I enjoy fully the great Lebanese food that I'm served and the graciousness and attention of the host. If you enjoy great foods with excellent taste and spices you will certainly love this place. I never mind paying a little more for great food but if you can't afford it there is always McDonalds. For me the portions are excellent as well as the price and I truly love this place. Great food and service! Our waiter was attentive and helpful. We got the mixed appetizer that consisted of Hummus, Baba Ghanouj, Mouhammara, Labne, And Mousakka. Oh man! AMAZING! I wanted to try something new for lunch and found Bayroot on yelp. I went with the Kafta Kebab with Baba Ghanouj (you could choose between hummus/baba ghanouj)for my lunch combo. The combo also came with a side of salad, rice, pita bread, and a free drink. I also ordered the falafel appetizer. And because I'm a real fatty, I ordered the mix Bayroot Mezza to go- that way I didn't suffer from FOMO too badly. Kicked things off with the falafel served with some tahini sauce. The falafel was piping hot and had a nice, crispy exterior that provided a lil bit of a crunch when I bit into it. I was burning my mouth as I ate it, but I couldn't stop. It was just too good. Probably the best falafel I've ever had. That's not saying much though considering I've only had falafel a handful of times before. All in all, it was really tasty with the tahini sauce. As I finished off the falafel appetizer, I was then served my lunch combo. It was fantastic. I never had baba ghanouj before, but decided to try that. And although I absolutely love hummus, I'm really glad I tried opted for the baba ghanouj. It was probably my favorite part of the meal, and that's not to take anything away from the kafta kebab- that was pretty damn good too. All in all, it was one hell of a lunch and I'm really glad I found this place. The service was outstanding as well. Granted, I was the only person in there at the time since they had only been open for 30 minutes. But they were super friendly and helpful with my order. Had dinner here recently- been a few years since we ate at this restaurant since the start of COVID. We were happy that it was quiet with only a few other people there. Very surprised at the high prices posted on an interesting menu. Quite expensive for what is offered. Kafta Kebab and Shwarma Chicken Platter. If I could give negative stars I would. We ordered a chicken kebab platter with veggies and a lamb kebab platter with rice and veggies. Before I ended the call I told the owner I wanted the chicken kebab with vegetables with rice. What we received was 4-5 pieces of small chicken, super dry and overcooked with veggies and no rice. The lamb also was skimped on. I called the restaurant and told the owner my complaints. Rather than just saying I'm sorry what can we do to make it right? He told me that they use kosher quality chicken and that's why their portions are so small and have always been that way. Mind you two small platters cost $70. He also told me that I never asked for rice and only veggies and that I was wrong. According to him, a customer can be wrong and in this case I am wrong since he's been "working in the industry for years and years" and I never asked for rice...I'm pretty sure I know what I asked for lol. Then he started yelling and raising his voice, cutting me off. All he had to say was listen, this is our usual portion size but we're happy to make you an extra side of rice or a few more pieces of chicken if you want. I told him I won't be coming in again, to which he said that's fine. He just lost a customer over a few bites of rice and chicken during a recession. This is a strong three stars because the owner was super nice and I think will make his place work if given advice. Cute little place in a strip mall. They have a small retail section of Lebanese/Mediterranean grocery items. We purchased some Turkish apricots to take home. We shared 2 apps, 2 small salads, 1 cup of soup and 1 entree for $80! We only had water to drink so felt for the size of the dishes, it was very pricy..and we are used to Manhattan prices! We had...hummus with shawarma beef..tasty hummus, I love lemon, S thought it was too lemony and beef was a tad greasy but tasty, we would have preferred the beef on the side rather than on top of the hummus, didn't think to ask just thought it would come that way. On the small side for the price. Falafel with tahini sauce, had a fishy taste on the outside, like they just fried fish in the same oil? Inside was fluffy and nice, I loved the tahini dipping sauce, S thought it was too garlicky..again the more garlic and lemon for me, the better lol! Came with warm pita. Cup of Tomato Soup was delicious with lots of chick peas in..it wasn't expecting that, think they might want to let people know they are in there, my kids would have hated that surprise lol! Greek Salad..good feta, typical but lots of dried oregano, so if you don't like that you may want to mention if you order. Tabouli Salad was a tiny monkey dish for $8, S mentioned to the owner he was surprised that there was maybe a spoonful of wheat in the whole dish, the rest was parsley (we are used to the other way around) sweet owner said that is how Lebanese prefer it but if you ask they will be happy to make it with more wheat because it's made to order. Again, it was VERY lemony, which I love, but others may find it over powering. Tasted fresh! Shish Taouk, which is marinated chicken medallions served with a garlic sauce. Had grilled yellows squash and rice..menu said choice of potato wedges but the waitress said only other choice was fries? Maybe they were out? Chicken was really nicely cooked, flavorful and juicy..we wished for more!! Garlic sauce was unique, (owner said it was made from egg whites and garlic), I thought it was greek yogurt! I didn't taste the rice but we both thought that $16 was a ridiculous price for six tiny bites of chicken and a few squash slices, it should be at least two skewers, which is what we were expecting when we shared an entree. I ordered a rice pudding to go..it sadly went in the garbage, tasted like it was burnt, it had maybe ten pieces of rice in it mostly custard which I would have been ok with if it wasn't burnt tasting..again, was a tiny potion for $4..see photo, when you dip spoon in, it barely was deep enough to coat the tip of the spoon..sad! Overall we thought the owner was super nice and he really cared about his food so hoping he takes this review to heart that is some amazing chicken and hummus, just really pricey..Good Luck! Definitely would go back. Was greeted warmly by the owner when I entered. He mentioned the lunch special for around 12.00 dollars. I ordered the chicken medallions. It came with salad rice and baba ganoush. Everything tasted clean and delicious. I was definitely stuffed at the end of the meal. I think two more pieces of chicken would have satisfied me more than filling up on rice or pita bread. Looking forward to visiting again and trying other things in the menu. read more

