He told us the "specials of the day which included a vegetable soup. Leeks, carrots, celery, and bacon." Bacon? That's our kind of vegetable soup! The line was out the door and took a while to get in, but once we made it inside the small space, we were greeted kindly by the staff and treated to great-looking bread and pastries. We picked up a baugette, a seeded loaf, a pluot tea cake, and some chocolate thimbles. The chocolate thimbles are truly amazing, and I would come back to get a thousand of those. They are like the best brownie you've ever had in a little bite-sized delight. The bread was also good- on par with many other small local bakeries I have visited. The pluot cake was very nicely done with great texture and fresh pluot topping. It would have gone great with some vanilla ice cream.
