Pad se ew
Jim T.

Food was pretty good. We got pad se ew with chicken and pad thai with tofu. The noodles were very good but my wife did not like the tofu. Overall, it was just missing a little something but still worth a try.

Green curry (takeout)

I ordered takeout via GrubHub from Spice Thai Bistro. The delivery was swift and the food arrived hot and delicious. I had the papaya salad and green curry. Loved both. I cannot speak to service and ambiance as I didn't go in, but after having this order, I definitely will try eating in as well!

Green curry with pork

Food is outstanding. Try the green curry. I had light spice and my nose was still running. Service is very friendly and atmosphere is quiet. Nice to read while eating. When is Red Bank be sure to stop in and try Spice Thai Bistro.

Pad See Ew (with shrimp)

I tried another Thai Restaurant when visiting Jersey before but it didn't leave much of an impression so I left no review. Stumbled on Spicy Thai Bistro and ordering my go to dish (pad see ew) which did not disappoint. A very casual eatery, no need for reservations. Opted for the shrimp in my order and devoured the entire meal even though the plan was to leave left overs for tomorrow....so much for that idea lol. You can opt for chicken, beef, duck, vegetarian, tofu, etc. in this dish. I look forward to working my way through the menu and can't wait to order the Tom Yum Soup which my favorite Thai soup. Having travelled to Thailand and ordered the same dish when visiting abroad I was pleasantly surprised that this order was just as good. The brown sauce was lovely and aromatic, shrimp cooked to perfection while the Asian broccoli was perfectly al dente. It's no wonder why Spicy Thai has a 4.9 rating......I give it a 5.0 based on my meal.

Ginger Honey Crispy Duck

The massaman curry was amazing. The beef was tender and the sauce was light and buttery. It was my favorite dish we had here. The steamed chicken dumplings were good as well. We enjoyed crispy duck but wished there was a little less ginger chunks. This restaurant is BYOB which is always fun as well.

L- Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle) Mango Spicy Sweet and Sour

Dude... unbelievable! I LOVE how they put this DELICIOUS char on their meats. Makes it smoky and scrumptious. We have had so many different items on the menu. Spice has the best drunken noodles I have ever had, my girl agrees. The mango sweet and sour was Absolutely perfect. Pineapple fried rice is always a hit. Weve tried all of their curries. 10/10. Their soups are so flavorful. And the service is phenomenal, so kind. The ambiance is adorable. Hanging orchids over your head, its a beautiful place. We love you spice!!

Roti Thai Style
Grace M.

One of the most authentic Thai restaurants I've ever been to in Jersey. Food is reminiscent of Thailand - the food was spicy and delicious. I went with family and I had the Green Curry. The texture of the curry was thick and it was more spicy than sweet - most places favor green curry to be sweeter. It was a big bowl with a vibrant green color. Other places are usually lighter green. They added plenty of meat and tofu to our entrees, so the food was well worth the price of under $20. For our appetizer, we shared the Thai Style Roti. The bread was amazing, buttery and sweet, and it came with an amazing Massaman curry. I was tempted to get that as my entree! The service was great and sweet, it is a family owned business of Thai natives who cook the food themselves. I highly recommend - now my favorite Thai place in NJ!

Food is delish and the workers always run our order out to us so we don't have to find parking.

The food: we started off with spring rolls, very tasty. I then had the Tom Ka Kung soup, what a great surprise. Just the right sweetness from the coconut milk and just the right amount of heat, not too spicy. Then the Panang Lamb arrived. OMG this was an amazing dish. The flavors were amazing. I got it with medium heat and it was perfect. Just the right amount to where you feel it but you want more. The lamb was cooked wonderfully and the vegetables had the right amount of tenderness. Unfortunately there wasn't any room left for dessert. I was surprised how empty it was, but all that meant was we had great service. Maybe the secret isn't out on this place. I will definitely add this to my list when I travel out here again (monthly). Give it a shot, I'm hoping you will be as surprised as I was. I had to give a shout out cause it was really good.

I saw some mixed reviews for Teak before we went, and after reading through quite a few of them, my…read morebest guess was that most of the complaints were tied to a nightclub-type vibe on a possible rooftop bar rather than the restaurant itself. We showed up hoping to snag bar seats, but it was busy and honestly a little warm for my liking. I know, I know, after the winter we've had, I have absolutely no right to complain. Either way, we ended up in an outside room with all the windows open to the patio and it was genuinely perfect. Our server Julie was fantastic. Attentive in all the right ways, including the kind of attentive where she noticed us glancing around and came over to check on us. We weren't actually looking for anything; we were just scoping out the space. Still, I appreciated the hustle. My partner ordered a gin martini, extra dirty; I went with a prosecco. Both came out cold and fast. We ordered edamame, lotus buns, the pear and crispy goat cheese salad, and the aburi roll. The edamame were solid. Nice pop of lime, though I could have used a heavier hand with the salt. The lotus buns were a revelation. Two pillowy bao buns, each stuffed with a generous slab of slow roasted pork belly glazed in hoisin, with a pickled cucumber tucked in alongside it. I'd never had anything quite like them, and the balance was what got me: the brine and snap of the pickle cutting right through the sweetness of that glaze. Really well thought out. The aburi roll was tasty; nothing jumped out as the star moment, but everything played nicely together and it went down easy. And then there was the salad. Oh, the salad. I could eat that salad every single day of the week. Crispy fried goat cheese medallions on a salad is basically a guaranteed order for me, so that's what reeled me in initially. But once I actually started eating it, I forgot all about the goat cheese. Mixed greens, thin pear slices, halved grapes, spiced pecan halves, all dressed in a honey mustard vinaigrette that was genuinely outstanding. I've already started thinking about how to recreate it at home, which is the highest compliment I can give a salad. Teak delivered across the board. Don't let the rooftop reviews scare you off from the restaurant itself.

