The playground side is adjacent to a road frequented by the cars in the neighborhood or visiting families. Currently there is leaking water faucet which causes some standing water

Located at the downtown along perimeter intersection streets of Petaluma Blvd South, E St., 4th St. & D St. It was a nice walk after breakfast from Sax's Joint Restaurant. My granddaughter enjoyed the nice playground set with slides and swings. There are picnic tables and a nice open grassy area. Restrooms are conveniently accessible. There are park benches and a covered gazebo landscaped with roses. Dogs allowed here!

All the dogs were super friendly as were the people. Now the negative,the place is covered in weeds,it looked like its been mowed or eaten down to the dirt. I as afraid that there might be ticks or fleas in the weeds,(I checked before we left and didn't find anything). Although nobody at the park seemed to mind the weeds. We declined, and although he walked away, he remained nearby in another part of the park. Later, there was a group that looked like a family but were all drinking alcohol. Two of their associates approached my friends and me, telling us to be quiet while brandishing a weapon. Since my friends are men, they turned to face them, and the individuals eventually left. Later on, another woman who also was under the influence kept following us with her gaze. It was a very unsafe experience

This is a nice large open space. A few cement cylinders if jumping up on or going through tunnels is a thing your dog likes. On our visit all the dogs and humans were friendly. Our dog is in the smaller side, 15 lb and 4 years old. There were larger and smaller, older and younger. Rocky's guardians did right by their beloved pet!! (Ok. I'm assuming Rocky was a dog.). I've only had one problem there which was 2 Pitt bulls that were loose and seemed aggressive. My neighbors are always warning me not to go to this park but like I said it's a great place to walk my dog and again very pretty. We were told by a local congressman who came to one of out HOA meetings that they will be putting in a dog park there. So far it hasn't happened

Needs improvement: Existing fence is a bit short for larger dogs or pups with hops. One of the entrances isn't a double door system, so pups might get out. Despite the sign, there was lots of dog poop left by previous visitors - can tell the locals don't care for their park. Benches too close to the fence, easy for untrained pup to escape. Needs more grass and some weeding. Too small for long sprint fetch. Semi sketchy neighborhood. Kiosk signs need to be updated. Needs permanent garbage cans, oddly had residential style ones.

Our dog died after visiting this dog park we believe she was either poisoned or ate something toxic…read morethat killed jet. We were driving from Humboldt county to Monterey and stopped there so Kix could stretch her legs and pee. She had been super healthy and happy all week. After stopping here she seemed weak and disoriented. Had trouble walking. Started vomiting, peeing herself and refused to eat but kept trying to drink water. As we drove her to a 24 hr vet she died. There were a lot of homeless around. The vet said she was either poisoned or ate some drugs left on the ground. Stay away!