This place was a bit surprising in a bunch of ways. It's in a strip mall and it's a big open, somewhat bright space with rows of tables that make it look and feel more like a coffee shop than a restaurant, but the walls are filled with pictures of Lebanon and a small market with a bunch of Lebanese dry goods. The food was good. I wound up getting one of the big platters with lots of different options to share with two coworkers on the business trip with me. Everything was good, but nothing was stunning. The falafel was a bit dry, which is common but a pet peeve of mine. The chicken was and ground beef were tender and moist though. Just tried this place for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is super clean, warm & inviting. We ordered the CHEESE RKAKAT, & lentel soup as an appetizer, both were awesome ! For lunch we order the Chicken Shawarma special with grilled veggies. Taste, flavor & presentation were all on point ! Healthy food at a decent price. Their food is good, but too highly priced for the kind of venue. It's an eat-in deli atmosphere with "okay" wait staff, and service that you would get at a pizza place. Not a place to take someone on a nice date, but expect to pay a lot. A family of four is not leaving there without spending $120, and that's without dessert or appetizers. Two people and two appetizers will cost you 100+, no dessert, and it's not really a "restaurant" as much as a sit down deli. They need to adjust their pricing, it's not a four or five star restaurant. Won't be going back. read more

We happened to be in the area and were looking for a place to eat dinner and stumbled across this restaurant. The restaurant closes between lunch and dinner. It reopened at 5pm which I thought was a downside. Ordered the hummus for an appetizer. While the hummus was very good, we were only given 1 pita which was served cut in half. Certainly not enough for a full bowl of hummus. When we asked for more, we were given the same amount again. For my main meal, I had the chicken shawarma. It was served with mixed vegetables and rice pilaf. I found the rice to be a little too salty and the chicken was just warm, not hot. read more

I really love Bayroot. I always forget to go there because it's a little out-of-mind. Actually I'd love for them to hire me to get the word out for them. I have ordered their Mediterranean Platter to go a few times to bring to a party as an appy. It's always a HUGE hit and it's so reasonably priced. First of all their pita was bread was pretty much meh and the falafel and baba ganoush apps were ok but here again nothing special. The main dishes were not served together and when they did come were somewhat tepid. Additionally they were not presented well. For example the shish kabob looked nothing like the photos on their menu and the meat sampler for two had a similar taste for everything on the platter. I haven't eaten Lebanese food this good since my childhood friend George's "SIto & Gito" (grandma and grandpa) used to take us on walks to find the perfect grape leaves for stuffing. Then they would let us sit with them in the kitchen to watch and help prepare food that my usual meat and potatoes menu had no equal to. So for me, the aromas and tastes at Bayroot are a trip down memory lane. You may not have been as lucky as I was to have had a "Sito & Gito" in your neighborhood when you were young, but all the same, with a trip to Bayroot, you'll get as close to that experience as you can. As cliche as it sounds, every single bite was as delicious as the last, and the customer service was on point-- even though I think we showed up at a time when they were actually supposed to be closed. I had the the grilled lamb chops which were excellent, slightly salty and a bit well done for my taste but tender and outstanding taste. my wife had the grilled salmon, again excellent. The grilled vegetable accompaniment were nicely done, not over cooked as can happen. the rice as a starch was good and plentiful. We shared the hummus and it was very good. We also shared the fattoush salad which was plentiful and tasty. One minor complaint the menu called for pomegranates seeds and they were noticeably absent. Service was good and ambiance also good. The best food I have had since I was in the Middle East 11 years ago. The hummus, baba ghanouj, mouhammara, labne and mousakka were all amazing (mouhammara my favorite!). The pita that came with it wasn't served warm, was thin, but had a good taste. The Shish Taouk platter was excellent, the grilled vegetables were perfectly charred, and the chicken was extremely flavorful and cooked slightly longer than perfection (which I would choose over under-done!). Some reviews mention that the portion sizes are too small. We thought they were not what we consider "typical American" portion sizes, meaning...they don't give one person enough food for two huge people. They are enough for someone with an appropriate appetite. We left very satisfied. While the food isn't cheap, and the portion sizes could be a bit bigger, we were comfortable paying a bit more for higher quality food. We got the muhallabieh (milk pudding) for dessert which tasted homemade and my wife and I both loved it. We had never had it before and both fell instantly in love. This was one of the best meals I have had in years and we plan to go back again soon. Maher, who I *think* was the owner/chef came out to talk with us twice. We had a great conversation about Lebanese food. The wait staff were friendly and helpful. The setting inside was informal but not low-class. The lights hanging from above made it feel like you were outside, which was cool. I really don't have any negative feedback. The only thing I can think of is that I hope they are able to get some tables outside on the patio in front.
