I was in Santa Rosa for the day and wanted to stretch my legs and enjoy some nature. After visiting the Luther Burbank gardens across the street, I noticed the blossoming trees of Julliard Park. I found it to be a well kept urban park with a few sculptures, water features, grassy lawns and even a few redwoods. On a Saturday afternoon, the park had a mix of walkers, families, and individuals lounging on the grass and reading. I had read other reviews about unsafe elements but I didn't see or experience any of that. Just local folks enjoying a park on a sunny day. Very clean and I easily found parking. Nice place to bring a picnic, read a book or take a stroll.

Popped by here to spend some time before heading to Spinster Sisters nearby. Plenty of street parking on the West side There's a lot of green grass and open fields with some small creeks. There is a very small playground that I wished had more play structures. Overall, an okay park if you want a picnic or a casual stroll, but not too much to do if you have little ones.

A nice sized park near downtown with quite a bit of shade, a walking trail, water pond, playground, plenty of benches for seating, a garden, a large sculpture and bocce ball courts. I had a break in between meetings for work and decided to stop by for a nature break instead of going to a coffee shop for caffeine. There are a few homeless but seemed harmless. I saw some women doing tai chi and quite a few folks hanging out on the dispersed benches all around the park, must have been 15-20 benches so enough to not share! There are sunflowers and roses as well as mature shade trees. A great location for a break when downtown if you are looking for a nature scene.

Absolutely love this park! My client chose this park for their teen daughters picnic and it was lovely. This park has plenty of shade, a great playground and a big g lawn area. We set up our clients picnic near a small pond and it was great to have close vehicle access. The only reason I am not giving five stars is because there are no bathrooms (or if there are we couldn't find them). To see more pics/videos of this picnic please see our IG at Picnic.Potential

A relaxing park in the middle of downtown Santa Rosa. I go here often when visiting. I am originally from the area and used to have family who lived right on South A Street so have memories of the area. The place has always had its mix of suspect people hanging around but that's just part of being in downtown Santa Rosa. There has been an increase in homeless but with this economy it isn't surprising. Still a nice little sanctuary in the middle of a mid-sized city.

    Nice place to walk pups!!

Beautiful park, not too small, not too big with plenty of shady and sunny spots. There is a lazy koi lake with a bridge, rose garden and art. It's a lovely place for photo sessions, picnic or family outings. The pups loved it and after their wall decided to enjoy a shady spot under the trees. It was clean, we saw one homeless person who just passed by the park and there was plenty room to social distance.

A nice small quiet park. Nice water features and plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the weather and sunshine. There were ducks, art installations, and playground. Lots of vagrants. The bathroom was disgusting.

So peaceful with gorgeous trees throughout. Nice mix of sun and shade. Very clean.

This park is really beautiful. It has a lovely old style bridge leading up to the entrance, with Lush trees everywhere and a beautiful rose garden and community garden in the back.

I brought a group of kids aged 12-11-10-9-8 and they enjoyed checking out the trees and dry creek bed. The structures are for 2-8 ages, but my Tweens managed to play there for a few minutes. A good park for a 30 minutes stop. Also seems like it would be a great place to picnic. Homeless count = 8 peoe this Sunday morning.

This park is such a beautiful park to come and have a picnic lunch at or even just hang out with the kids. The reason I gave this 3 stars is because there is constantly homeless people as well as people you wouldn't trust your 12 year old daughter to be around. I would like to see this park managed with random bicycle safety officers riding through to ensure safety of children. They have music on Sundays during the summer which is always great to go to as well as I was engaged here two years ago sitting on a park bench having coffee with my now husband. with him I come to have a picnic lunch as often as I can, I don't know if I would do that with a girlfriend or not and certainly not by myself.

Pretty nice and relaxing stroll/jog with a water feature if one doesn't want anything too strenuous…read morewith incline. It is basically several trails that go around a reservoir (Spring Lake). The circumference of the lake is about a 2 mile flat loop. Upon entering the park felt very bizarre. You leave a nice neighborhood with nice homes then in a blink of an eye, you are surrounded by bare trees covered in moss surrounded by tons of small flat boulders. It was so bare and quiet that it felt like this portion of the earth had died. Very bizarre. You'll eventually find the parking lots which all connect together in some form. There's an $8 fee here. You can't see the lake from much of the parking lot, maybe in a few spots like where a boat ramp might be. I had to use a map in my hiking app to find which direction the lake was at. Once at the lake there are pretty much 2 trails that go around the same lake. 1 is at lake level and is a dirt trail. So it has a more hiking feel as the trail is rough with lots of heavy brush on the sides. Even tho lake level you'll only get a glimpse of the lake in only a few spots. That's because the brush is so thick and over grown that it'll block views to the water since you are at lake level. The second trail is a paved trail that is above lake level, so from most spots you are looking down on the lake. This is the trail to take if you want to take pics or just admire the water views. Also the trail to take if you want to bike or jog as it is a wider and smoother trail than the dirt one at lake level. I saw a separate swimming lagoon on one of the corners. It wasn't in operation in October when I went but looks like it could be a popular spot during the warm summer Santa Rosa months. This area of the lake is also the most landscaped as I saw lawn areas with picnic benches and nicer trees alongside the lake, even some very pretty small redwoods. I enjoyed my views most on this side of the lake. You can also add length to your route by connecting this loop with other trails. There's even a loop that connects this loop that goes to another smaller lake, which would make your route now closer to 4 miles. Nice spot may even have to bring a group here someday for a picnic day if ever back in the area.

These are the hills above Santa Rosa so basically above the sprawl of suburban track homes. I had to actually weave through the streets of several neighborhoods to reach their staging/parking area. There's a parking fee of $8 that's payable through a kiosk. It seemed a bit much for a 1-2 hour hike, so I used the ticket for another Santa Rosa park that also charges. Not sure if it were good for both places but that's what I did on a slow weekday. And I got to see 2 places. The terrain is mostly dry grass pasture-land. I didn't see any cattle but there are signs pointing out how to deal with them if encountered. For an October hike I also didn't see any evidence of cattle activity aka 'cow patties'. So not sure how often cattle gets to roam here. The dry grass from the previous summer was quite full. Did a 3 mile loop (East and West Trails) that went up about 600 feet n elevation gain. About a 30-40 min climb so definitely got the circulation going. No switchbacks pretty much a gradual straight climb, maybe steep and tough on one stretch. Terrain not incredibly pretty as it is mostly dry grass with a very rocky trail. I did like the majestic large oak trees that tower over some parts of the trails. Some of the biggest oak trees I've seen, easily over 200 years old. The view up top is nice and refreshing but it is just a view of already mentioned suburban Santa Rosa, not really a stop and admire view. But I got a nice morning workout in, even on a very grey day with drizzle. 3 utilitarian stars.