THE FOOD * Chef's Sashimi Bowl: Bright and tasty with slices of tuna, yellowtail, and salmon. It came professionally plated with vegetable garnishes and a few dried sweet potato and garlic chips for texture. * Oysters & Caviar: The ice-cold oysters topped with black caviar were incredibly fresh. The yuzu/ponzu sauce and sliced green onions added great flavor. Served at the perfect temperature. * Kale Caesar Salad: The surprise here was the spicy breadcrumbs, which made the dish when their spice and crunch came in alongside the creamy dressing and kale. * Tip: I would order the dressing on the side next time, and avoid pairing this with the French Onion Soup Dumplings (too many creamy/heavy components for one meal). * French Onion Dumplings: An okay dish with nice gooey cheese, but a fairly flat overall flavor profile. * Roasted Salmon: Served with a tasty, crisp crust, but it was a bit dry on the inside. It came with nice stir-fried vegetables and slightly underdone coconut rice. THE WINE * A nice selection of wines by the glass. We tried a spread of Cabernet Sauvignon, Bordeaux, and Pinot Noir. THE SERVICE & ATMOSPHERE * Special thanks to Rigo (the sushi chef). He served up amazing sashimi and clearly draws on his 20+ years of experience at TEAK. He was incredibly personable, clearly enjoys his craft, and his presentation was excellent! * Thank you to Olivia, a new bartender upstairs, for her attentive and professional service! Wishing you the best in picking up those great line dance routines. IMPORTANT LOGISTICS Ordering: Note that you must order all your dishes at one time. OVERALL A memorable Asian fusion restaurant with an extensive upstairs dance floor and a bar on each level. Great for a casual date night or a lively evening out on the town.

Whether I'm dining in, getting takeout, or ordering delivery, the experience is always excellent. The food quality is consistently amazing - which is rare to find. The ambiance is great for dining in - it's the kind of place where you actually want to sit and enjoy your meal. Plus, it's BYOB, which is a huge bonus! They're always friendly and welcoming, making you feel like a valued customer whether it's your first visit or your fifteenth. Next time we will try the rib eye hibachi.

Since moving to upstate NY four years ago, I only get to Good Karma when visiting family in NJ. During our latest trip we stopped at Good Karma to pick-up dinner on the way to my parent's house. We ordered the Love Bowl, Gado Gado Salad, and the Live Nachos. Issues: 1) The Gado Gada salad was a big miss. It's supposed to include lettuce, tofu, cabbage, carrots, roasted peanuts, and a sesame seed mix. There was ZERO sesame seed mix and literally ONE roasted peanut. We had asked the tofu be swapped for beans, which did happen, but basically all my wife got was a salad with lettuce and beans. 2) Live Nachos: what a HUGE disappointment. I've had these a number of times in the past and was really looking forward to these. One of my favorite parts has always been the creamy cashew sour cream. THIS TIME, there was one small dollop of the cashew cream. We basically paid $15 for a box of seasoned lettuce with 8 nacho chips -- not nearly enough chips to even eat with our seasoned lettuce. The Love Bowl, fortunately, was on par with my past experiences. However, the experience still left me questioning whether it's worth returning to Good Karma next time.

They should add another door at the entrance. We started off with Wonton soup. The flavor and texture of the meat and dumplings were delicious for me and I'm picky. I ordered the sesame chicken and it was a nice large portion of amazing white meat. As I said I am picky with texture and meat and this was the best I've had out for sesame chicken. That said, my meal was not hot for a fried dish. My dates meal was hot but lacked flavor it was like a garlic type sauce. He ordered the Bistro 3 delicacies. The server was extremely friendly, truly a standout, warm, attentive, and just wonderful throughout our visit. There was a slightly awkward moment at the entrance: a sign told us to wait to be seated, but no one was there to greet us. Instead, a man behind the bar called out from across the room to ask how many were in our party, then simply told us to "sit anywhere." It wasn't a big deal, but it felt a little off-putting and impersonal. As for the food: The wonton soup had good flavor but was just warm which was disappointing on a freezing cold day when a hot bowl of soup would have hit the spot. The pork bun and dumplings were delicious. The tea was also very good, and the overall service was prompt and efficient. It's a solid place with a friendly atmosphere and tasty dishes. Despite the small oddities, I'd say it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
