 year old. The older set is mostly wood and metal, providing the only swings in the equipment for smaller children, my kids have sighted some bees but doesn't appear problematic to their play. Also there is two benches for oversight. It is important to know there aren't bathrooms here (closest are just a bit away at the end of wiseman airport park) or drinking fountains which both reduce the expended stay feature unlike some other playgrounds in Petaluma. It is also positioned near Garfield which isn't too busy but without a gate, wondering children may be at risk.

This park is not too far from Cotati and Rohnert Park, but it feels like you are far away amongst the vineyards and farms. Parts of the trail have great views. There is a decent size parking lot with a $7 fee. Trail maps near the parking lot direct you where to walk and sign posts on the trails keep you from getting lost. It's not humongous so we walked for less than an hour, only about 2 miles, but the trails were well maintained as mostly gravel, hard packed dirt, or grass. There is also a very popular disc golf course here. Dog friendly, on leash. Pit toilets. No sink or hand sanitizer.
