Beautiful buffet set up!
Tracy G.

A La Heart catered my wedding on April 25, 2015 and they did such an incredible job. I was definitely a type B bride and didn't give them a ton of direction and I was blown away with how great everything went. The day was absolutely perfect. The food was amazing and the servers were all so kind to me and my guests. It was such a special day for us and they made me feel like they were also invested and not just going through the motions. Planning a wedding is extremely hard and stressful and I couldn't have pulled it off without their help. Having caterers who order the rentals and provide a day of coordinator (THANKS SARA!!) made a huge difference.

Can't get enough of the delicious dessert bar!

We couldn't have asked for a better catering team for our wedding this April! Wow! Mariana and Cinnamon were an absolute dream to work with - they're more than wonderful caterers, they're practically event planners. Not only did they help us pick a delicious menu that would suit our guests and budget, they truly understood our 'vision' for the event and helped us set everything up so it flowed perfectly. Cinnamon even personally checked on our guests with food allergies and our vegetarians during the evening to make sure they'd found the alternative options. And she pointed this hungry bride to the leftovers after the party had ended, so we could taste everything we'd missed while enjoying the reception! I'd recommend A La Heart over and over again!

Mariana went above and beyond, as I did not have a wedding planner, she also helped me find a local florist.

Service? 5/5. We spent the entire time talking to the owner Sean as he cooked for us. Sean is truly made for hospitality... he's extremely warm/friendly and made us feel right at home. He even gave us two complimentary dishes -- the zhong dumplings & chicken congee set! SO generous. If we lived in the neighborhood, this would certainly be a regular spot for us. Food? 4/5. Love the menu, which is essentially a collection of some of my childhood favorites. The dishes are also all very homey, albeit a bit more fusion/creative than traditional. We had the below items: Hong Kong Claypot Rice du Jour (with chicken & lapcheong) - they nailed the crispy rice at the bottom!! While it wasn't the most fragrant claypot rice I've had (the lapcheong is store bought vs. home-cured, which makes a big difference), the savory/sweet sauce and the rice texture certainly hit the spot. Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice - I loved the ridiculously tender braised pork! The sauce was also very flavorful, although it was a bit sweeter than the typical lu rou fan in Taiwan. However, my husband absolutely loved this dish. Smashed Cucumbers - So refreshing and addicting. We couldn't stop eating one bite after another. It was a great appetizer and opened up our appetites. Zhong Dumplings - The sauce on these dumplings are indescribably delicious. Spicy, sweet, and oh-so-fragrant... we crushed every drop of it. Chicken Congee Set - This reminded me of my mom's congee! Loved that it's served with a side of rou sung (pork floss), zha cai (picked veggies), and fu ru (fermented bean curd)... just the way I like it! All in all, we loved our meal & will certainly be back the next time we're in wine country!

First visit had the black cod and Taiwanese beef soup - chef made a small mistake but quickly made up for it. I just visited Taiwan and loved the resemblance! Subsequent visits have been more Takeout orders. Eggplant and dumplings never disappoint. Owners are super friendly. Vibe is chill and family friendly. Feels like being in a small ramen shop in Japan. Love it all and highly recommend.

The donuts were an interesting take, not my favorite, but I liked the adventure. The broccolini was delightful. And the chicken was outstanding. Half of some of the moistest chicken with polenta and salad along with the chicken-ju was stunning. Our server Abraham handled all our questions and explained the details of each dish as they were served. While expensive, this was very well worth the experience and flavor.

Lunch is tasty -- provided your culinary interests fall into one of two highly curated categories: fried chicken burger or beef burger. Pescatarian options include a Caesar salad stripped of anchovies and truffle fries stripped of truffle. Broccolini and guacamole also appear on the menu -- aspirationally, at least, since both were "unavailable" during our visit. (Pro tip: order multiple side salads with avocado and assemble your own guac tableside.) Outdoor dining is gracious in the sense that if you'd like shade from the blazing sun, staff will warmly invite you to drag over an umbrella stand yourself. Service offers an added adventure. For the full price of a wine-country meal, you get to pour your own wine -- fulfilling the fantasy of anyone who's ever wanted to role play as both diner and server. And when you're finally ready to pay, prepare for a fun scavenger hunt of locating an attendant and accompanying them on a pilgrimage to a POS system hidden near one of the mystery doors.

Matt and Patrick were extremely friendly and the food was to die for! We celebrated our microwedding in Mill Valley and I have always selected new restaurants based on yelps top reviewed restaurants. I figured this would be the best way to go to select a catering option for an area we're not local to or able to try before in person. The reviews did not steer us wrong. We would love to book again after experiencing the food and stellar service. Appetizers: We ordered the heirloom tomato bruschetta which was one of my favorites! The tomatoes were fresh and every bite was memorable! The goat cheese croquettes were to die for and the braised pork shoulder had everyone coming back for more! Dinner: I'm not a huge kale person but we had an amazing kale Caesar salad that had me hoping I could recreate it at home. I honestly don't think there was any left over! It was accompanied by the grilled antipasto platter which complemented the lasagna dinner we had perfectly! The vegetables were cooked and seasoned to perfection! We had the classic bolognese lasagna and red wine braised boneless beef short ribs for our dinner option which were gone in the blink of an eye. Dessert: To top it off, we finished with the mini amaretto panna cotta and blackberry coulis. They were as delicious as they were aesthetically appealing!

My husband and I were set on having pupusas for our wedding, and it was a surprisingly difficult thing to accomplish. From all of our efforts and research, pupuserias don't really do wedding catering, and wedding caterers don't really do pupusas, but Chef Matt pulled it off for us on a whole nother level of excellence! When we originally reached out to him, he just said that they could do it, and we were ecstatic. At our first tasting, he had already gone to his local pupusa spot to analyze the timing, and watch the whole process. He hadn't done pupusas before, but had the drive, determination, and confidence to pull it off for us. When our wedding day came, we along with every one of our guests were absolutely blown away by the quality of every bit of food and drinks that they provided us all with. He was able to find the wife of a Salvadoran friend, and her mother, to help him make them all fresh on our wedding day, on a plancha that they were able to bring. The vibe was incredible, the food was impeccable, and even the Salvadorans attending were incredibly impressed. From the yucca fries to the plantain chips, from the guacamole to the curtido, from the coffee to the agua frescas, from the salsas to the amazing service, from the compostable serving ware to the incredible bartender. People still can't stop raving. The pupusas, the dips, the black chili salsa, the coffee, just everything. Kharma worked with us relentlessly over every tiny detail to get all of it right, and everything came together SO beautifully, and went SO smoothly without even the smallest hitch. Chef Matt and the Epicurean Escape Catering team literally made our dreams come true. We cannot recommend them enough!!!
