Did a pickup order here and got the lunch special! Such a great deal- $16.95 for an appetizer and entree (they have the full list of options on the website). This is the restaurant my now husband took my family and I to after proposing. We were late to our reservation around 4pm. When we arrived, our table was already set for us. Upon sitting down, we realized we will be late to our next location. We apologize to the staff and informed them we will be back around 8pm. They understood and stated they will have a table ready for us. Sure enough when we arrived at 8pm, they had a table ready to us. We were a party of 7 people so I was impressed with their accommodation for us. We sat and looked at the menu. I did find the prices to be on the pricey side. The food was absolutely delicious. The portion was reasonable. But one less start because of how pricey the entrees were. Not familiar with this area, so maybe it considered reasonable. I mean the place was packed so people can afford eating here. The staff was very friendly. Also it was BYOB. We were able to celebrate with my favorite drink. Got the ke moa (sp) and pad Thai. For me, I don't enjoy this style of pad Thai is tomato-y maybe. I have seen it at Bangkok House as well but I'm not a fan. The Ke Moa drunken noddles are so good! I get it with crispy tofu and they go that extra mile to keep it crispy. Flavors are great and soy sauce is on point. The restaurant has a nice Thai vibe & service is great. read more

Excellent and extensive Thai menu in a homey atmosphere. Service was prompt and attentive. We shared the mixed appetizers and enjoyed them all. My Salmon Cashew Nut was crispy on the outside and tender inside. With all of the vegetables, there was a lot to take home. read more

We were trying to get a good lunch while driving in Middletown, Atlantic Highlands NJ. We found this Thai place in their downtown area. Not that busy on a weekday lunch. We ordered Crab Fried Rice and Crispy Fried Snapper with sautéed veggies and tamarind sauce on the side. Oh, its authentic and delicious. Serving staff are friendly and respectful, typical Thai character and attitudes. Well decorated Thai restaurant and lots of real plants, as decor. Ok. Clean restaurant, pleasant service, but food was not as good as I hoped. It wasn't bad, but nothing rose above just ok. Dining room was decorated for Halloween (in addition to the copious artificial flowers (which admittedly are in most Thai restaurants), but together it was too much and the flickering fluorescent lights detracted from the ambiance, which isn't great to begin with. Food was under spiced, fish sauce, ground chili or chili sauce not on the table. It did have decent flavor, in a subtle way (which isn't what I want in a Thai restaurant). This quaint little restaurant has always been one of my favorites in the area for authentic, delicious Asian/Thai food. I've been going and taking out for years. Recently there was a small problem with my take out order. When I went back to let them know, the owner was so gracious and so eager to fix the mistake. Rather than try a newly opened restaurant we found Kunya Siam as it's been open a long time. So glad we did. 4 diners, 4 wonderful dinners. Each one different and each one delicious. We really like the soups, fresh rolls, curry dishes, and salmon. The chicken kra praw is delicious if you are looking for a lighter dish. The basil eggplant is a tasty vegetarian dish, sometimes we add chicken to it. The shrimp dishes have good-size shrimp and are fresh tasting. This is a cute Thai place close to Sandy Hook beach. The restaurant had a lot of authentic elements and was clean. There were limited vegetarian options. We had the spring rolls, dumpling, fries rice, veg pad Kee mao, and basil eggplant. The food was fresh and filling, could have used more seasoning and gravy may be, but was good. I must mention that this feedback is vegetarian focused, our non-vegetarian friends enjoyed their experience in terms of food. The service was great and the staff was warm and friendly. After attending an affair in town, I have been wanting to go to this Thai restaurant for about a year, so I made it a point to dine here. As with many of the Asian restaurants, I have to really peruse the menu closely, due to not being familiar with the language of Thai foods. I spoke with the owner who was very accommodating. Since it was prior to 4 PM I could choose various lunch specials. I had the Pad Kra Prow Chicken $14.95. It came with an appetizer ( Seafood crepe) and Thai Hom Mali Rice ( a long grain rice ). Been here twice now. Everything had way too many onions that disrupted every other flavor. Definitely not bad though, I'd give it 4 stars on a good day. We tried the tom kha gai with chicken, green curry with tofu, pad basil eggplant and a side of fried rice. The eggplant had too much tofu in comparison to eggplant, and they weren't the best. Green curry was good and fried rice was okay, nothing I'd order twice. I had red curry fish the first time, have good memories of it. Probably not worth the 25 minute drive from my place. read more

I really didn't think that the shore has good Thai, but this place (which has become a long half hour drive for this local) has got it. It will never replace my 'go to Thai' which is above the DMZ (i.e. Driscoll Bridge), but it's solid. Dined outdoors on recent Friday night. It started to sprinkle, more like spit a bit, with the staff finding another umbrella to address that bit of precip. I had the Ka Nom Jeeb appetizer, my wife the vegetable/tofu soup (terrific broth flavor). She had the Beef with Vegetables, I, the Shrimp curry (while I've had better curries (see my post on Ginger & Lemongrass in NYC), it was servicable. Better than most places, which is the basis of my opening sentence. As with most ALL Thai restos, excellent, kind service. Best Thai food around and that's a fact! Businesses at this location have never lasted more then a few years until kunya Siam came into the picture and it's not hard to figure out why. Every dish is authentic and packed full of flavor. You also feel a thousand times better when you eat Thai over Chinese/Japanese simply because of the better ingredients they use.
