We were looking for a quick dinner and stumbled upon this place last night (03/13) during our visit to NJ and were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food! We ordered the K8 plate. The chicken and lamb were both succulent and delicious, the rice was flavorful and seasoned well, the side salad had a hint of grape leaves and complimented the meal perfectly. It also came with a yogurt sauce and hot sauce; the hot sauce was not overtly spicy but had some heat as an aftertaste which I personally loved. The place is not too fancy, and the meal was served in disposable containers. But the staff were friendly and helpful and the place was clean overall. Would I return/recommend? Absolutely! If we're ever back in this area, I would come again for a quick meal.

Dog food served as a dish. This was a disgrace to afghan food and the food and fries looked like they were microwaved. When I bit into them they were stale. I was going to say something and realized that they won't refund overpriced food especially in the disgusting hot sweaty flies roaming around in this area. If you like your money and your colon, don't come here.

First time. Both had a platter and took it home. Meat was tasty and the sauces very good. The rice we didn't like all that much as a bit oily or greasy. Will try just sandwiches next time. Food was ready quickly.

    Traditional Gyro Sandwich

Just got my lunch delivery-- 5 Stars to Flame Kabob and a high five to Noah S. who was our Door Dash driver - he's super cool!! I ordered the traditional gyro sandwich, side of hummus, shepherds salad and extra tzatziki sauce. Hummus is really good, in fact- I'm shoving it into my mouth now with the pita bread that came with it- I think I should have ordered more pita. Shepherds salad is tasty, it was missing tomatoes- which I thought there would be more of -for me I like more Oil and lemon juice, luckily I have oil and vinegar here in my handy -dandy -hidden desk drawer and lemons for my water in the fridge-a little dash was all it took- I would definitely would order this again, it was refreshing. The gyro was very very tasty and well put together, not to mention heavy, the sauce was complimentary to the sandwich. I have to say that Flame Kabob House has been added to my lunch list of places to order from!! Give this local spot a shot, good food, great service.

Chicken and lamb tika with rice was amazing. Falafel was also excellent as it was nice and moist. Afghani owners are super friendly and hospitable. Will definitely return when back in the area.

    Chicken kebab very good!

I did take out here yesterday as I was in the area, and I enjoy eating Afghan food. I ordered the chicken shish kebab dinner, and it was very good! They gave me a generous portion for a very reasonable price. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender. It also came with homemade pita bread and Afghan sauces that were delicious! The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I thought the Afghan rice was more Americanized. It was good, but it didn't have the Afghan flavor versus other places I go too. I recommend Flame Kebab in Neptune Township!

Sorry, I was hungry - this photo was an afterthought

Pretty darn good! I had the gyro platter and it was enough for 2 people - the rice and salad was fish and delicious, the meat was tasty/flavorful and the taziki sauce was delicious. I also ordered hummus which was ok, I thought I would have had more than one pita bread but oh well. Overall a great meal. I'll be back!

Simply amazing. I ordered a gyro combo platter and a side of hummus. It was SOOOO PERFECT and cured my NYC-Gyro craving. The rice was perfect. The seasoning was perfect. The meat was perfect. The white sauce was perfect. I will absolutely come here again when in town.

It's basically the best of both worlds, its a linguine with garlic, creamy Alfredo, amd shaved parm, but topped with Afghan chicken kabob. The chicken was so tender and perfectly seasoned. I am SO glad we found Setaara, we'd originally tried to grab a quick burger at a hotel restaurant after a work event, but we were completely ignored there, so we just walked out and walked down the street looking for something open. The whole vibe was great, and our meals were absolutely incredible. I bookmarked the spot to come back to, and within the week, I came back and ordered takeout for the dish most fellow reviewers raved about -- the Uzbeki Qabuli Pulao. When I got home and opened the bag, I was pleasantly surprised to find a small side salad and the dish I recognised from a visit to another nearby restaurant specialising in Uzbeki food -- the plov! The rice was really well seasoned and the lamb shank was so tender it fell off the bone. Everything was really flavourful and well balanced, even for take-out. Unlike the other place, this plov was still sweet without being cloyingly so. For some reason it has been awhile since my daughter suggested Royal Grill 37 and I didn't know why but there are lots of options for take-out in the area but I was going to be in the area by myself and I wanted something good to eat so I called Royal Grill 37 and ordered my favorite. Didnt partake in $25 valet parking but was sorely tempted. The indoors are beautiful, white walls and pretty decorations, large bar. Service: Terrific. 5 stars. Julia was awesome, helpful and honest. I did tell her I cant eat spicy stuff although I enjoy lightly spicy stuff. Drinks: I tried the Lebanese red wine. Very nice medium body. My husband tried the old fashioned which he said were good. Starters: we had the salatim which is 6 different dips and two piping hot large pita breads. I liked 4 out of 6 dips while hubby liked 5 out of 6. We both loved the hummus, salad, lima bean, and eggplant ones. This kind of eating is always fun. The discovery! STAR: The star is the halloumi. Fried cheese with lightly sweet crispy crust honeyed and topped with a light refreshing salad and pomenegrate seeds. Our server charmingly apologized she forgot to warn me about the codfish chili being potentially hot but I ended up trying and enjoying it, although I felt the fish was slightly overcooked. Not rubbery but a little too crusty and not flaky enough. I did not complain though because her dessert recommendation for malabi, a custard with oat crisps, was lovely. Nice to share with hubby and cap off the night. Temperature control: we sat somewhat near the front so were hit with cold air anytime someone entered. My husband is recovering from back surgery so walking was difficult for him. I appreciate he planned such a nice outing for us despite his walking challenges.
