I never would've thought that I would find it in this very unassuming location. The line was long but fast on a Sunday morning, ordered the Normand brie sandwich and the hubs ordered a couple of pastries to try and his usual almond croissant. All very good and very fresh. Food was served quickly and plenty of seating inside. Very pleasantly surprised to have found this place (sadly, it's 420 mikes away from home) .

This spot…read morehas mastered the balance of traditional technique and a welcoming, community-focused atmosphere that makes it a standout in the North Bay. The craftsmanship here is evident in every loaf and pastry. Their sourdough is a masterclass in texture, boasting that perfect, resilient crust and a complex, airy crumb that captures the essence of classic fermentation. The sweet and savory options are equally impressive, delivered with a warmth that feels authentically local. * **Pastry Excellence:** The ham and cheese croissants are expertly laminated, providing a shatteringly crisp exterior that gives way to a rich, savory center. For those with a sweet tooth, the berry scones are consistently packed with fresh fruit and have a tender, buttery finish. * **Signature Granola:** Beyond the fresh bakes, their granola is a hidden star--perfectly toasted, balanced in sweetness, and ideal for a high-energy morning. * **The Vibe:** Whether you're visiting the Sebastopol Avenue location or catching them at the farmer's market, the service is genuinely personal. The brick-and-mortar space has a cool, industrial-meets-inviting aesthetic that makes it a great destination, even if you're used to grabbing your favorites at Oliver's. Have you had a chance to try any of their seasonal special loaves, or do you tend to stick to the classic sourdough?

Staff greeted me, even if I was the only one there at 8am on a Monday. There were a lot of sweet bakery treats and limited savory ones so I elected to try the quiche which comes with a salad. My Marla chai was warm and comforting, perfect for a chilly Santa Rosa morning. The quiche was soft, moist and flavorful. The salad had chick peas, carrots, butter lettuce, and radish with the perfect seasoning of salt, pepper and a vinaigrette. It was both delicious and refreshing. I will definitely be back next time I am in Santa Rosa.

They have lots of options for food and drinks, but I just came in for some pastries and tea. The service was good and very helpful. I wanted to try the gluten free scone, because I'd heard good things about it. Plus, I had to try the Gateaux Basque, even though gluten is not always good for me. The scone was very good, especially with a cup of tea. I ordered the Love Tea, which is really worth pairing with pastries. It has a lot of warming flavors like cinnamon and cacao. The real star here was the Gateaux Basque. A soft cookie-like dough forms the crust while the center has a vanilla custard and a cherry jam of sorts. It has one of the most pleasing textures and flavors I've had in a cake. It is worth coming here just for this, although I will have to come back and try some of their other foods. I would also note that while the quiche looks really good I couldn't justify paying $15 for a slice of it. I realize it comes with a little side salad, but when I asked if I could get it without the salad they said they couldn't charge me less for it. Oh well. Marla SR is a great addition to this neighborhood! Come check them out!

I quickly studied the menu and decided on the bacon bowl. It had eggs, green chili salsa, home-fried potatoes, seasonal veggies, all served on a bed of lettuce. The flavors were outstanding. Not only was it a good-sized breakfast, but the flavors were just delicious. The veggies were perfectly seasoned and not overcooked. The egg and potatoes were nice, and the overall flavor was just wonderful. I liked this place so much that I ended up coming back on day two of my trip just to eat here again with a friend!
